  Beschreibung

  We are livestock farmers (horses and sheep) in northern Iceland.
  It's a family run farm, we live on the farm, as does our staff,we all simply become one big family.
  We have 78 horses (Icelandic horses), and make our living from doing horse tours for tourists, and more ways to support the farm with them.
  We also have 17 sheep, and two friendly, fun and calm Icelandic sheepdogs (our native dog breed).
  My husband, Láki, is born on the farm. Our (adult) children are the 5. generation born on the farm. I (the wife) moved to here in 1995.
  We're 55 years old, others on the farm (our son, his girlfriend, our staff) are in their twenties.

  You'll get to know the climate and culture, especially the rural culture of livestock farmers and country side people in Iceland. And the nature here is stunning. If you like hiking, there are lots of oppurtunities here. Our neighborhood is Fljot, we are on the Troll peninsula (Trollaskagi), and we are a farm horse tours on Google maps. This is in northern Iceland.
  It's a super fun cultural exchange, getting to know Iceland in so many ways, and having fun with us the local farmers.
  We also love to share, so if you in general simply want to learn about Iceland, the farming or history or nature or whatever, we're all yours. :)

  Arbeit

  Are you looking for a fun adventure in Iceland?
  
  We need someone pretty strong for just a week, to clean out in our little sheep stable. My husband usually does this, but his back has big problems now, so he can't, and I (the lady farmer here) am not strong enough.
  It's simply for this project. This might be 20 hours or less, depending how well it goes for you. :)
  
  Coming sometime in September or early October 2026. The work has to be finished ca. October 15., as we need to stable the sheep then (they are still out on pasture).
  If you want to do more work, we have more things that need to be done, but this is not a requirement at all. We can handle the rest.
  
  You need to:
  Have no big dietary obstacles (not vegetarian, pescaterian or such).
  Accommodation and all food ia provided on the farm . We pay a wage for every hour worked in accordance with our country’s regulations.

  Room in the home / on the farm, private or shared. Good wifi. You'll also be a part of the home, eating meals in the home with the family, and such.

  We live in a very rural and beautiful area, with lots of space, and arctic beauty, we're pretty close to the ocean, and breathtaking mountains.
  Yes it's very rural in Iceland, there are usually at least a couple of kilometers between different farms, and 25 km to the next villages. So, there is a lot of peace and space. A hidden pearl to escape from the high energy modern cities in other countries.
  You can come with bus from the airport (there is an international airport in the towns Keflavik and Akureyri), and we'll help with all the domestic travel plan.
