  Beschreibung

  My project focuses on education, especially teaching students real-world English speaking skills that can help them build confidence and broaden their opportunities. This is a new and growing initiative, and we’re looking for volunteers who can help us develop the project, bring fresh ideas, and support our learning activities.
  I live on Belitung Island, an amazing yet underrated place known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, small islands, and rich local culture. Despite its beauty, not many people around the world know about Belitung. Through this project, I hope to bring global connections to my island by welcoming travelers, exchanging cultures, and giving local students the chance to learn from people with different backgrounds. By hosting Workawayers, I want to create a space where learning, community, and cultural exchange can grow together and your help will play an important role in making that vision happen.

  As a host, I love creating simple social activities where Workawayers can connect with my family, my friends, and the local community, whether it’s joining local gatherings, exploring beaches or other interesting destinations, or helping with small educational/environment projects. I can share my knowledge about Indonesian culture especially from Belitung island, as well as guide you to the best local food and hidden natural spots. By hosting people from diverse cultures, I hope to learn new perspectives, exchange stories, and build meaningful friendships that help bring a bit of the world to my island. Let’s learn from each other and create good memories together.

  Arbeit

  One of the main roles for volunteers is to be an English-speaking partner for my students. Many of them rarely have the chance to practice real conversations with foreigners, so your presence can make a huge difference. You will help students build their confidence by engaging them in simple daily conversations, asking questions, sharing stories, and encouraging them to express themselves without fear of making mistakes.
  
  Your support will help improve their pronunciation, fluency, and vocabulary in a natural and fun way. Whether it’s chatting during group activities, helping with small speaking exercises, or simply interacting with them during free time, your contribution will give them valuable exposure to real-world English that they cannot get from textbooks alone.

  Unterkunft

  The accommodation I offer is simple, comfortable, and suitable for travelers who enjoy a peaceful environment. You will have a private room with a bed, a fan/AC, and basic furniture for your stay. The house is located in an accessible area. You’ll share common spaces such as the bathroom, kitchen, and living area, and you're welcome to use these freely. One thing to note: workawayers might stay at a nearby boarding house or rental room close to my home.
  
  We will provide 3 meals a day in exchange throughout the duration of stay. We'll do that by provided meals based on workawayers preperences and the availability of resources in the area. However, we'll also provide sharing meals so that workawayers can experience cultural exchange.
  
  We are not asking for any fee or payment from Workawayers. All participation in this project is completely free, and volunteers are welcome to join and help without any charges.

  _Things to do in your time off_
  Belitung Island has plenty to explore during your free time. You can visit beautiful beaches, go island-hopping, explore local cafes, or take short trips to natural spots like lakes, or forests. If you enjoy photography or quiet walks, the island is perfect for that too. I’m always happy to suggest places and even accompany you .
  
  _Lifestyle & House Rules_
  I live a simple, peaceful lifestyle. My home is clean, quiet, and family-friendly. Workawayers are expected to respect the shared spaces, keep things tidy, and be mindful of noise, especially at night. Smoking is allowed only outside. I value open communication, kindness, and respect, so feel free to talk to me anytime if you need anything. Nevertheless, workawayers are expected to stay at a nearby boarding house or rental room close to my home.
