  Beschreibung

  My name is Ida and I live with my husband Ola and our five children (age 6-18) on a farm in Österlen, Skåne, south of Sweden. We have dogs, cats, horses, some sheep and chickens. We have a dream to live sustainable, growing our own food with permaculture and agroforestry. I work away from home daytime as a therapist in CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) with adults with ADHD and autism, and Ola works with old building techniques to restore old houses typical for the area, only using natural building materials. He also makes straw roofs.
  
  We live in the village Rörum, in the heart of Österlen. 2 km from Sweden's most beautiful beach Knäbäckshusen. Österlen is an area in Sweden with beautiful nature, very popular for tourists during summer. We have many national parks in the neighborhood. Österlen is just one hour away from Malmö, Sweden's third largest city, and also Copenhagen is just 2 hours away.
  
  Summer on Österlen is very hectic with people everywhere, in the fall and spring we can enjoy the beautiful nature almost by ourselves. People living in the area usually moved here to be close to the beautiful nature, the sea and to grow their own food. Many people are dependent on the tourist season. In the fall there is apple harvest time, Österlen is covered with apple trees. In the spring we get to enjoy them all covered in flowers.

  Our primary goal is living sustainable, close to nature. We are in the beginning of this journey, creating our dream. Österlen is one of the most beautiful places in Sweden, you will not be disappointed by nature here. If you like to explore subjects like psychology, personal development, spirituality, horses or old building techniques we use here in Sweden, we will have a lot to talk about. :)

  Arbeit

  We live on a farm so we have a lot of building projects, but also many garden projects and fencing for the horses and sheep. We need help with both animals and building and gardening projects. We usually don't travel since it is hard to travel when it comes to find people to look after the animals. It would be great if we could go away for a couple of days.
  
  We do not sell anything, everything we produce is only for private consumption. No work will be related to any business.

  Unterkunft

  You will stay in an apartment just for Workawayers. Ola built two beautiful apartments on the farm. They were finished in 2015. Both apartments have two big bed rooms, and the large apartment also has a sleeping alcove in the living room. In the summer we rent the apartments out for tourists visiting the area, so we keep a high standard. We also live in the building in a separate apartment.

  Was noch ...

  We would prefer 2-4 workawayers at the same time since both me and Ola work away from home daytime most working days. Working alone can be lonely otherwise. I work part time so I will be home in the afternoon. We think it would be a good idea to eat together twice a week. It is hard to find a room where we all would fit since our family is seven people just as it is, so I think it is difficult to eat together daily because of that. But we will meet daily chatting and our door is always open.
  
  Staying here on Österlen I hope you love nature, because their is no nightlife in Simrishamn (closest town). But take the train for an hour, or borrow our car, and you are in Malmö, sparkling with nightlife and food from almost every culture in the world.
  
  If you like to ride, it can be possible to ride my horses if I know you are a good rider. I am an experienced rider in academic art of riding.
  
  You can plan when to work and when to have free time. If you prefer to work with me, perhaps we work in the weekend and you have free days during the week instead.
  
  We are open for workawayers usually in spring and fall, when the apartments not are rented out.
