  ** Update for Fall & Winter 2025
  Again, I need to update the profile, changes in life and all that. Amazingly we are still 32 years old, but the kids are now 8, 3 and another one has appeared somehow :-)
  
  We’re currently looking for help during the fall and winter months with our household and kids. Life here is beautiful but often a bit chaotic, so we’re especially looking for someone independent, kind, and comfortable with a flexible, real-life kind of setup.
  
  We want to be upfront: we’re not able to be the “perfect hosts” with a spotless house or a perfectly structured routine. My energy is limited (I have ongoing health issues), and I also have ADHD — which means the house is usually in some stage of creative chaos. If you’re someone who finds joy in decorating, organizing, or rearranging spaces, you may just be my dream person. Honestly, if you’ve ever wanted to style someone else’s home like a cozy Pinterest board — this is your moment.
  
  You’d have your own space in a spare apartment downstairs, and rather than sharing daily life closely, we’d focus more on clear working hours and giving each other space. I really want to be the perfect social outgoing host, but unfortunately I need to save my energy but I will definitely try! However if you like watching various tv shows, play a card game and chill when the kids are a sleep, you are most welcome to join me :-)
  
  
  If you enjoy kids, are self-directed, and don’t mind a home that’s a bit lived-in and full of character, we’d love to hear from you.
  
  
  *just an update few years later. Also, so sorry for late reply at times!
  Anyways. We are still 32 years old, but our girl is now almost 7 and we have almost a 2 year old boy. :) we don’t have spare room anymore, I think we never had hah, but there is possibility I will have kids together in same room (I do need some help in making their rooms) so we could take on shorter stays but then we sometimes have apartment available so we can offer longer stays and some flexibility and possible 2 persons.
  
  Also the cat died but we have now 2 somehow instead. I think that’s all. :)
  
  . We live in a house in north Iceland. I thought it would be a good idea to offer our spare room for someone that would like to join Iceland on a budget, and in the meantime get some help with minimal stuff around the house.
  The ww would be need to be at least 20 years old, preferably 25 and up :)

  Iceland is amazing country, and living in the north (second largest town in Iceland) is a bit different than spending time in the city (Reykjavik). There are beautiful areas all around, and to be able to spend a bit time in this area, in whatever season it would be, it ables the traveller to enjoy more of this part of Iceland, and not just the south as many of tourist do. Winter here is amazing, and for sure a winter wonderland. Northern lights light up the sky and dance around. In summer, the sun is shining 24hours and the best weather is always here in Akureyri ;)
  
  Exploring Icelandic nature is something that should not be missed, and if there is interest for some other old icelandic saga's (old icelandic stories), I'm happy to make something up. ;)
  
  Of course we also have all the elves and who knows if you spend some time here, you can spot one or two.

  Arbeit

  Tasks might include:
  • Helping get the older kids to and from school
  • Occasionally watching our youngest (who will be 1 year old then and not in daycare)
  • Spending time outside with her so I can get work done from home
  • Light cleaning or making dinner
  • And again — helping bring a little order and style to a house that really needs it!
  
  It will depend on the interest of the traveller. Help can vary with different things of what the traveller would like and can do. It can be cleaning the house, playing with my little girl, cook dinner and shopping. It can also be help with small diy around the house if the person knows a thing or two in that field. Help can vary between seasons, so we would just find something that suits us both :)

  Unterkunft

  We have a guest bedroom and a bathroom next to it. The kitchen is large space connected to the living room, and there we spend most of our time when we are home. We would share the kitchen, and we can adjust a space in the fridge and some drawers and cabinets for a private space for the travellers things in the kitchen. Of course she/he is allowed to use what he wants and needs of our stuff and foods as they wish.

  Was noch ...

  There are amazing places all around, we have free buses in town, we only have one car, but we can arrange time so you could borrow it and drive around if you have a licence. We are happy to take some trips and show you around as well. We have bicycles as well and they are all yours if you like. We can also borrow some equipment like snowboard and clothes if you would like to try our resort if you come in winter. There is a indoor skatepark as well if that is a hobby.
