    Beschreibung

We are a non-profit organization and recreation/learning center for the children in San Ignacio, Nayarit - a rural small town in the Bahía de Banderas area. This is a place where the local children can be and feel free to express their feelings. It is a place to play, create, teach, learn, share, laugh and grow.

We are open Monday-Friday from 3pm-7pm. There are 146 children that are a part of the kids club and there is on average 20/30 children, 2-6 staff & volunteers, a goat and a lot of dogs there every day,

Every day we have a different activities such as yoga, cooking, art, schooling, reading etc.

We recently opened a community farm, to grow organic food and help the local community, this community farm is a result of the current pandemic and the need of providing good quality food for the children of the centre and their families.

Our team of psychologists, teachers, artists, athletes, professionals and volunteers has built a program of art and sports classes and workshops, field trips and games to create new opportunities and a better future for the kids of this community.

We seek to change their present so they can have a better future.

We don’t accept punishment as a disciplinary method. We want to cut the chain of violence, aggression and frustration by implementing the reward system called “Token Economy.”
A key element to our work is emotional support.

We require a minimum of a two-week commitment for volunteers to stay

We have 2 bunk beds on our land and we are now READY for AWESOME volunteers to come play with and teach the kids! A grocery bag with basic ingredients is provided every week to help prepare your meals. This is not include veggies or fruits but depending of our garden times, you can have fresh greens..

Please note we are a rural community. As we are close by the river, surrounded by trees, in a tropical climate, we have to learn how to share with insects as mosquitos, spiders, aunt, scorpions, bees, snakes…
We have electricity, but we have NO internet access and there is no hot water or sewage system, we have a stove to prepare meals and a nice cob oven to make bread or pizzas!

The list is endless! If you possess skills that would have positive impact on the children and community of San Ignacio we would LOVE to hear from you! From farming, teaching and creating to technology, building and repair we will appreciate the support.

We would love people to come and make games for the kids (out of recycled materials and nature), gardeners to help with the garden, videographers to make videos for la casa.

We currently open a community farm to grow organic food for the community, we need hands to help us maintain this beautiful project!

We are open Monday-Friday from 3pm-7pm. Volunteers will be needed during that time and perhaps an hour before and after for set up/clean up.

We usually come to work from 3pm to 7pm, sometimes we come earlier to work in the comunity garden but volunteers stay alone during the night and the week end.

Sayulita (~8 minutes) and San Pancho (~20 minutes) are short bus rides away and they are amazing towns full of every type of health and wellness offering you can think of. Great surf is close by!
