"If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need" (Marcus Tullius Cicero 106 BC)
Long since I have dreamed of a library and a garden but the decision to do everything that stands in my power to build one came from the reading one of the few public letters from kids between eight and ten years old posted on book donation box in Timisoara, 2016 which stated:
"Dear reader, my village has a bank, a casino, a bar, and fast food but it has no library. Please donate some books because I would like very much to read. Thank you."
It is heartbreaking when a kid makes you realize that so much money gets invested in everything else except knowledge. I do not believe in putting the "blame" because I know that for one thing to exist someone has to dream it! And so it has begun.
The big plan is to Revive a dying village in the west hills of Romania by buying and reconditioning old houses from the village. Each of them will have a well-defined purpose: one will be a library, other will be used for various STEM workshops, another one for free self-accommodation of travelers, same will have an open-air amphitheater, and a place to create pottery, iron smithing, woodworking, and others will have a hobbit houses in the hill of their backyard.
Our first project is an Open Library.
We purchased the house in 2017, in terrible shape but little progress has been made every year.
The goal is to document the whole process of reconditioning and share it on youtube, twitter, facebook and Instructables with the hope that it will inspire people and give back to the world a well made DIY tutorial for anyone interested in what it takes and what it means to recondition old houses instead of destroying and rebuilding.
We are a team of 6. The master builder is my father, Stefan, who has over 30 years of experience in constructions. The architect is my good friend Ami. My old friend Mihai who is an electrical engineer will help us with the electrical part. Gabi and Doru are my father fellow workers and already helped a lot in the process. And I am the project manager of this entire endeavor.
Our project for children and adults alike. Children are lean more towards technology and adults are lean more towards tradition and sustainability. We will offer a place where ideas can take shape, where the project can be put into practice, a place where tradition and modern technology can fuse.
After the Library is finished, we plan to organize weekly meetups, events, and classes like Coder's Dojo, Arduino, Raspberry Jam, 3D Printing, Robotics, and other fun and inquisitive challenges.
We value tradition, organic farming, green energy, technology, arts, and inventions.

If you value peaceful and remote places then you will enjoy living with us for a few months in a remote village from west Romania. Eat healthy food, breath clean air, see and hear the nature.
The reconditioning and construction of the library will start soon and we are in need of someone to document the whole process. If you know your way with gadgets, computer, and the internet then you are the right person for the job.
Your main task is to produce one video presentations per week. That means you will have to capture content (photo and video) and then selectively combining that content in order to create a story or communicates a message.
Every week on Saturday at 10:00 AM we will have a half-hour online meeting where we discuss the progress done so far and decide based on your feedback if there is any need for changes or improvements regarding your experience. Also, this will be the time when I need those files uploaded.
Beside video editing, any other help with daily house chores, like cleaning, cooking, and washing dishes is greatly appreciated.
You get to pick one of the three rooms available and there is a bathroom with shower at the end of the hallway. At the moment there is limited internet access via 3G in key places.
Nearby there is a black locust forest where you can have pleasant evening or morning walks.
The village is 60km away from Timisoara and can only be reached by car. We can pick you up from Timisoara airport or train station upon arrival.
