We are a budding educational permaculture biodynamic farm in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our ultimate goal is to provide inspiration and training to people with all abilities including "diffabilities" to encourage sustainable independent living skills as well as holistic health care and nutrient-rich diets. We teach carpentry, cooking, preserving, ceramics & art, as well as gardening/farming, tincturing, natural body care, cob building, mycoremediation and mushroom farming, plant propagation, and orchard & forest management... and much more. We often have artists and interns who stay from 1-2 weeks learn and share, making friends for life. We believe in being good neighbors and stewards of the land, and we take responsibility in sequestering carbon and enriching land for generations of viability. We are currently still in the building phase of our magical land but we've already built a large chicken coop/run, beehives, rainwater reclamation, hugelkultur, greenhouse, and tiny log cabin. The large geodesic dome house has a huge teaching/entertaining kitchen and loft for visitors, large screened-in deck with outdoor grill/kitchen, infrared sauna, pottery studio, and 6.5 kW photovoltaic solar array on top of our passive-solar designed south-facing porch. This is an oasis tucked away amongst a sprawling suburb, very close to a thriving city... it doesn't get much better than this!

Multicultural, multilingual, international house: we are from Pakistan, South Africa, and USA. We are all spiritual-yet-not-religious, love music festivals, and good food made from scratch from homegrown fruits and veggies! Our life is full of rare & medicinal foods, like tzimbalo melon pear, poha/inca berry, pie melon, carolina pine berries, bitter melon, in addition to the usual fruits and veggies, wild foods, foraged mushrooms in our woods, honey from our apiary, and cultivated mushrooms on logs. We like to mix drinks with homemade bitters and locally distilled delights, I love to make various foods from around the world, and I particularly love to bake gluten-free things and teach people about nutrition (as I am a certified nutritionist). Both my husband and I have WWOOFed before we met, and worked on diverse farms including legal cannabis farms and incubator/community farms and also both have worked in carpentry/remodeling. You can follow us on facebook and instagram if you look us up to see what sort of projects we have going on!
We're even more excited to learn from YOU and YOUR experience, especially those traveling internationally!
We also believe in providing ample creative tools and resources for all of our guests and friends, so pottery, painting canvas, woodworking, sewing, and other arts & crafts are available to do here in the dome, pottery studio, and workshop!
My ultimate goal is to provide a "healing opportunity" for those who need to just "get away" for a while and "reset" their hearts mind and bodies to be more aligned with nature and creative consciousness! We have a nice infrared sauna for detox, but I usually sweat enough in my gardens so the sauna is essentially brand new! Our gardens and meditation/prayer spaces throughout the property provide peace for reflecting and decompressing from our chaotic world. I'm honored to be able to provide this and we all agree this place is incredibly healing.
We have accumulated reclaimed & upcycled materials with which we want to build another rainwater reclamation system, geodesic dome greenhouse, a tent platform, outdoor shower, and a tiny house. There are endless gardens in various stages of development, and we need help planting more medicinal herbs, butterfly gardens, setting up aquaponics and greywater remediation ponds. We can't wait to teach mycoremediation and cob-building workshops, and show our new community these fun alternative ways of living sustainably!
We KNOW how to do it all, we HAVE the materials, we just need FRIENDLY assistance to complete these projects! We are experienced farmers who have recently (2 years ago) started this whole new educational homestead, and are in a bit over our heads with all the projects!
Our organic gardens are bursting with summer's bounty and I love to bake and cook gluten free made with love. The housemates are artists and [professional] organic farmers, we have ALL the skills and ALL the tools and ALL the materials, we just need a couple extra hands to knock out these projects! We also have been designing a few murals and outdoor paintings to beautify the outdoor walls/spaces, and various creative projects for those who prefer to paint or mosaic. If you're strong and would like to learn, but don't yet know how to build, we can teach you!
We also need help with social media and marketing, I use instagram and facebook but not nearly as often as I "should" to teach/show people all the awesomeness we're doing here!

SPARE ROOM Downstairs in Dome: closest to the shared Bathroom and laundry.
STUDIO WORKSHOP: 1000 sq ft. workshop is partially carpeted and has its own kitchenette with stove/oven, microwave, some furniture, etc. It's the same space as the woodworking and printmaking art studio, and there's no bathroom (we'd have to set up a composting toilet). We have king-size mosquito-net canopy if you would prefer to stay in the workshop.
CAMPING: on the deck or anywhere in the 10+ acres of forest along the stream. One of our first projects would be to build a tent platform next to the stream, but we have various large tarps and there is ample camping space across the property.
Fourth option, only if you're looking for long-term and very serious:
We literally have SO many reclaimed materials we're ready to start working on building a tiny house. There are over 3 different tiny-house approved locations on this property upon which one could be built and lived in if you would like to arrange a 6+ month agreement, we're willing to help collect all materials and tools if you were to build (or help build) it, you could stay long term!
Wherever you stay, we can provide extra bedding, sheets, pillows, etc!
I'm happy to help provide healthy food, as I usually cook 2 meals per day. There are 3 housemates and we all help cook, so breakfast and dinner is provided most of the time. Lunch is usually an independent meal, there are usually leftovers or fresh veggies and a pot of rice available. Staples like quinoa, rice, condiments, etc, are provided and we have an extra fridge if we need to turn it on to accommodate the extra guest(s)!
We are in the middle of wealthy suburbs but close (less than 15 minutes) from the city, including a dozen breweries within 10 miles.
Kokabooth amphitheater (for concerts and outdoor movies/picnics) is a fun 3.5 mile bike ride away.
Whole Foods is 3 miles away, and there are other/cheaper grocery stores within a mile's walk through our woods, across the stream, and through the adjacent wealthy neighborhood.
There is sadly no good public transit in this area.
