If you are looking for a place to prepare for the world that is being shaped right now, this it it.
Freedom, resilience, independence, common sense, peace, honesty, integrity, trust, humour are some values we share and strive to keep from going extinct. It takes courage, mental and physical strength, determination, patience, empathy, focus and humility: but it is worth it.
We are not trying to get the most likes on Facebook or the record of smiles on Instagram.
We are not trying to be cool, or original, or trying anything at all!
We just do the things we need, and the things we like, and make sure we can keep doing them on the long term.
It involves growing food, building and maintenance, taking care of animals, playing music, doing sports, hiking, watching movies, discussing topics and new ideas... developing a plan B for the long term, which involves no more electricity, internet, gasoline, tap water...
Without ideology, without taking sides, just with our good old common sense and a sense of humour!
We strive for balance between the old, traditional ways, and the modern comfort.
If you wish to take a break from the insane pace of the modern world, if you like to do real, meaningful stuff, if you like to be among humans, animals and nature, if you want to help and be helped, confront life, yourself and others without denial or correctness, and if you are looking for a place to build your own resilient future, please do not hesitate to contact us!
We are a bunch of really kind people living in a small Bulgarian village, with nature all around. All of us are very different, but we share these values mentioned above. But most of all, we want freedom, and peace.
We speak many languages and there are many, many different things to do around.
There is space for short and long stays, and even some houses and land plots for sale... ;-)

Just from the fact that we are Bulgarian, French, Swedish from different generations and backgrounds gathered in one place makes it really enriching.
Also the Bulgarian countryside is very unique by the peace, safety, freedom, and inspiration it provides.
The Bulgarian people are such warm-hearted, communicative and honest that they cannot leave you indifferent...
We all have lots of stories, lots of ideas and lots of questions... and lots of time for exchange and share. Time for being here and now, time, this precious, almost extinct luxury...
Arbeit
Depending on the season:
- Renovating houses and other buildings, finishing our "saloon", building an outside sauna, fences for horses, a chicken coop;
- Cutting trees, gathering and cutting wood, mulching branches, making compost, scything, making hay;
- Building furniture and other woodworking tasks;
- Maintenance and organizing of tools, putting buildings in order;
- Taking care of chickens, sheep and in the future horses;
- Taking care of vegetable gardens, greenhouses, fruit trees, picking fruits and mushrooms;
- Cooking meals, processing and conserving food;
- Developing alternative solutions to short-term modern standards;
- Helping out neighbours in the village;
- Playing music, watching movies, playing board games, billiard, darts, shooting the bow, playing football and boxing, discussing things around a nice drink... :-)

Unterkunft
There is a guest room in my comfortable house. When the weather is warm enough there is also space to sleep in the saloon.
Meals will be shared, we will organize it on the spot, we're real easy and generous, and it's really no matter demanding complex solutions!

We have a car that we share with my neighbour, we do not use very much so it will be at your disposal when it's available!
The closest town, Elena, is very pretty and calm, and about 15 minutes away. There is also a village down the road with a small store for basic products. The nearest city, Veliko Tarnovo, is about 35 minutes away, and is magnificent.
The forest and (low) mountain is just down the street so there is a lot of hiking around, fishing, mushroom and fruit picking, bathing (river and dam), we have bikes, bows, punching bag, an air rifle, music instruments, art material, woodworking tools and machines, and soon horses. The saloon is ready and you can chill there and/or play music.
Every Sunday morning we go the the local food market and then we play a bit of football for fun.

I (Pierre) am personally working online for a call center, so does one neighbour, and we actually have 2 available internet connections that are pretty decent. One of them is actually very good considering the location.
