I'm a 23 years old from Naples, Italy.
I moved to Rome when I was 18 to study computer science and after 1 year in a strange, unconventional school, called 42, I started working as a software developer.
I worked in Rome for almost 2 years, then moved to Naples and continued to work remotely.

Apart from technology, I've always been a sporty person, I practised parkour for 3 years and a lot of other sports during my teenage years, usually I jump around, climb over everything and sit in strange ways.

During these 3 years of work I started travelling, both while working remotely and during holidays, only to find out that the best trips were the uncomfortable ones.

After my last trip I decided to take a break from work for 3 months, to live a more hands-on lifestyle, improve my DIY skills, language skills (mainly English, but picking up new ones along the way would be great) and get in touch with local people from other parts of the world, all things that were missing from my job.

I've recently done four workaways, some of them while working as a digital nomad:
- Three weeks in a dog shelter in Greece, mainly taking care of the dogs (almost 300 dogs :)), clenaning, walking them and some DIY fixes around the shelter.
- One month in a restaurant on an island in Thailand, mainly cleaning around and doing DIY constructions and fixes.
- Three weeks in a farm on an hill in Nepal, harvesting, planting, seeding, weeding and woodcutting.
- Two weeks building a school in Nepal, doing various construction jobs like mixing concrete, cementing floors, plastering, painting...

Now I work on weekdays with Italian timezone, so I have all the morning free.
(Japan working time: 5:00pm-2:00am)

I'm looking for some digital nomad friendly places with a stable internet connection where to spend my mornings doing something useful :)

When I travel I prefer to focus on not tech jobs, but I can surely be helpful with most of the tech problems that can arise.

I have watched a lot of TV series, anime and a decent amount of films, when I travel I always prefer books over other kinds of media (thanks kindle)

I listen to a lot of music of various genres, mainly rock, but when I travel Italian classics always win over everything else.

I love playing board games, my favourites are the 1v1 ones with a wooden chessboard, like chess, checkers, backgammon and millet, but I love playing strategical group board games when I have the occasion.

This is more a family than a Workaway, I spent 3 weeks in the farm, felt at home, and I'll surely come back as soon as I can.

At the time I've been there, only Laxmi and Krishna live permanently in the farm, while their sons Garima and Gagan live in Kathmandu, but you can feel the connection with Garima even before she'll come to visit at the… read more farm, thanks to Laxmi that will show you her video and pictures 😂🥰 Unfortunately I had no occasion yet to meet Gagan, but will remedy during my next visit to Nepal.

The kind of work is 100% farm life, and the amount it's completely fair, usually around 3-4 hours, depending on the period, apparently June-July should be super busy with the harvesting of a lot of amazing fruit 🥲

Most of the work was related to cultivation, harvesting, planting and seeding, even if not everyday, and preparation of food conservatives like dried turmeric and spinach; apart from that they realized my dream of... giving me an axe and letting me cut wood everyday. That was amazing.

Sometimes like when Krishna is busy in the shop during the morning, you can just find your own work, there is lots to do around the farm, useful things that can be built or wood that needs to be cut 👀

The best part of it's surely the food, Laxmi and Krishna will try to involve you in the food preparation and they really care that you learn Nepali cooking techniques eheh

Laxmi is a great chef for everything, while Krishna cooks the best Chapati I've ever had so far; in the city there are some little shops where you can take some local food and ask Laxmi to teach you how to prepare it ⭐️ Paneer is for sure the most important guy around.

Also there is tea. Milk tea. Or black tea. Every time. Non stop delicious tea all day long between one meal and the other, with the interesting add of black pepper that was completely new for me.

The house is completely traditional, 3 minutes walk on an hill up the city, traditional wooden style bed (that I personally love), squat bathroom and bucket shower; I was lucky enough to have a room all for myself for all the three weeks 👀

Going out of the house there are a lot of activities to do around Dharke, there are temples around that Krishna can show you some mornings, a waterfall that you can explore with Garima and Dhiraj when they are there and a 2000m height hill that you can conquest in 8/9 hours roundtrip, just pack a bag of muesli from the shop and start walking 🫡

This was my first Workaway while working remote and it was a perfect fit with my working hours requirements; the internet connection is fast (40mb/s) but sometimes it can get cut out and, as all Nepal, there can be some short blackouts, but it's not a problem thanks to the perfect phone signal that there is there, I was able to work 8 hours per day with an Ncell sim without problems and with very cheap and rechargeable plans, like 0.10€ per GB <3

All the people that I met there were amazing strange ones, volunteers too, it looks like this place attract the best ones around 😌 Garima is a very smart girl, even if she has 3 feet and 7 noses, I really hope you all will
manage to meet her during your stay.

And how to forget the great Bikki, he's a good dog but completely unaware of territories... If he'll follow you during a walk, be aware that you'll need to defend him from other dogs, he's both clumsy and a weakling 😂

Well, that place has something.
Maybe the best first workaway experience that I could ever ask for. I stayed for 3 weeks, but I advise everyone to stay for 1 month, that's the perfect length.
October/November are amazing months there, not too cold and not too hot, but every time is perfect.
