  Our sanctuary was created with the aim of conserving the biodiversity of the Atlantic Rainforest. We are located in the village of Tejupeba, in Sergipe, in an area where we still have fragments of forest, where several species of endangered animals live, such as the Monkey Guigó-de-coimbra-filho (Callicebus coimbrai), the Monkey Macaco-prego-do-peito-amarelo (Sapajus xanthosternos) and the Collared Sloth (Bradypus torquatus).
  
  We work to reforest the place, also raising awareness and sensitizing the local community to enable biodiversity to suffer less human impact. We have buildings and structures that generate less impact and avoid contamination to the natural environment, such as dry toilet made with bioconstruction, an ecological shower, a B.E.T. (ecological septic tank) and rainwater collection in different buildings.
  
  In order to generate income and continue working, we began to operate with more conscious, respectful and contemplative Ecotourism, enabling knowledge sharing and visits to a reduced number of people. For the few visitors, we offer options for guided tours, night walks in the forest, sensory experiences, camping and accommodation. In the region where the Sanctuary is located, we carry out actions to plant tree seedlings, give lectures in schools, organize film screenings with themes related to conservation and collaborate with the mobilization of local craft fairs that serve as an incentive for residents of the village who have artistic skills.

  Nosso proyecto surgiu com o objetivo de conservar a biodiversidade da Mata Atlântica. Estamos localizados no povoado Tejupeba, em Sergipe, em uma área onde ainda temos fragmentos de floresta, onde vivem diversas espécies de animais ameaçadas de extinção, como o Macaco-guigó-de-coimbra-filho (Callicebus coimbrai), o Macaco-prego-do-peito-amarelo (Sapajus xanthosternos) e a Preguiças-de-coleira (Bradypus torquatus). Atuamos reflorestando o lugar, também conscientizando e sensibilizando a comunidade local para possibilitar que a biodiversidade sofra menos impacto humano.
  
  Temos construções e estruturas que geram menos impacto e contaminação ao ambiente natural, como o banheiro seco feito através de bioconstrução, um chuveiro ecológico, uma B.E.T. (fossa ecológica) e captação de água das chuvas em diferentes construções.
  
  Para poder gerar renda e continuar trabalhando, passamos a atuar com um Ecoturismo mais consciente, respeitoso e contemplativo, possibilitando conhecimento e visitação para número reduzido de pessoas. Oferecemos, para os poucos visitantes, opções de visitas guiadas, caminhadas noturnas na mata, experiências sensoriais, acampamento e hospedagem.
  
  Na região onde o project está inserido, fazemos ações de plantio de mudas de árvores, palestras em escolas, mobilizamos projeções de filmes com temáticas relativas à conservação e colaboramos com a mobilização de feiras de artesanato locais que sirvam de incentivo para moradores do povoado que tenham habilidades artísticas.

  Being in nature and in a rural environment can be an excellent opportunity to learn about biodiversity, the Atlantic Rain forest and its species of fauna and flora that live there, and also learn about the habits and traditions of the inhabitants of this region.
  
  Our project will be an experience of collaboration in the conservation process, so that we can minimize the impact that we humans cause on planet earth, which is our big and beautiful home, which we share with other species that we need to protect. (:
  
  It will be possible to learn, and perhaps also teach, about more ecological alternatives for using the land and the natural resources that the planet offers.
  
  I, Tito, am willing to share some knowledge I have acquired in recent years and I love learning too. So sharing ideas, visions and knowledge is a keyword here. Come with me? :)

  Estar em meio à natureza e em um ambiente rural, pode ser uma excelente oportunidade para aprender sobre biodiversidade, sobre a Mata Atlântica e sobre as espécies de fauna e flora que nela vivem, e também para aprender sobre os hábitos e tradições das pessoas que habitam a região.

