In the mornings, I would sometimes help Cherry out with cutting vegetables which I found therapeutic. It never got boring because Cherry and I always had something interesting to talk about - e.g. culture, food, K-dramas etc.
The girls are extremely sweet and never run out of things to play with. As a tip for future workawayers here, if either of them don’t want to practice reading or writing, create the atmosphere of reading and writing (for instance, read your own book). Then, they will bring their own books to read. You can read for Lea and just read something of your own next to Chloe while she is reading then discuss the book after a couple chapters! I found this extremely helpful and hope this could be a useful piece of information for you as well :)

We were very happy having her around and she got along well with our girls and everyone in the family. Kristyna played with our 2 girls and took care of them very well. Sometimes they did crafting, building LEGO , singing and baking. Kids were so joyful when they stayed with Kristyna. You know they miss you

Kristyna is very responsible, patient and always smiling. We can count on her. She has a big heart and willing to help me around the house. She is the best baby-sitter ever!

Everyone in the family loves her. She integrated well into our family. We enjoyed every moment with her.
After she is back home, we still keep in touch and have exchanged some letters and postcards which i find it very beautiful. I wish our relationship lasts forever. Sometimes our kids had video calls with her. Thanks a million for your kindness and my husband and I very much appreciate that :)

I didn't really expect to have that much free time, but thanks to that I was able to visit some of the beautiful cities of Belgium. And I was even encouraged to travel even more than I did.
In the afternoons I played with the girls. We played with lego, drew, spend time in the garden or read books. Girls have a lot of toys so there is no need to be worried about them being bored.
Every day I was lucky to eat delicious Thai food which I am really glad for and it is one of the things I miss.
Eventhough the parents are really busy with their Thai take-away, they tried to show me some of the places around their home and we made a few trips. One day we even went to Antwerpen.
I will try to come back next year because it was a really beautiful experience and I loved it.
It was my first Woraway experience and I'm happy that I chose this family.
I recommend anyone to choose this family and go to Belgium.
I wish them the best I can and I can't thank them enough for making this experience unfogerttable for me.

In addition to take care the kids, some time I help cherry to prepare some food for cooking. So I also learn how to cook Thai food! If you are a foodie, you must like here. Cherry cook very well. I ate many different Thai food here. Really enjoy about that. And I share some famous food from Taiwan as well. They loved it, too.
We spent some free time walking around the river before dinner. They took me to some attractions near the house in the weekend. Moreover, we traveled to France together. It was an amazing trip. We ate a lot of seafood and saw the peals on the beach. It’s a wonderful and memorable trip for me.
They treat me like part of the family. I feel comfortable in their house. It is my first time to be Workawayer but I had a good experience about it. Thanks for them to give me an awesome memories for it! Hope we can see each other in the future!

How to start describing my experience with this beautiful family ... It was absolutely amazing!! I was very nervous before I went to Cherry´s house since this was my first workaway excperience. Besides, Léa's English has improved significantly in a month as Amira had read so many English books for Léa. I notice that Léa can now speak better and understand well English.
Furthermore, Amira played with our 2 girls and took care of them very well. Sometimes they did crafting , dancing , singing and baking. Kids were so joyful when they stayed with Amira. You know they miss you so MUCH!!!!
Even Amira is still young, she is very responsible and I can count on her. She has a big heart and beautiful both inside and outside. She was the best baby-sitter ever!
Amira loved my foods so much and she always enjoyed what I prepared for her :) Amira is a great baker, we had chances to bake together with the kids and I discovered the best banana bread ever.

After she is back home to the US, she proposed to us an English class online for Chloé and Léa. She was so kind and kept hier promise. Despite having my time cut short here due to the coronavirus crisis, it was a delightful stay and I am so happy that I got to spend a month here. Cherry and Boune were so kind and generous and they truly made me feel like part of the family. The extent of my job here was to play with the girls, Lea and Chloe, and teach them English. … read more through lots of reading, games, and playing in the garden when it was warm enough! I was very impressed by their English capabilities as they are only 4 and 7 and are fluent in both Thai and French as well. Playing with them all day almost didn’t feel like work, and I am very glad that I got to spend time with these two bright and amazing girls!!
Cherry, the mom, is an amazing cook and is even planning on opening a takeaway restaurant soon. I honestly had some of the best food I’ve ever eaten here, and I enjoyed talking to her about food as well as baking with the kids. Boune, the dad, was also very kind as well and I enjoyed having conversations with him about film photography.
Their house is located in a suburb of Charleroi. Only a 10-minute drive to the Charleroi-Sud train station, I found it very easy to travel around Belgium while I had the chance. From what I could tell the community they live in was very nice and I enjoyed the beautiful trails that were nearby their house.

