Peace and tranquility and help around the house on a tiny remote island in Ammouliani, Greece

  We are an English/Italian couple (Nicky & Mirko, Nicky is English and Mirko is Italian) living on a beautiful and tiny island (Ammouliani) in Halkidiki, northern Greece. We are currently renovating our new home, an old country house (and former island disco!) we need help with general building and maintenance, fence building, gardening, vegetable plot, etc. we also have 50 olive trees. This is our private home, the produce from our garden is for our family and our guests. The island itself is just 4km2. Very natural, peaceful and wild. Surrounded by crystal clear clean blue sea with some incredible beaches. The island and the surrounding sea is also home to dolphins, flamingos and seals. There are spectacular sunsets, sunrises and star gazing to be enjoyed. Swimming, snorkelling, fishing, boating, hiking and relaxing are popular activities here! There is total peace and quiet out of season. However in July and August the island is full up! Our house is surrounded by sea views with Mount Athos (considered the centre of Orthodox Christianity) in the distance.

  Local activities include hiking, snorkelling and fishing. There are always possibilities for fishing on the island, Mirko is a passionate fisherman! Our home is an interesting mix of cultures! I, Nicky am English but lived in Spain for several years. Mirko is Italian, has travelled extensively across Central America and India and we lived together in Bulgaria for several years. Mirko’s 2 daughters are half Bulgarian so there are many languages spoken in our house!

  Arbeit

  Right now (September/October) we need immediate help with fence building. We also need help with general building and maintenance, gardening - right now the land is fairly abandoned and needs organising, landscaping etc…we also have 50 olive trees and a vegetable garden for the family. We are not a business, we are a family renovating an old house.

  Unterkunft

  We provide accommodation in a completely private 2 bed mobile home with huge terrace and garden just 100 metres from our house. It has solar panels and all needed for living plus sunset views. It’s just 10 minutes walk to the nearest beach or to the village.
  We provide basic ingredients for making breakfast, we usually share lunch during the working day and will provide basic ingredients for dinners to be made by the visitors as they wish. There is a butcher, 2 bakeries, a mini fish market and 3 mini supermarkets on the island for visitors to get extra supplies if they wish.

  Ammouliani is 1.5 hours by car from Thessaloniki airport and is reached in 10 minutes by ferry from Tripiti port (close to Ierissos/Ouranopoli).
  
  The main village is less than 10 minutes on foot from our house where you will find 3 mini markets and 2 bakeries for supplies. There are a few restaurants and bars open during the season with only a limited selection during the winter.
  
  The nearest beach is 10 minutes away by foot. We can provide a pedal bike with which to explore the island. Local activities include hiking, snorkelling and fishing.
  
  There are daily regular ferries serving the island throughout the year. On the mainland there is Mount Athos, the village of Ouranopoli, and the whole of the Halkidiki peninsula to be explored. Offering amazing beaches, wildlife and nature and spectacular scenery.
  
  We love to cook and eat, relax at the beach, we live a peaceful life.
  
  We live with 6 rescue dogs (and 3 cats) some of whom are nervous around people so we appreciate people who are confident around dogs.
