We are a couple living in a beautiful scenic area of North West County Sligo in Ireland, at the foot of majestic Benbulben, just ten minutes drive from several beaches sought after for swimming, surfing, sailing and horse riding.
We have lots of space in our thatched cottage which is attached to our home as our children have moved away.
We live on a small farm, with a small flock of sheep, a vegetable garden, and plenty of learning opportunities; as I spin, dye and knit wool from our sheep, I love foraging for wild plants and making jams. All needs are provided, and as I am coeliac myself, I cook coeliac-friendly and wholesome meals. we are open to learning and teaching.
This is not a business; we just provide for ourselves and need a little help with the upkeep of the farm. We also are rebuilding a traditional cottage.
We would love to host a person who is interested in the countryside and likes to help us care for the sheep and help prepare our wild garden for next year's crop. Enda is Irish, I am Dutch; I also speak German reasonably well.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Workawayers will have an opportunity to take part in leisure activities like sea swimming or hiking. Furthermore there is lots of learning in living in a thatched cottage, sheep management, gardening, and learning about spinning wool and dyeing with natural materials. We live ten minutes walk from the bus stop which takes you to Sligo town where there are intercity train and bus routes to the rest of the country. Sligo is a great area for music and the arts, there are galleries , music venues and theatres in the surrounding towns. If you have an interest in learning Dutch Irish or English we are happy to help.

We are looking for somebody to help prepare our garden for next year's crop. The vegetable garden requires a lot of help. We are not a business; the garden is only for our own use. We also would like some help with caring for our small flock of sheep, checking and counting them, helping with lambing and general care. The sheep are just for our pleasure and to keep the fields tidy. After lambing, we will focus on the preparation tasks for rebuilding a traditional cottage. This involves the treatment of timber (painting), reclaiming and separating building stone and removing decomposed thatch material from the cottage ruins. We would be very happy for the guest to help us with this project. We would appreciate it if the workawayer used their initiative and were open to other tasks such as cooking.

The thatched cottage has a bedroom and sitting room available solely for the guest. The kitchen and bathroom is to be shared with ourselves. There is an additional small bathroom in an outside building . We hope to include the workawayer with our meals and they are welcome to use the kitchen any time.
We have lots of space surrounding the house and sheds for a camper van or caravan if the workawayer does have their own accommodation or transport.Algo más...
Sligo is rich in history and there is a lot of archeology. Sligo is known for its traditional Irish music and there are plenty of sessions in local venues where music is played. There are several art galleries in Sligo town and a theatre with a varied programme. There are a number of beaches close by, good for surfing , swimming and walking. The Dartry mountain range is on our footstep, well known for its fabulous scenery. There is a bus stop ten minutes walk from the house, to Sligo town or to Donegal. We travel regularly to Sligo in our car and are always happy to give a lift and explore local sights also. We are generally busy during the day with various tasks, in a relaxed way. We would like if you could feel at home and work with us for a few hours,. At nighttime we spend time reading, spinning, chatting and maybe go for a walk.
