Beschreibung
We are a British couple who have moved to France recently. We are in the Charente Maritime, a lovely region in South West France close to the cities of Bordeaux and La Rochelle. The house we have bought is a large manor style house with 2 other smaller houses. One of the houses is a 2 bed gite with a hot tub which awaits anyone who is willing to come and help us with the renovation of the main 5 bed property.
The type of works that need doing are:
Updating some of the plumbing and creating a second bathroom
Plastering and making good walls and floors after our recent re wire
Painting, decorating and help with interior design
Manufacturing curtains and other soft furnishing
We would very much welcome anyone willing to help with the above works and would be very pleased to host you in our lovely gite and provide you with all meals, wine and other groceries alongside convivial company. We will also ensure there is enough time for helpers to explore the area which is close to the coast and within wine and Cognac production areas.

Although we are British, we have immersed ourselves into the French community in which we live and believe that travellers visiting us will be able to enjoy French culture and mingle with the French community in order to improve language skills and understand cultural differences. Additionally, our property is in the countryside and very close to nature. Travellers could benefit from a understanding of rural issues and the French management of their environment

Unterkunft
We have a self contained 2 bedroomed cottage attached to our main house. We would however be catering for travellers in the main house. The gite has a hot tub and in the summer has access to the swimming pool. We will also be able to house other travellers in the main house if the the gite is occupied.

The area is the second most sunny area of France after the Cote D'azur in the South of France. The area has lovely rolling countryside with access to wonderful beaches and the fantastic cities of Bordeaux and La Rochelle. We have 2 cars so may be able to let travellers borrow a car depending upon age, licences etc