  The Sanctuary was founded in 2021, so we are still in the process of structuring and growing. Our main purpose is to work to conserve and reforest, and we have identified that working with visits, ecotourism and accommodation is a great alternative to generate income and to continue our work. We also started environmental education activities for youth in local schools.
  
  Currently, we may need help in different areas of activity, such as:

  O proyect surgiu em 2021, então, ainda estamos em processo de estruturação e crescimento. O nosso propósito é trabalhar para conservar e reflorestar, e identificamos que trabalhar com visitação, ecoturismo e hospedagem é uma ótima alternativa para gerar renda e assim continuar conservando. Passamos a trabalhar também com visitação em escolas da região, numa tentativa de conscientizar e sensibilizar as crianças e adolescentes.

  Unterkunft

  As we still in the process of growing, we can offer the possibility of camping at the place. We have a dry toilet that can be used by the volunteer, as well as an external ecological shower (rainwater capture).
  
  If the volunteer does not have a tent, we are available to lend one and also offer a mattress, pillow and bedding.
  
  We have a kitchen at Espaço Sucupira, which is our visitor center. It can be used by volunteers, who can store their supplies in it and also cook.
  
  We have an unstable mobile signal, but in some parts of the project we can make calls or send and receive messages by WhatsApp. Here, the best mobile operator is Vivo.
  
  As a courtesy, a bicycle can be loaned so that the volunteer can tour the region or travel to neighbour villages (15 minutes cycling to the nearest one). In the nearby town, which is very small, you can find 2 grocery stores and a house that prepares snacks on weekends.

  Por enquanto, como ainda estamos em processo de crescimento, podemos oferecer a possibilidade de acampamento no. Temos um banheiro seco que poderá ser utilizado pelo voluntário, bem como um chuveiro ecológico externo (através de captação de água da chuva).
  
  Caso o voluntário não disponha de barraca, nos disponibilizamos a emprestar uma e também de oferecer colchão, travesseiro e roupa de cama.
  
  Temos uma cozinha no Espaço Sucupira, que é o nosso centro de visitantes. Ela poderá ser utilizada pelos voluntários, que poderão guardar seus mantimentos nela e também cozinhar.
  
  Temos sinal de telefone instável, mas que em alguns pontos do permitem a realização de ligações ou envio e recebimento de mensagens pelo WhatsApp. A operadora brasileira que melhor pega é a Vivo. Estamos em processo de rotear internet desta operadora, para melhorar a conexão.
  
  Como cortesia, poderá ser emprestada uma bicicleta para que o voluntário possa passear pela região ou para que possa se deslocar até os povoados vizinhos (15 minutos pedalando até o mais próximo). No povoado próximo, que é muito pequeno, é possível encontrar 2 mercearias e uma casa que prepara lanches durante os finais de semana.

  In their free time, volunteers can walk in nature, observe birds, monkeys, reptiles and amphibians, walk through the forest day or night, cycle, meditate, read, rest in a hammock, take photographs, play board. In the region, you can visit other towns, take a boat trip to Mén de Sá Island, go to Caueira beach or even go to the capital of the state of Sergipe, Aracaju, where you will have more services available.
  
  We can lend you a bicycle for trips nearby, but to go to more distant locations, you will need to use a taxi, motorcycle taxi or public transport (bus).

  No tempo livre, os voluntários poderão passear em meio à natureza, observar os pássaros, macacos, répteis e anfíbios, caminhar pela floresta de dia ou de noite, pedalar na bicicleta, meditar, ler, descansar na rede, fotografar, jogar em jogos de tabuleiro. Na região, poderão conhecer a outros povoado, fazer uma travessia de barco até a Ilha de Mén de Sá, ir à praia da Caueira ou até ir à capital do estado de Sergipe, Aracaju, local onde terão mais disponibilidade de serviços.
  
  Podemos emprestar uma bicicleta para passeios nas proximidades, mas para ir para locais mais distantes, será necessário usar táxi, moto táxi ou transporte coletivo (ônibus)
