Paradise! It was a privilege to get to spend 10 days with Till and Nellie, and such a pleasure to get to know them (we wish we could have stayed longer)! They have been so welcoming and generous to us; we also got to meet some of their lovely family and friends.
The jobs were very varied (cutting down trees and chipping wood, helping shear the
… read more sheep, feeding cows, planting vegetables and other general land maintenance tasks), and the hours were more than reasonable. We also got to learn at lot of new practical skills; Nellie and Till have a wealth of knowledge and are great teachers. The farm land is full of native beauty, and the Northland region as a whole has a lot to offer. We stayed in the very comfy sleepout house, stocked with food supplies. We shared some meals and hung out in the cowshed and epic hut with Nellie and Till, enjoying the best home-brewed beer and lovely wine.
We will never forget our stay and feel very lucky to have made two new friends!

Lucja and Noah demonstrated physical and interpersonal skill well beyond their age. They were hard workers and achieved alot in the time they were with us. Giving instructions was easy as they used their initiative and didn't require extra detail or explanations. We enjoyed their company and they were a pleasure to have.

Till and Nellie were absolutely fantastic hosts, and we enjoyed every second of our time with them! There was plenty to do and the work was also very fun. As hosts they're very flexible and found jobs that suited us, we ended up doing a variety of inside and outside jobs, for example gardening work and painting. We got to meet their grandkids and
… read more spend the day at the beach, it was a lovely day and we learnt lots about the local area! They make their own Fejoa wine and brew an incredible beer, so that was definitely a bonus.

We stayed 2,5 weeks with Till and Nellie and already regret that we did not stay longer. We had the best time helping them with crazy stuff like dismantling an old car and trying to master the staple gun to fix some fence lines or helping to sort the wool from sheering the stupid sheep :)
