I am Pramila Parajuli and with my friend Shanta we have a very small garden and hosting people . We love to live together
and learn and teach each other in any subjects.
We belong to Brahmin Community. Around the village, there are different ethnic groups like Tamang, Magar, Newar and also Brahmin. Our effort is to provide our guest with Cultural and lingual exchange along with learning the traditional way of living. Our village lies near to the forest which provides greenery to our community. Our community includes people from different religion, so there are temples, Buddhist stupa and church.

Our place is rich in natural beauty where you can view panoramic view Kathmandu valley and one of the broadest view of Himalaya ranges of Nepal. The Himalaya ranges include Everest range, Annapurna range, Manaslu range, Ganesh himal, Jugal range and Rolwaling range. There is also hiking opportunity where you can observe different landscape, vegetation and living style of different community in this place.

Our home is located in small village of Nagarkot in Kathmandu valley which is 35km from the central Kathmandu. We have very small organic garden. We were previously running a farm in Chitwan.after covid we badly effected. Couldn't produce and sell vegetables. We suffered from financial situations. Now we are just running home stay, culture exchange learn and teach each other. Helping teaching in nearby schools.

    Water
We use water which is naturally available in our community for drinking as well as for irrigation. This water is drinkable without purification as it comes directly from the earth, purified naturally through stones and aquifers. However, we use chlorinated and filtered water for drinking purpose.

    Plastic
In rural Nepal plastic poses a problem. There are no garbage incineration plants or recycling centres and therefore, farmers and families burn the plastic themselves. We ask our guests to be aware of the amount of plastic they bring into our house, as we have no way of getting rid of it. We don't like to burn the plastic ourselves, but we have to do so when it accumulates. Please keep this in mind.

    Our Future Mission
We aim to support the local community and empower women, focusing on teaching framing skills. For example, to create a learning center for eco farming that provides a place for sharing knowledge.

Fun activities will include singing, dancing, games, etc. With both work and play, we encourage volunteers to take creative liberties, feel free, and most importantly- have fun while learning. We will provide you Nepali cooking classes (many different dishes). We can teach you our Nepali language and we like to learn yours too. If people like to learn yoga I can teach the basic every morning.
You can teach village kids English. Or any other skill if you know.

    Help in garden:
We have small organic garden you can help us in garden.

Teaching English: If you are interested, you can also teach English or any other subjects to the village children at the local school. In return, you can enjoy the smiles and laughter of the children.

Things you could bring from home to help us:
-For our place we are always in need of gardening gloves. As there are mostly women working here, we need them in small to medium sizes. We could always do with used hiking boots and gumboots/wellingtons/rubber boots (especially during rainy season), in any sizes, but again small and medium preferred.
-We love books and entertain an ever-changing bookshelf for our visitors, so new additions are always welcomed!
-Also, people in the village live off their land and seldom get the chance to buy things. Should you have kids clothes (all sizes) lying around your house, please consider bringing them to Nepal. The same goes for old phones and laptops (if still working). ;-)

    Alojamiento

We have a moderate size house we share with the volunteers, which is surrounded by the farm and garden. The house has three separate bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom. Sometimes you might have to share rooms. We have a constant supply of drinking water.

At the moment, volunteers are kindly requested to contribute financially to our home .To be honest we do not have any other extra income. So we would be enormously grateful if you could contribute 7 Euros per person per day for hosting you. This is very important for the survival of the household and also to provide you with decent food and accommodation. We have a firm belief that you will understand this fact and act accordingly.

    HOW TO GET HERE:
From Kathmandu, the cheapest way to get to Nagarkot is by public bus. But, you have to take two buses; one from Ratna Park to Bhaktapur and other one from Bhaktapur to Nagarkot. Our farm is about 3 km before the main Nagarkot Town. When you take the bus from Bhaktapur to Nagarkot, you have to get down at a place called "Sunrise Road, Gadgade". After getting down, you have to walk towards the "Sunrise Hotel" (which takes just 2-3 minutes) from the main gate of the hotel you have to turn right and walk for another 2-3 minutes and ask the local people where is the house of Pramila or sisters home stay. If you follow these instructions then you will quite easily find us.

Keep in mind that you have to get down at "Sunrise Hotel Gadgade" which is located about 4
km before the main Nagarkot Town.

You can also give me phone call, if you have access to phone. My mobile number is 9841787136.