I experienced a month with Boune and his family gaining knowledge about Thai culture which was both fascinating and eye-opening. Bourne very kindly collected me from and returned me to the airport when leaving which was very much appreciated. I listened with interest to the recollections of Bourne’s travels and seen the many beautiful photographs
… read more as evidence of his family’s adventures. I found his aquarium of fish very calming and beautiful.
Hospitality is most definitely one of the top attributes Cherry possesses. A very gentle mannered, attractive lady whose aim is to make you feel very welcome, just as she would with any member of her family. She super succeeded at that! We had many long conversations both at home or when we went out together on so many subjects which were both enjoyable and most engaging. Cherry kindly showed me the area and accompanied me to Brussels for the day. We joined a guided tour too which was very informative but sadly was interrupted by a riot which was a little scary. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the Brussels Christmas markets too. After advice from Cherry/Boune I visited local museums which are not to be missed.
Now the girls ...very beautiful, (hence they are both models) and very confident in their use of the English language. Leah is only 3 years old and yet does extremely well conversing in French one moment and English the next! Leah’s English did improve during my stay. Both girls are most impressive. The girls are loving sisters but on many occasions really show their sister rivalry which is when the “sharing is caring” advice would be given to encourage compromise. We had a nightly opening of the advent calendar and stories which I found very entertaining as did they.
Finally I take this opportunity to wish Cherry well in her passion of becoming an entrepreneur and restaurateur. She certainly has the culinary skills, the desire and the dedication to be successful and so I will follow her progress with interest. She spent hours producing some wonderful food /special desserts for the family and other friends. She has the patience and is willing to put in the hard work to produce fabulous results. So success is not far away I am sure.

Amy and I went out for a day trip in Brussels and we both enjoyed the guided tour around Brussels. Most of the time after dinner we had interesting conversations and we exchanged a lot our ideas regarding entrepreneurship. She gave me lots of advise. Sometimes we could change from one topic to another in an evening. So much laugh and so much fun. I had a great time and really enjoyed chatting with her.

Cherry and Boune are such easy going, lovely people! Not only did we have great conversations, but also some of the best food I've tasted!!! Cherry is an amazing chef and was happy to show me some tips and recipes. I've never eaten so good in my life!!
The family took me out on some amazing adventures, too!
The room they set me up in was so cozy with lots of privacy when I needed it.
I have lots to say about Charleroi as well. It may seem like just an industrial city, but it has so much to offer! There is a beautiful community of people that you don't often find in the big, touristy cities. I'd highly recommend renting a bike from Brillo and exploring the unique city-scape and all the strange little coal mountains! Livre ou Verre is such a cool cafe! It's also really easy to explore neighboring towns, forests, and even getting to the bigger cities.
I will never forget my time spent with this incredible family! I hope that our paths will cross again many more times.

I spent three weeks with this lovely family in March. I basically spent most of my times with the two girls - Chole and Lea, conversing and interacting with them in English, playing games, and reading stories. Their English conversations are quite good for their ages, especially Lea, who is not yet three, but often said unexpected English words or
… read more phases, and read me a few bedtime stories in French that was quite amazing. In fact, the girls are quite advanced for their ages to be able to speak three languages, and the fourth one for Chole will be Dutch in her up and coming school year.
The mother, Cherry, is a culinary artist and her Thai dessert creations are like professional. On my last Friday we went to the Brussels weekend market and ate a huge platter of the most incredible seafoods - cooked right in front of us as we waited. If you love seafoods, this is the place.
The father, Boon, works a lot, but also a good father and spent a lot of times with his girls, and reading stories to them. His collection of beautiful fish aquariums are soothing.
This is a lovely Thai family implanted in Belgium. They are non-smokers and non-drinkers, so keep that in mind if you are interested in becoming a part of the family. You have your own room on the third floor loft. The location is in a small community, but not far from the bus stop and the Charleroi train station to other city like Belgium and others.
Not sure if I will return to Europe in the future, but if I do, I will definitely spend more times here. Thank you Cherry, and Boon for having me and the very best of luck for the girls, and I know they will have a bright future in whatever fields they have passions for.

We stayed with this incredibly generous and warm family for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year. … read more words and phrases, which we think is somewhat advanced for her age. However, where they need help most is in the area of English language comprehension, reading and writing.
Rest assured, you will be well fed because Cherry, the mother is an excellent cook and an aspiring restaurateur. Boune, the dad is a film-photography and camera enthusiast, well-travelled and aspires to expand his fresh-water aquarium. They have never failed to treat us as part of their family including having us celebrate Christmas, New Year and Epiphany with their extended family members.

One week was very short and I wish she could stay longer with us. I promise to visit her one day in Denmark or Japan. Hope to see you soon my dear Mitsuki :)

I really had a great time with nice family for one week. I wanted to stay here longer. Cherry took me to lots of places and we went shopping together. One day we went to Antwerpen and I really enjoyed shopping with her. She is always friendly to me and cooked Thai food for me, which was so good. I am so happy to make Japanese food with her.

Moreover, I really enjoyed playing with two lovely girls, Chloe and Lea. They are so sweet and not shy to me. We played with toys, painted, watched some movies and sang songs.

We had a luck to meet and welcome Jane and her adorable daughters :) They spent a week here in February. Jane helped me a lot on the house cleaning. She was very diligent and took on the tasks without asking. Thanks so much Jane and I really appreciate your assistance :)
Daisy and Mecedez are sweet girls and get along

We chatted a lot, we went to the museum. They loved my foods so much and I was so happy to see Daisy ate so well :)
