Arbeit
Nestled in the Izera Mountains of south-west Poland, this place is an international non-profit homestead and autonomous zone. Active since 1998, our mission is to (re)connect people with the earth through sustainable organic farming, community living, and creative arts. Our philosophy is organic: guests and volunteers contribute a piece of themselves to the project. This is shaped by active participants, not consumers. We value the creative process far more than the final result, and we choose human connection over ideological dogmas.
🚨 URGENT: SUPPORT NEEDED We are currently looking for responsible volunteers to support the host in caretaking of the homestead. Daily life on the farm is organized around a very independent rhythm:
1. Homesteading & Eco-Farming (Very relaxed routine) Daily care and feeding of our animals (12 goats, 10 chickens, 3 cats, 1 dog). Goat milking (with a milking machine) and artisanal cheese making. Organic gardening, orchard maintenance, and harvesting herbal tea. Small practical maintenance tasks, landscaping, and creative DIY projects depending on the needs of the moment.
2. Space for Creation, Disconnection & Return to Nature , leaving you free to experience the space at your own pace. If you have a creative practice: You will have full access to the inspiring creative facilities on-site (theatre, legend hall, crafts atelier, meditation studio) to paint, write, play music, practice photography, or make films in total freedom. If you are simply looking for a return to nature: This is the perfect opportunity for a total digital detox, to listen to the sound of the river, hike in the surrounding mountains, recharge your batteries in the heart of the nature reserve, and enjoy absolute silence and darkness at night.
🏡 WHAT WE OFFER & ACCOMMODATION Your Space: A private, independent accommodation on our beautiful 36-hectare nature reserve, offering absolute silence with a peaceful river running right next to it. Food & Perks: All basic ingredients for meals provided . Facilities: Simple but comfortable conditions (hot shower, Wi-Fi access). Access to weaving/felting tools , collage making and activity spaces.
🌍 LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT If you would like to join us at another time of the year (we welcome volunteers in autumn and winter too!, this place operates year-round as a large eco-cultural centre, a space for transmission, and an artistic research laboratory.
Our main activities include:
Hosting Youth & Scout Groups: We are a preferred hosting site for scout groups and youth gatherings, focusing on collective life in nature, mutual aid, and sharing. For groups here are special arrangements, which might be different from the Workaway concept. Ask for more info.
The Workshop for Lost and Forgotten Myths: A space for storytelling and performance using art, music, poetry, felting, weaving, and collage-making.
Exploring Local Legends: Guided walks (walkabouts) to local mythical rocks, ancient pagan sources, and historical cult sites.
The African Program: Artistic research and expression focused on animist art, rituals, music, and oral traditions from Africa, connected with the local Polish reality.
Landscape Preservation: Restoring historical footpaths, ancient stone walls, and developing the farm's energy autonomy.
Please note: Our standard volunteer hosting is for individuals or duos. For large groups or scout projects, please contact us directly for specific arrangements.
