Join our small, unconventional family a 16-hectare stone farmhouse estate at 900 metres in the French Pyrenees. We are a composer, a filmmaker, and a child who runs wild and knows the names of stars. We are building a life, growing food, creating a food forest, baking sourdough, caring for animals, restoring old stone and clay walls, and learning how to live as close to nature and as self-sufficiently as possible. We are in the middle of that process, and we love sharing it with people who are curious about the same things.
This is a very remote place, above a river, surrounded by wild nature. At night it is completely dark and completely quiet. The Canigou is at our 'door' , the sacred mountain of the Catalans and the Mediterranean is an hour away.
We believe that nature is not just a place you visit. It is something you are part of. Come and remember that with us. We hope to create a place that one day is available for everyone who needs a reminder of being part of nature. A place that can help orientate and reconnect with a natural way of living.

We live to gather around the fire in the evenings. Food is a big part of life at the place. We share breakfast, lunch and dinner together and cooking is something we do together too. We go to the local market, harvest vegetables from our greenhouse, bake our own sourdough bread, and make healthy snacks along the way. Meals here are slow, seasonal, and shared. Music is part of life here we have a recording studio on the estate, and if you play or sing, we make music together. Sometimes that leads to performing in the small stone church in the village.
We will take you into the mountains sleeping in a refuge around the Canigou mountain, walking routes few tourists find. On slower days we might drive down to the Mediterranean, or visit the Salvador Dalí museum across the border in Spain.
We homeschool our son, and Workawayers sometimes become part of that sharing what they know, teaching by simply being themselves.
What we can share with you: how to live close to nature, how to work with animals, how to read a landscape, how to slow down without stopping.
What we hope to learn from you: what makes you come alive. Your knowledge of edible and medicinal plants, permaculture, ecological building, conscious living. Every person who arrives here brings a world with them and we are genuinely curious about yours.

What you'll be learning and doing

This is a place where we are learning how to live close to nature, with the seasons, with animals, with our hands. We are not experts. We are people in the middle of a process, and we love sharing that process with others who are curious about it.

We are building toward a life that sustains itself. That means growing vegetables, creating a food forest, learning which plants heal and which feed us, caring for the land and the animals, keeping the river clean, tending the forest. Not as 'tasks' but as a way of being. We believe that nature is not just a place you visit. It is something you are part of and something many of us have forgotten. If you come here, we hope you will feel that too: the slow return to something real.If you are drawn to natural building, clay and lime walls, off-grid living, permaculture, or simply to a life that moves at a different pace there is room for you here. Workawayers are not involved in any rental activities. All help and exchange is focused on our private home, the land, the garden, and our personal projects, building a self-sustaining life together.

    Your accommodation
You have your own private room in the farmhouse. We share the kitchen and living room spaces where most of the real life happens. Sanitary facilities are good and shared.
You are sleeping at 900 metres in a stone house that has stood for centuries, surrounded by wild nature. At night it is completely dark and completely quiet.

    Who we are
I live here together with my son and his father. We are divorced, but we chose to stay and found a way to build something together that neither of us could have built alone. A different kind of family. But it works.
A composer, a filmmaker, and a child who runs wild and knows the names of stars.
This is our home and our ongoing project a place we are slowly, carefully turning into something that sustains itself and the people who pass through it. We hope to create a living place that always has room for others to reconnect with nature, and through that, with the nature inside themselves. To restore what we have forgotten: that we are part of all life, not separate from it.

Pets You are welcome to bring your pet, but please consider this carefully. We live in wild nature boar, deer, foxes, and birds of prey are our neighbours, and we want to keep a peaceful relation. Around the house our chickens run freely. We share our days with rabbits, cats, goats, and Patou our very large, very gentle Pyrenean Mountain Dog. We welcome your pet only if you are certain it will not disturb or harm our animals. If there is any doubt, please leave them at home and come yourself.
