Vom Workawayer (Fina) für Host
I stayed at this place for about three weeks in March 2025 and had a wonderful time there.
Phil and Kev are kind, welcoming, funny simply awesome people and made me feel right at home, when I got there. The room I got to stay in not only had a window seat like I always dreamed of having one day, it was big and beautiful like pretty much their
… read more entire idyllic and well-organised property. And with fresh strawberries in my muesli and a hot chocolate for breakfast every morning, plus two ridiculously good meals prepared for me every day, I truly felt so privileged to stay with them.
Then there’s the lovely pets. Pretty, but shy Polly loves belly rubs and tennis balls and whenever you find her ducking in to the grass somewhere, you can be sure there’s a tennis ball waiting for you to kick or throw for her. Pippin loves attention, cuddles and sleeping while half hanging of a chair or your lap, making you wonder how that could ever be comfy. Miel truly is quite a vocal cat and I had some funny chats with her as she came running up to me whenever I entered my room. Hugging Pippin on the couch during the movie nights and having Miel purr on my chest while trying to fall asleep, is definitely something I miss.
I learned how to set up fireplaces and got to ride one of those ride on lawnmowers, which was a lot of fun. I cleaned windows with Miel keeping me company and helped with the new living room renovation. And I truly did a lot of weeding, occasionally throwing tennis balls for Polly, while the weeds started to grow back where I had finished with them last week. But whether it was weeding, preparing the fire or emptying the dishwasher in the mornings, I gladly did all of it and more, when there was always a furry companion, a great view around the corner and the next delicious meal waiting for me afterwards. Honestly those meals.. Phil and Kev are great chefs and there wasn’t a thing I didn’t love even if we had stuff that I’d never eat on my own.
I didn’t do that much exploring during my stay, because I just enjoyed resting from my travels on their beautiful property, but Phil and Kev showed me around the local towns and would have even lent me a bike or car if I wanted to. They also took me out to have two wonderful dinners with their friends, who are also such great people. I was just a stranger to them, but they included me and made sure I had a great time. Saying good bye to this place, the people and the pets was really tough as it felt like leaving a home again.

In November we (Anne, Lotta) and our friend Sarah spent 3 weeks at Maison Murier.
The time with Phillip and Kevin was great.
We felt very welcome from the first second.
We were able to learn a lot of new things from a culinary point of view and it always tasted very good.

The dogs Pippin and Polly are very hansome and cute, as is the cat Meow, who sometimes snuggles up in our bed at night.
The house is beautifully designed and offers a huge plot of land. Although there were three of us, we had the privilege of having our own room and bathroom, the rooms are beautifully designed.
The cities of Albi and Toulousse are well worth seeing in the area. Phil kindly drove us to Albi and the wonderful village Courdes sur Siel and gave us tips for excursions in the area. They also offers bikes.
We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful time and can only recommend this host!!!

Staying with Phil and Kev was absolutely fantastic!
I visited with two of my friends, Anne and Lotta, and from the moment we arrived, we felt like we had been adopted into their family. The warm welcome was unmatched, and saying goodbye was genuinely tough—it felt like leaving home.
And how could we forget the stars of the show: Pippin, the
… read more playful little goofball, and Polly, the elegant lady! We fell in love with these two adorable dogs so quickly. Pippin's hilariously awkward sleeping poses made us wonder how on earth he found them comfortable, and his cuddle attacks were impossible to resist. Polly, on the other hand, was a bit shy at first, but once she warmed up to us, she turned into a full-on cuddle queen (pro tip: she absolutely adores belly rubs!). Being a massive dog lover myself, I felt a deep connection with both of them—it was pure joy.
The time we spent together was unforgettable, filled with so many laughs and special moments. From singing Christmas carols in the car to nightly Christmas movie marathons, Elsa’s legendary karaoke performances, and inside jokes about Carlos (yes, Carlos—we’ll never forget!), every day was a new adventure.
We only got to meet Helen for a day, but wow—what an impression she made! Helen is such a strong, inspiring, and stunning person, truly a queen in every sense. We instantly felt at ease with her and wished we had more time to get to know her better.
And, of course, we can’t leave out the epic Dance Show nights—we’re all giving those a solid 10/10!
Working with Phil and Kev was a blast, and we’d come back in a heartbeat (if you can handle our wild and crazy trio again!). You both shared our vibe and made us feel so at home—something we’ll always cherish.
Oh, and one thing we will never forget: “Beddy-bye-wheee-wheeesss!”

This was one of the best experiences of my time in France.
From the first moment until the last minute at their place, I felt welcomed not only by them but also their wonderful families and friends. They are all such intelligent, kind and funny people.

The village is small, but they have wonderful suggestions of exploring places around and will make sure you have an excellent experience there.
The work was varied, but never too straining even in the hottest weather months of summer. I was mostly responsible to help with the gardening (mowing and weeding), sometimes a few other small tasks like sanding and painting, cleaning the rooms after guests left, and sometimes walking the dog, Polly.
The playful dog Polly, the affectionate dog Pippin and the mysterious cat Meow, are stars on their own. I miss them almost everyday, as I loved playing and cuddling with them.
And I have to talk about the meals! I don’t think i ever been this well fed my entire life. They are incredible cooks and you will eat like a king!
I could talk about this experience for hours, but just know that they arephenomenal and I hope you embrace the opportunity of helping such amazing people!
