  Hi I'm Jack,
  
  My two siblings and I are based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney with our dad and heaps of affectionate pets! I love to travel and have spent the majority of this year away from home on the road travelling Australia with my partner. My dad and younger sister currently live at home, while my older brother lives locally with his partner.
  
  About our home
  
  We're based in North Balgowlah, a peaceful suburb close to Manly surrounded by cafes, restaurants, beaches and ocean pools only a 10-minute drive away. We are well-connected to the city via public transport with a 30-minute journey by bus or take the fast ferry from Manly which will take you across the harbour to the city in 20 minutes! For shops a bit closer to home, take the 10-minute bus to Warringah Mall shopping centre.
  Our house is big with balcony views of the surrounding nature, full of natural light and also home to our four affectionate dachshunds, one Frenchie and two lovely cats. We have six bedrooms, open-plan living space, study room, garage and a garden – so plenty of space! You’ll have your own queen-sized bedroom and a big shared bathroom (just sharing with my younger sister).

  We can host a couple, and we welcome you to be a part of our family life. You’ll have:
  
  A safe, welcoming home with well-travelled hosts
  Shared meals 5 days a week, plus the chance to learn and cook different cuisines together
  Opportunities to either join us for family celebrations like Christmas or to have flexibility and time off to explore other parts of the country during holidays
  Suggestions for exploring Sydney and beyond – we are well-travelled having just completed a lap of Australia by car, as well as having worked on a pearl farm in Western Australia this year, we can share advice on obtaining regional work etc.
  Opportunities to look after and spend time with our pets, we will show you the best beach walks and other fun local activities.
  Conversations about work or employment in Sydney, we all work local jobs and would be happy to share advice or give recommendations to help you secure a job locally. My younger sister works in animal care as well as volunteers at Taronga Zoo, myself and my brother work in the marine industry and my partner works across hospitality and beach lifesaving.
  Plenty of free time each day as help is 3hrs/day, Monday to Friday.
  
  Who we’re looking for
  
  We’re looking for a mature, trustworthy couple who love animals as our pets are such a big part of our home. Most of the help is house-related: laundry, tidying, cleaning, cooking family meals and feeding the dogs. We are looking for people who are confident and comfortable with practical tasks.
  
  Experience in any of these helps:

  Gardening or outdoor maintenance
  
  A Typical Day
  Expect most of the help to involve weekday afternoons and evenings. A bit of tidying and then it’ll be food prep, bringing the dogs inside and cooking dinner mainly. We encourage a local café or morning/daytime parttime or casual job to fit well alongside this schedule!
  Weekends are yours to enjoy.
  
  Who We Are
  We’re a pet-loving household with Australian and English heritage. We would love to exchange and trade recipes or food traditions with our guests. My partner and I like to surf in our free time so we would love to share this experience with our guests too if there was interest! My dad and sister are huge fans of rugby so are always keen to watch sport and would welcome guests to join in!
  We are a home of food, pets and we are open-minded to meeting people from around the world and sharing experiences - so if that sounds like your kind of adventure, we’d love to host you.

  We offer and encourage flexibility in the opportunity to find part time work alongside this Workaway position allowing the chance to experience working in the local community on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Each member of my family has experience working in different industries and would be happy to share advice or recommendations for working in Sydney and beyond. My partner and I recently completed a season working in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia which could not be more different to working in Sydney! We met so many travellers from all over the world there who were completing their regional 88-day visa work and we loved learning about other countries and hearing so many adventurous travel stories. We can teach you the best ways to explore Australia, the best seasons for exploring the different regions and activities we love such as fishing and boating, and give you heaps of recommendations for earning money while travelling around.
  
  While we’re hosting you, we can share and exchange our favourite ways to experience Sydney living on the Northern Beaches, from spending time at our beautiful beaches, partaking in water sports and leisure activities like surfing, swimming, boating or walks with the dogs and other local activities such as the weekend markets in Manly. We love to take weekend visits to our family farm which is a two hour drive south of Sydney and would always invite Workawayers to join.

  We are in the process of getting our family home organised! Between the couple we would love 30 hours per week of volunteer help. Some examples are:
  
  - Help with sorting and organising the house
  - Help with indoor and outdoor cleaning and maintenance jobs
  - Help with cooking evening meals
  - Help with walking/feeding the dogs
