It was a great experience to meet Doninik, He was helpful, happy and nothing was too much trouble ( including the pebble crush finish on the concrete ) which would try anyone’s patience, ( ha ha ) . We hope his adventure is rewarding and we look forward to seeing you him again in the future. ( He was great at pickleball 😊)

Maren and Ian are both very impressive people. They are very friendly, active and successful in what they are doing. Their House is beautiful on a nice beach and they provide you with a nice room with a great view and delicious food. I had the pleasure of staying with Maren and Ian for a little bit over three weeks in exchange for some help in and around the house. It was a truly special and rewarding experience. Most of my tasks involved gardening work, mostly weeding, and I also helped with cleaning the windows. The tasks can vary, but everything is discussed and agreed upon

Maren and Ian are incredibly kind, warm, and inspiring people. They offered me a beautiful private room with a sea view, my own bathroom, and even a small kitchen area. A lot of luxury, that made me want to return the favor. Despite having my own space, I always felt welcome in the rest of the house—whether for a cup of tea or coffee, or to join them in the evenings for dinner. We shared dinner together almost every night, they invited me over to meet their friends, often we played a game cards in the evening and we had lots of laughter.
They’ve really built something wonderful together by the sea—a little paradise on earth. I’m truly grateful to have been a part of it for a short while. I can wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys nature, peace, and meaningful exchange. I hope Maren and Ian can continue to enjoy this beautiful place for many years to come.
One last piece of advice: a car can come in handy to explore the area by yourself. It depends on how you want to spent your free time. If you like beach walks, shell hunting, chilling in the sun and read a book you probably don´t need a car. If you like to be surrounded by other people , shops or explore a bigger area then a car comes in handy. Note that you cannot even go to a supermarket without your own vehicle. They drive into town a couple times a week and then you can join them.
A wonderful experience with Miku & Shion, A pleasure to have them , nothing too much trouble for them . Would love to have them back again. We wish them all the best in their travels.

A wonderful experience with Mareile & Andreas. Nothing was too much trouble . They did a fantastic job in the garden and it was lovely to have them join us of an evening and our social activities .We hope to stay in contact with them in the future. Thoroughly enjoyed their stay with us

We spent two wonderful weeks at Maren and Ian's place in November. Maren and Ian were fantastic hosts who looked after us very well. Maren was great to talk to and provided us with everything we needed. For example we got fresh towels and sheets after a week and she filled the fridge with all the items we asked for for breakfast and lunch.

… read more was always kind and made sure we didn't work too long in the sun. It was fascinating listening to the stories of all his adventures and we look forward to reading his autobiography! We usually spent a few hours every night together, enjoying Maren's outstanding meals for dinner.
She really is an excellent cook! What we also really liked was that they included us in their social life like playing lawn Balls and Pickle Ball at the Hideaway Rec Centre and they even took us along to meet some of their friends and to play billiard. After some time we even felt a little like being part of that nice community.
Their wonderful house is situated right at their own beautiful beach with turquoise warm waters. We went swimming straight after work every day and were glad we had brought stinger suits with us. We often saw Reef Sharks and Sting Rays ( apparantely totally harmless) swimming right at the shore and once even dolphins. It was a joy to work to the chirping of their almost tame magpies and we also saw kookaburras and wallabies. It was very special to work so close to the ocean on their property. We always started around six am when it was still fairly cool. We did lots of weeding and sowing new lawn, raking of leaves and general tidying up of the garden. The work was fair and easy to complete, leaving us lots of free time to enjoy the surrounding area. Apart from the sport activities we went for long walks along the beach and went on a snorkling tour to the Whitsunday Islands.
This was our first workaway place and we couldn't have found a better one! If you want to go to the Whitsunday region, consider yourself very lucky if you get accepted by these two kind and wonderful people!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

You would find it very difficult to find anywhere better than this place. If you get a chance to stay here then you are very, very lucky. … read more are very busy people. Their house is amazing, and it it is truly in an idyllic setting. My room was perfect, I fell asleep to the sound of ocean waves and woke up to the same, in addition to laughing kookaburras. The bed was very comfortable, as were the sheets and pillows. The work was all very enjoyable - some household cleaning and help editing Ian's writing. I was there for 13 nights, but I would've loved to stay longer. I was glad I had a car so I could explore the beautiful area. If you are lucky enough to do a Workaway with them, I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you Ian and Maren. We worked in the mornings on the garden/ house and had the afternoons to enjoy the beach and surrounding area. The location is remote, so it would be an advantage to have your own car.
We would have happily stayed for longer and we were sad to leave!

Matthew was an excellent worker. He stayed with us for 3 1/2 weeks. He was a pleasure to have here. Knowledgeable and experienced. He used machinery and power tools with competence and was well capable of think ahead and using his initiative.

Ian and Maren were delightful. The property is so amazing. A Canadian style log and stone house with beautiful furnishings. My bedroom downstairs was really comfy with a intimate view of the ocean, literally 40 metres outside my door.

My tasks were varied, laying water pipe, laying turf with repairs to the property in between among other duties. I had access to a bob cat, which was lots of fun, a motor bike, a small tractor and a plethora of tools to help me out with my tasks.
I really enjoyed hanging out the two adorable resident dogs, Coco and Jessie. Both quite intelligent.
