  Hi guys !
  
  After 10 years working, backpacking and woofing around france and abroad, I moved to the Basque Country in 2015.
  I am taking care of an orchard of 300 apple trees (6500 m2) that I have been restoring since 2021.
  With the apples I make juice and other products (ORGANIC)
  Since this year, I have also been lent a field (5000 m2) which I am preparing to plant Small Fruits and Aromatic and Medicinal Plants.
  
  My house is located on 4000 m2 of land in Sare. I live there with my 5-year-old daughter Leiane, my dog Jaya and my cat Ninette. My partener Jérôme comes some days.
  The area is really very nice, the village is lively and closed (15 min walk) with all comodities (minimarket, bakery, butcher, post office, pharmacy, ATM, several bars and restaurants).

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  SARE is a typical Basque village and there are many events around this culture.
  My daughter goes to “Ikastola” (Basque school), speaks “Euskara” and I am learning.
  I am bilingual in English, I also understand Spanish.
  Jérome speaks Spanish and a little bit english
  So we can work in English but life at home and meals will be in French.
  
  I have acquired quite a bit of knowledge in organic farming, gardening, DIY and I will be delighted to share with you what I know. But I still have a lot to learn and I like the exchange and to learn from others !

  Arbeit

  IMPORTANT: Sorry men, for the moment, given the configuration of the place and that I live alone with my daughter most of the time, I only welcome women or possibly couples.
  
  Activities/objectives for this year 2025:
  - currently and until the end of August : Finish the processing workshop and prepare the field for the installation of small fruits next year
  - Sept-Oct-Nov : Ensure the harvest/processing of apples
  - All year round : Continue the vegetable garden + continue the diy in the house
  
  So many possibilities ! and you will help me with what there is to do at the moment
  The schedule is flexible, activities are likely to change depending on unforeseen events/priorities/weather
  You will participate for 20 hours per week, 5 days/week.
  Generally, it's quite physical, so you need to be in good shape and like manual work.
  
  I host workawayers for 2 weeks (no less), with experience, it's the perfect length for everyone ! At least at my place.

  You will be accommodated in the guest room at home which you may share with an other workawayer (girl)
  
  Meals are vegetarian, organic and/or local, with a little meat and fish once a week
  We each take turns cooking and you must know how to cook a balanced meal without meat
  Lunch and dinner are eaten together, but there's no obligation.
  It's a roommate atmosphere, except I do the shopping ;-)
  On the other hand, everyone pitches in! Dishes, cleaning, etc.

  We can organize the working time as best as possible so that you can enjoy you free time !
  We are at the foot of the mountains, there are beautiful hikes to do, the ocean 30 min by car, Bayonne/Biarritz 40 min, Spain 5 min.
  Bus departure from the village for Saint Jean de Luz, Bayonne and other villages.
  We can advise you based on what you want to do.
  
  Since I can no longer travel very far (or for long) at the moment, I'm happy to welcome people from here and abroad, backpackers, it makes me feel like I'm traveling a little !
