Guillermo stayed with us for 6 days and was a great help in both the house and the garden. He supported us with daily tasks and also gently helped us practice Spanish in a natural, easygoing way.

Laila and her husband Mahmoud became for us like family-members during their stay for four weeks. We had so much fun, inspiring and intensive talks and were very interested in our way of life.
They taught all of us in a playful way in arabic language.
After weeks, our two older boys still count arabic when playing "hide and seek". Still got the
… read more loud screaming of Mahmoud in my ears, when he was found by the boys!!
They were very far-seeing in the household and supported us a lot, Laila cooked delicious meals so we learned also some things and know now how to make good Falafel, for example. Mahmoud and Laila were so warmly to the boys like they were their own.
We had a wonderful time with them and highly recommend this couple.

The five weaks we spent with Martin and Bieget were as good as we expected, they are a nice and pleasant family. Their boys are also very nice and amazing. The help required consisted in housekeeping, playing with the three beautiful boys, teaching language and some times cooking.
It was a great time eating the most healthy food we had ever had

And also learning german language from them and get to know alot about German life.
We had alot of fun with Loranc (our best german teacher :) )
Vitus (the most beautiful laugh I had ever heard, until now I can remember it)
Oswin (the best, the funniest, unbelievable boy, always smiling and running, we will never forget him).
Klara (the smart girl who can remember all lesson from one time).
The house is beautiful and the accommodation offered was also really comfortable.
We played some times cards, it was so funny.
The village is not particularly big, but they were very helpful by taking us to Rostock when we need to buy some stuff.
The landscape all around is beautiful and there are many promenades, the place is ideal for people who like to walk in the nature and relax.
We had a chance to be in their small boat and some times to go with them watching a funny show by Martin.
We want to say thank you "Martin" for helping us in everything.
We want to say thank you "Berit" for making us feel like family and teaching us how the healthy life looks like.

… read more knows a lot about psychology, children and alternatives to the German school system. We have had some interesting and intelligent talks about these topics which I enjoyed a lot. The children have a lot of energy and are eager to play but can also be quiet and relaxed. Lorenz, Vitus and I spent about an hour driving a toy tractor around in the garden which was great fun. When you find a book, they will listen attentive when you read for them as well.
The food here is amazing. Martin makes some great alternative vegan food which tastes fantastic. I also improved my German. Especially Martin, Berit & Lorenz are good at helping you with the language. And I learned a lot of other important things as well. Nun sind schon zwei Wochen ohne Ingrid vergangen und sie ist immer noch präsent - auch durch die gebastelten Laternen uvm. Uns war sie eine Quelle der Inspiration, was noch mehr DIYS-Dinge und umweltfreundliches Handeln anbetrifft. Ich achte nun auch auf Aluminium in meinem Umfeld und versuche dies zu reduzieren.

… read more Herz geschlossen. Ingrid hat ihnen abends so viel vorgesungen und vorgelesenen, bis ihr die Stimme versagte. Uns Großen hat sie auch durch ihre Freude am Spiel begeistert, teilweise mit clownesken Zügen. Sie war uns eine große Hilfe an den Abenden, an denen Martin zum Auftritt fuhr und auch zwischendurch hat ihre aufmerksame Art uns gut getan.

… read more „Drachen“ gesucht. Lorenz und Vitus sind fröhliche, selbständige und sehr kreative Kinder und auch Baby Oswin hat meistens ein strahlend lächelndes Gesicht.
Martin und Berit sind sehr liebevolle Eltern. Berit ist eine 100%ige 24 Stunden-Mama; Martin ist ebenfalls immer für seine Familie da, wenn er nicht gerade einen Auftritt hat. Ausserdem sind beide wunderbare Köche und haben mich mit veganem Essen verwöhnt.
An meinen freien Tagen habe ich mir Rostock angesehen – eine wirklich sehenswerte Stadt! Und einmal fuhr ich nach Warnemünde, einem Stadtteil von Rostock, der an der Ostsee liegt.
Das einzige, das für mich etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war, ist der Lebensrhythmus der Familie. Ich stehe gerne früh auf und gehe nicht zu spät schlafen – bei Martin, Berit und den Kindern ist es eher gegengleich.
Die Zeit hier ist viel zu schnell vergangen und ich bin mit vielen neuen Eindrücken und Erfahrungen doch ein wenig schweren Herzens nachhause gefahren.

My friend and I spend our first workaway-experience at Martin and Berits' wonderful place for a week. It was so interesting to see and experience how they live an alternative lifestyle, so far from our own.
They live on the countryside close to Rostock in beautiful surroundings. The fall is really amazing there!

We wanted to improve our german language, and the family was really good at helping us with practicing and learning new words.
The kids, Lorenz and Vitus, are so adorable and full of joyfull energi. Also the oldest, Lorenz, was a very good teacher for our german practise.
Martin and Berit made us feel at home and let us be a part of the life from the second we came. Martin cooks delicious vegan food (we're looking forward to a cookbook!) Berit is a very caring and loving mother, and we learned a lot from both of them.
The week ended to soon, and we left with so many good memories and natürlich new friends.
We can only recommend this family.
