  ***Winter request: currently we are seeking 2 volunteers for the period of Feb-15 to March-5: the specific reason for this timeframe is that we are expecting a baby in this period, and it would be great to have 2 volunteers at our land present who can land/house/cat/chicken-sit while we will be in the hospital (for about 4 days). You will have a lovely warm and cosy tiny house for yourselves in our forest, and besides the few days of land-sitting the work will be to maintain our veg-garden and work on our fields (mulching/trimming grass and woods etc). Own transport is required! For further details about this period - pop us a message and we will plan a chat!***
  
  We (Annelien-39 and Eric-45) are Dutchies who moved to Sardinia in january 2023. We fell in love with the nature, the people, the food, and eventually: with a 8 hectare property that we now call our home. We are in the north of Sardinia, the province of Gallura, where the ocean meets the beautiful oak woods and the granite rocks. Our land is half forest, half fields. On the fields we plan to create a food forest, vinyard and aromatic garden following permaculture practices. Annelien is a scientist (pharmacy/biology), teacher and excellent baker. Eric is a professional carpenter and has always had a business in ecological plastering. In 2022 we have travelled southern Europe and worked at several workaway projects ourselves to learn, get inspired and find our own mission. We have lots of inspiration, energy and talents to share, and are looking forward to welcome and learn from yours!

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  As we are currently in the starting phase of our project you can learn anything that comes along with that process. Designing our agricultural plan, preparing the soil according to permaculture practices, etc. As Eric is a professional in construction and has build 3 houses so far, you can learn a lot of stuff from him depending on the length of your stay (during short stays we only offer garden/forest work). We both enjoy cooking/baking and we would love to swap recipes and eat as many yummy and culturally diverse cuisines as possible. I’m sure you will pick up some of our Dutch roots and habits, I leave it up to you to tell us about that ;).

  Arbeit

  We have worked our ass of in year one, and managed to create a lot of the basic needs: roads, water systems, solar panel systems, compost toilet, outdoor showers, irrigation, we planted ~5000 (fruit) trees and aromatic plants, we renewed our workplace, rebuild stone walls, and build a lovely hottub (also your winter stay with us will be warm ;)). In the season of 2024/2025 we are working on the following projects:
  
  - We will have to maintain the plants and trees we planted so far: mulching, trimming, etc.
  - We will start to clean some of our remaining fields: think of trimming bushes, removing dead branches, getting rid of weeds and stingy stuff.
  - We will build some structures (wooden fences, tiny houses) and therefore we need builders/wood workers/creative folks! Please be very specific about any type of carpenter skills you have, that makes it possible for us to think of nice projects for the both of us.
  - We will build 2 websites for our future endeavours on our land.
  
  The precise work will depend on the timing and length of your stay. Wherever possible we try to mix some different activities into the program, but that is not always possible (if we have 1000 plants waiting to go into the soil that must be done asap :)). If you have specific skills in construction or other passions which you think are beneficial for us, please let us know in your application such that we can make your stay as fullfilling as possible for all of us. In case you are a good photographer and/or website designer, we would love to get your help with that as well!
  
  Important: please only apply if you are truly interested and self motivated to work with us. We are building up a farm and business, and the work is serious and at times physically demanding. We only accept volunteers that are committed to work with us and will keep a positive attitude during the work hours. We find it important to communicate clearly about the type of help that will be available, therefore we will schedule a call ~1 week in advance of your stay to manage expectations. You can expect 100% commitment from our side, also towards our guests!
  
  We work in the mornings between 8-13, 5 days a week. At least 3-4 times a week we will have lunch together, and we will make sure you have the basics for breakfast/lunch/diner ). During weekend days we do not provide any meals. You are welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet of our land and surroundings, but if you are up for fun activities (games/pizza/hikes/beach time) we would love to share those experience as well, depending on our schedules.

  We are very much interested in learning Italian, so in case you are able to help us with our language study that would be great! We currently study ~1 hr a day and would love to get more conversation with native speakers.

  Unterkunft

  At the moment we only welcome travelers with own transport/campervans. We have a tent available with comfortable 2p bed, and you can make use of our compost toilet and beautiful (hot) outdoor shower. We have a seperate guesthouse available as well, but this can only be used if we don't have other (paying) guests at our land (note: Feb-15 to March-5 ish this guesthouse is all yours if you join us this specific period!). For this reason during the winter months we can only guarantee a stay if you have your own mobile home with you!
  
  - We do not approve the use of drugs on our property.
  - We do not accept pets.
  - We do not host families with kids.
  - Please inform us about any relevant physical/mental disabilities during the phonecall, so we can make sure our place is safe and the work appropriate. If we find out about any conditions upon arrival we might have to cancel your stay.

  Sardinia is a beautiful island full of ancient traditions and people from all over the world. We are located between the coast (15 min), Luogosanto (15 min) and Santa Theresa (20 min), which will give you access to historical sights, bushes as well as the magnificant coastline. If surfing or rock climbing is your thing; you are at the right spot. It would be best if you have your own transport/car, if you want to be independent outside of your working hours. We have an electric bike available that you can use which will easily get you to our village with shops as well as the beach.

  We have a private space for you to set up your own campsite with your van. We have a comfortable compost toilet, fairytale outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen area. As of September/October we will have a tiny house available with kitchen, lounge and diner table which you can use (shared space).
