Hello We are a family with two adorable young girls aged 16 and 17 who are in the same class. We live in Tahiti, in French Polynesia and we are looking for a girl preferably who doesn’t speak any French, to look after our girl and to help them with their homework, mainly in math, physics and chemistry. We would also need you to take care of our dog, and to cook when we won’t be there ….. . If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us. To those reading about this-

I spent 6 amazing weeks this past summer based out of Guadeloupe. This was the experience of a lifetime and I am so thankful I came to stay with them.

Life on board is absolutely wonderful. It was AMAZING waking up to see the ocean every day, to hear Celia and Chloe giggling down our hull, and to be a part of their family. JP and Mary included me in all aspects of their life and always made me feel loved!

In the mornings I helped the girls with English school, helped Maryline tidy the boat, and helped cook throughout the day. I always said that my role was very much like being in my own house, just helping wherever help is needed.

Outside of these responsibilities, we spent the majority of our time exploring the islands and enjoying the sailing life. While abroad with them, I snorkeled, scuba dived, flew in tiny airplanes, hiked to waterfalls, played sports, did yoga on the boat, went on runs with Maryline, and lived a very active lifestyle! Of course, playing with the girls is a huge part of the day and often times the very best part! They are incredibly well behaved, respectful, hilarious and a joy to be around. I also sang in their band for 2 weeks while at ClubMed. Maryline is an incredible singer with the purest voice and amazing stage presence. JP helped me with guitar, if you are interested in learning I'm sure he will be eager to teach you :)

Maryline and JP taught me a number of French recipes that I now make at home in California. (Mary-- I still can't get your crepes quite right!!) At dinner we often hosted potluck style with other sailors. One of my favorite memories is sitting at the table with my french host family, a couple from Argentinians who I adore (te extraño Zule y Cristian!), a young couple from Israel, and a British ex-pat. Listening to four languages and cultures circle a dinner table was unlike anything I had ever experienced. If you are at all interested traveling with them, I highly recommend you go.
