    Cook & Wrangler (July–September 2026)

We are currently looking for a Cook and a Wrangler to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 season, from July through September.

If you've always dreamed of cooking in an authentic Western saloon surrounded by the mountains and forests or leading guests on horseback through the Canadian wilderness, this could be exactly what you're looking for.

    But first, let's be honest.

    This is not a holiday.

Working on a guest ranch is rewarding, exciting, and unlike any other job—but it is also hard work.

    This is ranch life.

You get up around sunrise. You go to bed late. In between, you work. Some days are long, some are physically demanding, and during the busy season everyone pulls together to make sure our guests have an unforgettable experience.

The pay isn't going to make you rich.

    What we do provide is:

    Accommodation
    All your meals
    A beautiful place to live
    A close-knit international team
An experience you'll remember for the rest of your life

Because your room and board are included, you'll have very few living expenses while you're here, making it possible to save a good portion of what you earn.

    Everyone helps with everything.

Even if you're hired as a cook or a wrangler, that won't be your only job.

As a small team, we all pitch in wherever we're needed. Depending on the day, you might help with:

    Cooking and food preparation
    Guiding trail rides
    Restaurant or bar service
    Housekeeping
    Grounds maintenance
Looking after the horses and other animals
    General ranch duties

No two days are the same, and that's exactly what makes ranch life so rewarding.

    Who is this for?

If you're looking for an easy job to finance a long vacation, this probably isn't it.

If you're looking for something where you clock in at 9 and clock out at 5 every day, this isn't it either.

But if you're on a Working Holiday Visa, this is the working part of your adventure—the part where you gain experience, meet amazing people from all over the world, learn new skills, and save money so you can enjoy the travelling part afterwards.

We are a 300-acre guest ranch located in the heart of a beautiful Provincial Park, British Columbia.

    Our ranch features:

    An authentic Western saloon
    Log cabins
    A campground
    A horseback riding operation
Horses, Highland cattle, chickens, dogs, and cats

Animal lovers will feel right at home.

Our team consists of around 7 staff members, and between us we speak English, Dutch, French, German, and Hungarian.

Life here is busy, challenging, fun, and incredibly varied. You'll meet guests from all over the world, spend your days outdoors in one of Canada's most beautiful parks, and become part of a team that genuinely looks out for one another.

If that sounds like the kind of challenge you're looking for, we'd love to hear from you.

You’ll meet guests from all over the world—of all ages and backgrounds—as well as many wonderful Canadians. During your time here, you’ll build close friendships and meaningful connections with guests, fellow staff, and our neighbours.

If you are interested in horsemanship, you will receive a solid introduction to Western riding, guiding, and horse care. We’re happy to help you develop skills in these areas and support you as you learn. You can also explore other areas such as animal care, hospitality, and farming—wherever your interests lead you.

    Arbeit

Our team is made up of several key roles: a maintenance person (craftsman preferred), one or two Wranglers, a chef, and one or two helpers who assist mainly with cleaning and laundry.

    – Maintenance (Handyman):
Responsible for all repairs, fencing, lawn mowing, cutting firewood, and general upkeep. We prefer someone with experience as a craftsman, builder, or handyman. If you are comfortable working with a chainsaw, we’d love to hear from you.

    – Wrangler (Riding Guide / Horse Care):
Wranglers must be very experienced riders, with at least 10 years of weekly riding experience, and physically able to lift a 15–20 kg Western saddle onto a horse. A solid understanding of horsemanship is essential. Since we host international guests, fluent English is required. Wranglers also help with general duties such as cleaning rooms, serving dinner, or assisting in other tasks when fellow team members have time off.

    – Chamber Maid / Housekeeping:
Daily tasks include cleaning rooms, doing laundry, and helping with breakfast or check-ins/outs. As we have only a few rooms, the cleaning portion takes around four hours per day. There are plenty of other areas where you can assist depending on your interests—such as caring for chickens, horses, and livestock, lawn mowing, and general ranch help.

    – Chef:
You’ll have a great deal of autonomy. Responsibilities include planning, ordering supplies, preparing meals, and managing the kitchen. The ranch serves one set dinner at 6:30 pm, five days a week, with the goal of creating a delicious, casual dining experience within our Western-style saloon/restaurant. We offer competitive wage, gratuity, and if needed 'room & board' and the usual days off. We are kind of a big family and everybody helps everybody... A good team-spirit is a very important part of our Ranch.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada, and we require a commitment from the beginning of May until the end of September.
We offer a competitive wage, room and board, gratuities, regular days off, respectful and supportive management, and a fun, positive work environment!

International applicants are welcome! Please note that if you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, a Working Holiday Visa or another valid Canadian work visa is required.
