Hi,
I am a male in my 40s who owns a 40 acre farm-stay in southern Tasmania. It's a beautiful parcel of land in a little valley and I'm currently working to put 30% of it back to bush. I have a number of very friendly scottish highland cows, chickens, two dogs and the friendliest pygmy goats you will ever meet. I need help with the running of the homestead and restoring the land. Wherever possible, I would try and match jobs to peoples skills and interest. Ideally, people who stay here would love either animals, nature or working with their hands in a relaxed, quiet environment.
In terms of location, I am only 10 kms from the nearest town which has all the services you need and 30 minutes from Hobart which is a beautiful port city. There is so much to do in Tassie and the property is very centrally located so the perfect base to explore from.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

I run a farm-stay on the property so there are plenty of opportunities to meet fellow travelers if you would like to join our regular farm tours. I also run Landcare working bees and you are welcome to join my social soccer team for training twice a week during the season. I have two dogs that love the beach and you would be very welcome to join.
I am also happy to share any of the skills and knowledge I have learnt in my 40+ years while we are working together. I have lived in quite a few countries overseas and travelled to many. I love learning about new cultures and would look forward to sharing yours, particularly any cultural foods!Ayuda

While I do have a farmstay, workaway helpers will not be working on the business.Idiomas

I have a spare room in the house with a double bed.
Algo más...
I chose our property because of its central location for tourism so there are loads of things to do during your time off - beaches, national parks, festivals, Hobart, walks, wineries - the list is endless. There isn't public transport from the farm so ideally you would have your own car to travel around. For workers staying for an extended time period we can potentially come to an agreement on the use of my car.
I am a single male and I live here by myself in what is a rural area. I know this could be confronting for some people if they aren't aware of this in advance and I understand why. I do run the farm-stay on the property so there is likely to be other guests here but not in the house. I have only the one spare room so can only accommodate couples or two people willing to share the same bed.Un poco más de información
