It was lovely staying with Abby, Renny, Ollie, and Felix (and not to forget Timmy, the friendly, old dog) for almost two weeks! … read more beautiful, with rolling hills, vineyards, and small, historical towns - perfect for long walks or bike rides (they have some really nice bikes...)! The local area has lots going on - for example, we went to a "moules et frites" night and had an excursion to a lake, where you could do all sorts of water sports. I picked him up the following day as we both unusually happen to be in the same town at the same time which also happened to be my birthday. He came bearing flowers as a present (having noticed it was my bday on facebook) which obviously
… read more immediately endeared me to him :) He is charming, kind, thoughtful, extremely hard working and was fantastic with my boys. The opportunity didn't arise but I would have trusted him to look after them alone. We in fact trusted him so much that we left him for a week and went on holiday whilst he looked after the dog, cats (even giving eye treatment to one) and watered the garden. If you have a piano you must make it part of the exchange that he plays for you every night, especially 'Comptine d'un autre étè'. Pure bliss. I only wish that my boys grow up to be half as talented and beautiful inside and out as Matthius - his parents must be very proud. Thank you for everything Matthius - we were very grateful to have you here and I hope that you may return one day.

I Stayed with them for about two weeks! They are absolutely nice! I enjoyed a lot the talks with Renny and Abby. I had a great time Playing with Oli and Felix, football and all the other games! Thank you very much! I will miss you a lot.

They are a bit isolated? But What ever you need you just have to ask and you always have the chance to take the bike and do trips. Eauze is 10 km away...the streets are hilly !! But it is a great place, awesome people what do you want more?
So if you want to have a nice stay, play with two lovely kids and take care of the cats, Timmy and the chickens...this is the Place for you!

The work is varied and they are relaxed about what you do and when so when the weather was good I could choose to work outside and when it was not so good I could be inside tidying or
… read more cleaning. It was good to be able to choose when to have lunch, take a break, play with the children or even stop working altogether! Alongside general help in the house and garden I helped looked after the two boys. They are great fun and always full of energy with wonderfully imaginative ideas. They enjoy having workawayers and so will be keen to involve you in their games and if you can teach them magic tricks you'll be their hero!

I can't tell you the pleasure of working all day to come home to a clean house and a cooked meal! The veg patch was also attended to and some grafting in the garden. We managed to persuade her to stay and extra week and almost let down her tyres to make her stay longer but didn't want to chance a bad workaway review :) Feedback

Liam came for a couple of weeks and after those couple of weeks we threatened him that if he decided to go than we would cling wrap the caravan so that he couldn't escape because he was so bloody amazing! It was like having another family member about but one that worked and didnt argue :) Really no trouble at all, ate everything and was grateful
… read more for it. Helped clean up afterwards without being asked. Used his initiative all the time which is a huge bonus when you are busy with children/work. He even helped at the weekends in the house so we never felt like we were waiting on him. We were so impressed with how quickly and efficiently the basic tasks were completed that we set him some jobs that required a fair amount of skill and he excelled. Nothing was complained about - even when he was doing monotonous jobs like rendering and painting a large wall. We asked him to cut a bit of wood for the winter and were again amazed at the speed of which he cut it and stacked it and in no time we have enough wood to keep us warm all winter. He was also brilliant with the boys, for someone not having had much experience around little people he had a remarkable amount of patience and tolerance. Truly grateful to him and would welcome him back anytime. Miss you Liam! Happy travelling, Abby and Renny x

Well, what can I say? I ended up here for about a month and a half when I originally was only going to stay for a couple of weeks. I´m glad I didn´t move on so quickly. The work was varied and they don´t work you too hard. I ended up doing a lot of things I had never done before and I feel so greatful that they allowed me to do so. The food was wicked, all homely cooked meals, Abby underestimates herself. Renny on the other hand... is a different story altogether. If you want to impress him, keep going on about how amazing his pizzas are and you have a sure fire way to be best of friends haha. No, food was all so delicious, regardless of who made it and I am definitely going to go back for some Renny and Abby time. I would consider them friends more than hosts. Unless Renny doesnt accept my friendship request on Facebook haha.

… read more they are around (except that it is like little fairies who clean up after themselves and us!) They are calm, organised, educated and clean. I did not even know that Claire had any funny eating habits, she has been grateful for and eaten everything that I have cooked. The only thing I know if is that she doesnt like sweet things so much but I am totally envious of that and it only means there is more for me (which isnt such a good thing!) They are willing to participate in local culture and try new experiences. Both have worked harder and longer than we expected which we have been very grateful for as we need the help (however we certainly didnt expect them to work dusk till dawn!) They have been great with the children who love them, I dont think its such an easy thing to have children around all the time when you dont have any of your own but they have been brilliant with them. Please feel free to ask any questions if you have any concerns. Oh one negative, Leon is a master scrabble player, best not to attempt a game, itll only end in you feeling like plum!
