I stayed with Caroline and Olivia for 6 weeks and I enjoyed every minute if it :-). Caroline is very welcoming and kind and they live in a beautiful house in the mountains. Every day I was overwhelmed with the beauty of my surroundings. I mainly helped in the household, cleaning, cooking, garden work and taking our their amazing dog Brownie. The
… read more work was very chill and Caroline encourages taking initiative to organise your own work day. When there was leisure time Caroline would take us out climbing and hiking to get to know the mountains and the environment. Her daughter Olivia, is an amazing young woman. She is very active and independent and likes to hang out. April is a bomb of creativity and energy and ready to seize any opportunity that presents itself to her. She seizes the bull by the horn and rides with incredible drive and enthusiasm and the willingness to push her limits in exploring. She had amazing ideas to reorganize my house and in our current life circumstances, I was happy to let her
… read more creativity flow. She took Brownie on many runs and cragging adventures. She has a thirst to explore the world multitaskingly and the energy to make it happen.

I stayed for seven weeks with Caroline and Olivia. From the first day, I was invited along to some unbelievable experiences until the day I left. I learnt a lot about living around such huge beautiful mountains. It takes someone with the drive to do this workaway experience as the village is very quiet, although when you put yourself out there
… read more there are loads of opportunities to have some fun.
The work is very flexible and you become a part of the household very easily. Thanks, Caroline and Olivia for the summer!

Julie spent most of the winter with us. She is quiet force who was always there to help when asked, adventured with the dog, baked us nice cinnamon buns and made us some nice meals and joined us on many adventures. She thrived here by making her own friends and making the best out of her stay by going skiing most days and enjoying the Verbier
… read more life. Julie played with Olivia and knew to set boundaries when needed. During her stay, our family man, Adam, lost his life in a helicopter accident. Julie pushed her departure date to provide us with support, both emotionally and helping me with tasks to figure out this new life and easing the pain of all things at this early stage of loss. Julie is caring and embraces all things life. Thank you Julie.

I spent about three months here during the winter season. This journey has given me many adventures and experiences I will take with me for life. It has allowed me to see many new places and meet many wonderful people, for which I'm incredibly grateful.

… read more way to make my stay the best possible, and I couldn't thank them enough. Getting to know them has been lovely, and I almost feel like they have become my second family. I really enjoyed spending time with them, and not least with Olivia. In addition, Caroline has been incredibly good at connecting me with others, leading to me making friends for life.
Not least, I have been able to ski a lot, almost every day, if I wanted to. In addition, they have a very good climbing facility in Verbier. Apart from that, I have spent a lot of time on trips with the dog either on foot or by bike in beautiful Swiss alp scenery (Brownie is just the best dog in the world, and I might have to bring him home in my suitcase). They also brought me along for some of their trips, allowing me to see a lot of other skiing facilities.
In summary, this has been an adventure I will never forget, and it has helped to shape the way forward in my life. Anyone fond of mountains, walks, skiing, and dogs can expect a wonderful stay with wonderful people.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

… read more of time trail running around Verbier right from their backyard, walking the dog Brownie, playing with Olivia after school and I was even able to do on a solo day trip to Zermatt. Caroline went out of her way to pass on her insight about hiking and running trails in the area and was even so generous to connect me with a friend in my desired industry who allowed me to shadow for a day. Caroline and Adam's careers in the outdoor world are an inspiration to me and helped me better understand the career I want in the intersection of film in the mountains. They truly made me feel a part of the family and I hope to be back some day!!

Staying with Caroline and Adam was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They immediately welcomed me into their home and made me feel like one of the family. I learned so much from them, not only about the mountains and skiing, but also about life. I was included in so much of their life that it felt like I had been there for more than just 3

Olivia is an incredible kid. She’s strong and creative, and very fun to hang out with. I had a great time trying to keep up with her skiing and watching her choreograph dance routines in the living room. It truly felt like having a little sister.
Brownie, the dog, is the love of my life and I wish I could have brought him home with me. While everyone was at work and school, brown dog and I went on countless walks and ski tours together. He’s the best trail partner out there.
I know I’ll make my way back their direction at some point and I hope that time comes quick because I miss them all so much!

… read more helping me improve my climbing. Olivia is a wonderful child, extremely outgoing, has an endless imagination, and is really keen to learn new things (I started trying to teach her Spanish, so I hope she will continue to work on it).
To any future Workawayers, their profile is very accurate. I didn’t have a set amount of « hours to work » each week, so maybe the lack of rigid structure isn’t for everyone, but if you just have good communication with Adam and Caroline, clean up after yourself and do a bit more here and there, I’m sure you’ll have a great time. The experience will be what you make of it. Would love to go back one day.
