  HELLO! I am Srijana hailing from the beautiful village of HEE-BERMOIK West Sikkim. Our School is located with a view of worlds 3rd highest Peak MT. KANCHENJUNGA. Our school was started in 2002 to help the local poor students to get the basic english medium facilities. The area located far away from hustle and bustle of town plays big role for students development. Our main goal is to help students to improve their English speaking, listening and written skills, whilst learning to work together and think outside the box. We have around 300 students presently classes till standard 10. If you have got the energy or potential to get a change or difference in our students. We welcome volunteers to assist us in these projects. We have around 15 teaching and 5 non teaching staff. Teaching staff are class teachers as well few are wardens. Teachers tech different subjects, non teaching staff are bus drivers, peon etc.

  Sikkim is a unique area of India situated in the narrow corridor that links India with Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan: consequently it is culturally and ethnically distinct from other regions of India. It's mountain terrain and rich Buddhist heritage encourage deep tranquility, peace and reflection. In an environment where people are friendly and the landscape dynamic, volunteers will experience hospitality within a home dedicated to preserving the cultural traditions of this spectacular Himalayan region
  
  You will have a chance to help and work with some of the most kind children and students in the world.
  
  A great opportunity for university students who wants to gain classroom experience before starting their career or need a break away from their current job.
  
  The village of HEE-BERMOIK will play a big role in rejuvenating your soul because of its peaceful ambience and the lush green forest with the mighty Mt Kanchenjunga on the front.

  Arbeit

  You need to teach students which ever subject needs your presence.
  we are mostly looking for teachers to teach in our school along with co -curricular activity.
  looking for volunteers who can teach students in their subjects same like normal school teachers who will get different subjects to teach.
  
  What we expect from you is to bring Western values, an excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken as written and if you on top of that have any classroom/teaching experience it will be super.
  
  You will assist us on fixed days & hours in the classroom and school.
  
  You need to take care of the school, your living space and kitchen area with respect as it was your own.

  Unterkunft

  You'll (share if you're together) have a big bedroom with 2 BIG single beds and a private bathroom in the house away from the main school building.
  
  It has a fully equipped kitchen and is situated just outside the school.
  We provide "Local" food cooked, or fresh food so you can cook yourself
  
  All point of interest like lake, monasteries, waterfalls, water garden, cardamom farms, are in the village itself which are accessible by walking.
  
  The small market or shops and banks are also accessible by walking
  We also have bus service to our students so you can communicate with bus driver if you don't want to walk or to reach taxi stands for other destination.

  Here at our school we want volunteers to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Hee-bermoik and the wider area of Sikkim. Within the village it is possible to visit local areas of natural beauty including lakes and waterfalls, as well as watching spectacular sunrises over the mountains. Mountain biking across the region is an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings and trekking in West and North Sikkim is also an opportunity that should not be missed, we are happy to help volunteers organise their trips.
