Descripción
We live since June 2011 on our farm in the most western part of Germany. The dutch border is only a few 100 meters away. The next dutch city is Sittard (3km). The next bigger german city is Aachen (35 km).
We are a family of five. Our son Noah is born in August 2010, our second son Mika is born in August 2012 and in May 2020 our little Jonah is born. Alwin is working fulltime in the IT business and Stephanie is a Psychomotricity Therapist (Master APA).
We have a big garden with a lot of vegetables and a orchard directly at our house.
We also own a piece of forest.
Animals: 1 cat, 1 dog and 20 chickens.
We would be happy if you could help us 5 hours a day. (5 days a week. If you help on a saturday you can take another day off, Sundays are always off). We are quite flexible with working hours and working days. So you will always find a good mixture between time off and working times.
P.S. We only can host people with a valid health insurance.
It would be good if you provide us a copy of your passport on arrival, or we can take one by ourself.

Travellers can practice German and Dutch language with us and the rest of the extended family. They can also experience typical lifestyle in a german family. We like good conversations with our guests and share as many meals as possible.

We need help for the work in the garden or orchard or around the house (depending on the time of the year). Also a helping hand in the house is needed (looking after the kids or cleaning).
Sometimes some woodwork in the forest has to be done or other renewing activities (e.g. painting) at our house.
Currently we are still working at our house therefore people with experience in the construction area are also more than welcome.

We live close to the dutch border. Maastricht, Aachen, Cologne and Düsseldof are easy reachable by bus or train. Also Amsterdam, Brussels and other Dutch and Belgium cities are a maximum of 2 hours away.

Sam was a great helper at our place. He really did a great job. No work was to hard for him. He splitted wood for days and never asked to stop after his normal working hours. He also works very independent. In the evening he was always up for a good conversation with some beers. Our doors are always open for you Sam!

Chiara stayed at our place for 2 weeks. She is very good with kids and have a really good working attitude. She sees where the work is and works very independent. We can highly recommend Chiara as a volunteer. We hope to see you back next year.

I was very happy living with the family! The kids are cute~ The hosts were super nice! They are patient when I have lots of cultural questions; They showed me how to cut the glass; They had many good suggestions for me to explore the district. Thank you for involving me, I enjoyed these 2 weeks very much!

We hosted Brian for 2 weeks in April 2013 on our farm. He is a really nice guest where you can have good conversations with. Also he had always a helping hand where we needed him. And last but not least: He is a really good artist... We can totally advice to take him on your couch!
