I had a wonderful experience working for Anne and Florian. The family is welcoming, kind and always happy to help. And, the kids are lovely and fun to talk to.
The job is fast-paced and time goes by quickly, as there are loads to do. However, the workload is manageable and chill.

Iro stayed in our house for a few weeks and she did a great job. She is friendly, sensitive and hard-working. She was very interested in the "Allgäu" and the people here. We took her to our hearts and learned a lot about Crete and olives. She is always welcome back here.

My first experience on this beautiful and diverse platform is beyond words. The host family is very hospitable, warm and approachable, it gave me the opportunity to get to know the genuine and authentic reality and culture of the Allgau region. My experience lasted for a month, where I had time to work, travel, meet new people and get in touch
… read more with nature. Bavarian culture is more than interesting, with many traditions that are still alive. As for the work, depending on the day, the hours varied. The work was cleaning and general maintenance of the apartments and the organisation of the two hotel complexes. In the evenings I chose to have dinner with the family, or travel by train (it's delayed but it takes you everywhere :) ), walk, rest or discuss various things with the family or workawayers. Anne, Florian, Prisca and Isabella, it was a pleasure spending this month with you and I look forward to meeting you again! Oberstaufen is a beautiful village surrounded by forests and mountains, so it really is a nature lover's paradise, with lots of hiking trails starting near the hotel and lots of public transport available to take you anywhere else you want to go, so you can really make the most of the free time that you have to explore the wonderful region of Bavaria.
I was very happy with my accomodation, which was a cozy room with a private bathroom and a view to the mountains.
The work is basically preparing individual breakfast orders for the guests in the morning and then cleaning the appartments, so the intensity and the work hours depend completely on how busy the hotel is at the moment. You might have a very quiet week with only 3/4 hours of work a day and a lot of free time to socialize and explore (or relax), and then the next week might be a lot of hard work and long hours, so it varies.
Overall, I'm very happy to have had this experience, I had a wonderful time enjoying the bavarian countryside, having small day-trips to other cities, and making new friends.

I have stayed with Anne, Florian and girls for 3 months helping during the season. They are very nice and helpful people, I enjoyed getting to know Allgäu culture, customs and local food. They were happy to share with me interesting stories about the region and as well very patient to teach me german language. Sometimes we enjoyed walking together
… read more in mountains or having a picnic, they showed me beautiful places and they were always helpful with any touristic information for example about different trails. The area is amazing, surrounded by mountains, I loved to have a walks in the nature during my free time. I had many different tasks during my stay there like gardening, cleaning the rooms, office job or breakfast preparation. There were many different projects to choose from. Tasks were usually discussed every day during the breakfast. I really enjoyed my time in Oberstaufen together with the family, thank you very much and hopefully see you again !!!

The work on a day can often be the cleaning of rooms, but there was also a bounty of different projects to be done which I could indulge in instead of the cleaning for some variation.
