Travelers would have a place to stay, enjoy a meal, and travel to nearby safari, and beach areas in Hambantota. Travelers will immediately notice the simple nature of the place as it is initially built for my dad who is a Buddhist monk. Upstairs is basically my father monk's place of living when he is visiting the town, he rarely visits and stays. If my father visits us, we close the place for visitors to look after him. It is newly constructed to make it look like a simple monk lodging upstairs. However, the place in itself is not a temple. No monks are living in it throughout the year.
I have two brothers who are Buddhist monks. One is living in Colombo, and he is in his early thirties. He is a principal in a small monastic school. My other brother is in mid thirties and he is a Buddhist monk for twenty years and living in USA for the last ten years. He helps me with my daily expenses and he thankfully built me this home, with the upstairs for my father.
There is a temple near by in the village too, and travelers can explore the local temple and observe its functions and shrines. Additionally, travelers have the opportunity to visit Buduruwagala temple just two towns away, nearly 34 km from Thanamalwila where the house is based. Buduruwagala is an ancient Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. The complex consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought. The statues date back to the 10th century.
A workawayer would see that the place is not a cultural center. It is simply located in a village in Sri Lanka. The locals are born Buddhists, that means, they do not practice much of Buddhism at all besides from visiting the temple on full moon days. They also don't speak English. This place is not in a tourist town. There is a school nearby: the Kithulkote School. Workawayer can visit the school and converse with the English teacher and volunteer to teach English if they feel like doing so. No obligation. Anything else, please email and ask, I will be happy to provide details as needed.Ayuda
Any wood cabin builder? If you are good at building things, I'd love it if you could help us with building a cabin, at least that has become a priority now. Additionally, in our two acres land, gardening (pulling weeds, and clearing the land), watering plans maybe needed. If you like teaching English, and socializing with the villagers, that can be arranged.
We are able to provide three meals a day for the Workawayers. Therefore, we will be asking for the maximum of 25 hours of help per week.
However, in case we are unable to provide three meals a day, and we would like Workawayers to be responsible for their own food costs, we are reducing the hours of help to a maximum of 15 per week. Feel free to use our kitchen. Plenty of grocery shops nearby. We do love to feed you when we can.Idiomas

In our property, we have an upstairs room with an attached bathroom and a patio. There is a gas stove and pots available for cooking. I highly encourage you to prepare your own meals while here. Local food can be cooked and be provided if you like to taste some. Rotie, rice and curries, bread, butter, sweet potatoes, beans, lentils, will be some of the options. There are local shops open from 7 am to 9 pm within 5 km radius where you can buy vegetables and prepare a fresh meal. I have a tuk tuk that you can hire if needed.
Upstairs unit has AC, wifi, and a washing machine.Algo más...
I live downstairs with my wife and our 2 year old baby girl. I live on daily vages by working in the fielfs nearby. I prefer my wife to stay home and care for the baby. I love them so much. When she has more time, she cares for the land, and does some gardening. My wife has been a Sunday school teacher but currently she stays home with the baby. She is originally from Badulla town. I am originally from Matara town.

What a joy it was to host you. From the very beginning, communication between us was clear and easy. We arranged a time to go over the details of your visit, and I made sure you felt comfortable with everything. You asked thoughtful questions, and I explained everything just as it was. That mutual clarity helped set a strong foundation… read more

I had a great experience here.
The host, Sepala is kind and tolerant. When I couldn't catch what he said, he intended to listen and talk patiently by a phone translator.
