  I grew up in La Reunion, a tropical island in the Indian Ocean, located near Madagascar and Mauritius. I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands but recently I got the chance to buy the house I grew up in. It's liveable but it needs improvements. Together with my husband and son (8 yr old) we will stay for one month in the house, in July/August 2024, to work on it.
  
  We need help and look for one handy(wo)man or couple during these months. The island is beautiful and lots of activities to do such as trekking (mountains and an active vulcano!) , scuba diving, paragliding and more. We provide for food and allowance. Stay can be longer than a month too. Daily flights from and to Paris, Mauritius and Madagascar.

  J'ai grandi à La Réunion, une île tropicale de l'océan Indien, située près de Madagascar et de l'île Maurice. Je vis à Amsterdam, aux Pays-Bas, mais j'ai récemment eu l'occasion d'acheter la maison dans laquelle j'ai grandi. Elle est vivable mais a besoin d'être améliorée. Avec mon mari et mon fils (8 ans), nous allons rester un mois dans la maison, en juillet/août 2024, pour y faire des travaux. Nous avons besoin d'aide pendant ces 2 mois et recherchons une personne ou un couple bricoleur. L'île est magnifique et il y a beaucoup d'activités pour en profiter comme le trekking (montagnes et un volcan actif !), la plongée sous-marine, le parapente et plus encore. Nous fournissons la nourriture et l'argent de poche. Le séjour peut durer plus d'un mois. Vols quotidiens au départ et à destination de Paris, de l'île Maurice et de Madagascar.

  We like to spend the month together: we work together but we also eat together. I grew up on the island, so you will eat local food most of the times! :) Of course you can also go your own way to explore this beautiful island.

  Nous aimons passer le mois ensemble : nous travaillons ensemble, mais nous mangeons aussi ensemble. J'ai grandi sur l'île, donc vous mangerez local la plupart du temps ! :) Bien sûr, vous pouvez aussi explorer cette belle île à votre manière.

  Arbeit

  Works to be done: cleaning, painting, renew kitchen and bathroom, furniture assembling (or carpentry). Depending on your skills we will decide to outsource some work or not. Helping us coordinating other craftsmen is part of your job.

  Unterkunft

  The house lies in a residential neighboorhood, 10 minutes (car) from Saint-Paul, 15 minutes from beautiful beaches where you can snorkle in the lagoon. It's a 100 sqm house with 3 bedrooms, large living room and large (500 sqm) garden with jacuzzi. We will use two bedrooms, the third one is all yours (1 person or couple). House has one bathroom to share. We provide for meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  La maison se trouve dans un quartier résidentiel, à 10 minutes (en voiture) de Saint Paul, à 15 minutes de belles plages où l'on peut faire du snorkeling dans le lagon. Il s'agit d'une maison de 100 m² avec 3 chambres, un grand salon et un grand jardin (500 m²) avec jacuzzi. Nous utiliserons deux chambres, la troisième est à vous (1 personne ou couple). La maison dispose d'une salle de bain que nous partagerons. Nous fournissons les repas : petit déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner.

  You are free to go anywhere of course. Local transport is good. And in a 15 minutes drive you are at the beach. You can use our car too.
