Beschreibung
We are "El Coya" and "Silvita". We build together a big family with 8 children and 3 grandchildren so far. Our family is the most important thing in our life and this is shown in the house where we live. An old house that lives open to whoever visits it, always with someone ready to drink some "mates", share chats and sing together playing the guitar.
We live in Yala, our place in the world... a village only 12 km from the capital of the province San Salvador de Jujuy and on route 9 on the way to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, 20 minutes away from the beginning of the world heritage region. The town is surrounded by the green of the yungas, with hills, rivers, lagoons and a flora and fauna that allows us to live every day connected with nature.
Some of our daughters have traveled and have had magnificent experiences from Workaway. That is why the idea of receiving people from all corners of the world to generate an exchange of cultures, knowledge and stories that allow us to continue growing and enjoying the richness of life itself.
In the house there are always things to do... work in the garden and maintenance, construction, cleaning when we rent for tourist and much more...
The whole family consists of "El coya" (59), "Silvita" (55), Belen (30), Manuela (29), Valentina (28), Geronimo (27), Cecilia (25), Simon (23), Gregoria (21), Teresita (20). As we said, we are a BIG family... where there is plenty of noise, laughs, abundant food, music and visits...
Our youngest daughter, "la teresita" has an intellectual disability that demands special attention. She is not always at home, but when she shares with us it is always good to be with her and play, accompany her, be attentive to what she needs.
We all speak Spanish and only some of our daughters and sons-in-law speak English, so it is a great challenge for those who want to improve their language skills.
We are anxious to start with this experience and we really want to open our doors so that people from all over the world can live the experience of being part of an Argentinean family from Jujuy!

Somos "El Coya" y "Silvita". Formamos juntos una gran familia con 8 hijos y hasta el momento 3 nietos. Nuestra familia es pilar de nuestra vida y así lo demuestra la casa donde vivimos. Una casona vieja que vive abierta a quien la visite, siempre con alguien listo para tomar unos mates, compartir charlas y cantar juntos tocando la guitarra.
Vivimos en Yala, nuestro lugar en el mundo... un pueblo a tan solo 12 km de la capital de la provincia San Salvador de Jujuy y sobre la ruta 9 camino a la Quebrada de Humahuaca a 15 minutos del inicio de la región patrimonio de la humanidad. El pueblo se encuentra rodeado del verde de las yungas, con cerros, ríos, lagunas y una flora y fauna que nos permite vivir cada día conectados con la naturaleza.
Algunas de nuestras hijas viajaron y han tenido experiencias magnificas a partir de Workaway. Es por eso que surge la idea de recibir personas de todos los rincones del mundo para generar un intercambio de culturas, conocimientos, historias que nos permitan seguir creciendo y disfrutando de la riqueza de la vida misma.
En la casa siempre hay cosas para hacer... trabajos en el jardín y de mantenimiento, construcción, limpieza cuando alquilamos para turistas, trabajo en la huerta y mucho más...
La familia completa se compone por "El coya" (59), "Silvita" (55), Belén (30), Manuela (29), Valentina (28), Gerónimo (27), Cecilia (25), Simón (23), Gregoria (21), Teresita (20). Como dijimos formamos una GRAN familia... en la que sobra el ruido, la risa, la comida abundante, la música y las visitas...
Nuestra hija menor, "la teresita" tiene una discapacidad intelectual que demanda atención especial. Ella no se encuentra siempre en la casa, pero cuando comparte con nosotros siempre es bueno estar con ella y jugar, acompañarla, estar atento a lo que necesite.
Todos hablamos español y solo algunas de nuestras hijas y yernos hablan Ingles, por lo que es un gran desafío para quien quiere mejorar su idioma.
Estamos ansiosos por comenzar con esta experiencia y realmente queremos abrir nuestras puertas a que personas de todo el mundo puedan vivir la experiencia de ser parte de una familia argentina y bien jujeña!!!

The capital of the province San Salvador de Jujuy is only 10' away so it is always possible to share a beer, go to the theater and have a walk around the northern city.

En primer lugar la experiencia de vivir en una familia 100% argentina y jujeña. Adentrarse en la cultura, la comida, la historia y la música del norte argentino.
A su vez la ubicación es ideal para quien viaja y tiene intención de conocer la región:
El comienzo de la Quebrada de Humahuaca se encuentra a tan solo 20 minutos. Purmamarca 30', Tilcara 40', Humauaca 1h.
Los alrededores de Yala están repletos de caminatas y lugares para disfrutar una naturaleza pura. Muchos miembros de la familia realizan actividades deportivas en la zona y seria un placer poder compartirlas con ustedes. Ideal para amantes del running, trekking y ciclismo.
La capital de la provincia San Salvador de Jujuy se encuentra a tan solo 10' por lo que siempre es posible compartir una cerveza, ir al teatro y pasear por la ciudad norteña.

Arbeit
The help will always be varied and many tasks can be performed depending on the need and skills of the workaway.
We ask for about 20 hours per week, which can be organized according to the traveler's plans.
The tasks can be:
Garden maintenance
Help with the vegetable garden
Cleaning, tidying or house work
Help in construction (we are planning to start an ecological house).
Collaboration with "la teresita". Accompany her, play with her.
Receive guests and prepare the house for them.

La ayuda va a ser siempre variada y se pueden realizar muchas tareas dependiendo la necesidad y las habilidades del workaway.
Pedimos alrededor de 20 hs semanales, que pueden ser organizadas según los planes del viajero.
Los trabajos pueden ser:
Mantenimiento del jardín
Ayuda con la huerta
Limpieza, orden o trabajo en la casa
Ayuda en construcción (tenemos proyectado comenzar una casa ecológica)
Colaboración con "la teresita". Acompañarla, jugar con ella.
Recibir huéspedes y preparar la casa para ellos.

Unterkunft
The workawayers have different spaces to accommodate them according to availability.
On one side there is a small independent house which has its own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Ideal for a couple.
On the other hand, in the house there is a large room with independent entrance and bathroom.
The exchange includes meals. A varied diet, with lots of fruits and vegetables.
We are not vegetarians but we have no problem receiving those who do not eat meat.
We like to share the table and that the meal is a moment of encounter.

Los workawayers cuentan con distintos espacios para acomodarse según la disponibilidad.
Por un lado hay una pequeña casa independiente la cual cuenta con cocina, baño y habitación propia. Ideal para una pareja .
A su vez, en la casa hay una habitación amplia con entrada y baño independiente.
El intercambio incluye las comidas. Una dieta variada, con muchas frutas y verduras.
No somos vegetarianos pero no tenemos problemas en recibir a quien no coma carne.
Nos gusta compartir la mesa y que la comida sea un momento de encuentro.

The house has wi-fi.
There are buses to the city with stop at the door of the house (35' to the city).
We provide all meals and to make the exchange more enjoyable we prefer to share at least 1 meal a day (usually lunch).
We don't have a specific diet but we eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, regional food and on weekends we almost never miss "el asado" (barbecue).
The town has basic grocery stores, a greengrocer's, a gym and even some small restaurants.

La casa cuenta con wi-fi.
Hay colectivos hacia la ciudad con parada en la puerta de la casa (35' a la ciudad).
Brindamos todas la comidas y para que el intercambio sea mas rico preferimos compartir al menos 1 comida al dia (generalmente el almuerzo).
Con respecto a la comida no tenemos ninguna dieta especifica pero nos alimentamos con mucha fruta y verdura, comidas regionales y los fines de semanas casi nunca falta "el asado".
El pueblo tiene almacenes básicos, verduleria, gimnasio y hasta algunos pequeños restaurants.
