Hi there!
My name is Fleur, and I come from a small town in the Netherlands. I grew up on a dairy farm with, of course, cows, but also chickens, sheep, dogs, and cats, so I know my way around animals and farm work in general. I’m 23 years old now, and after travelling through Europe and Asia and having spent the last two years based in Spain, I’m ready to start part two of my world tour :)
I’ve already done my fair share of Workaways, but I’m always up for more. I would describe myself as a reliable, easygoing, and open-minded person. I usually travel without much of a plan, so I’m not exactly sure where I’ll end up this time, but that’s part of the adventure!
I love spending as much time outdoors as possible, and I probably have way too many hobbies I still want to learn. I enjoy hearing people’s stories, and I’m always happy to share mine too.

Currently I'm focused on improving my Spanish, but I think it’s always nice to pick up a bit of the local language wherever you are, so I’m open to learning any language that comes my way. I can teach you Dutch or English, or even go crazy and count to six in Finnish.

My dad taught me that there’s always a way to make things work again, so I enjoy finding practical ways to fix things.I can take care of animals, have some knowledge of gardening, and teach you how to bake bread! Cooking is a big hobby of mine, and I can help with vegan, vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals.
I’ve done a lot of different jobs over the years, through Workaway and at home. I’ve been a nanny, helped with renovating and building a house, taught in a school, done some upcycling projects, painted many walls, and worked in hospitality. I also know a bit about video editing. If I can help with something I already have experience in, that’s great. Otherwise, I would love to learn whatever job you need help with.

I’m always up for playing board games or chess, and I also enjoy playing guitar, reading, and crocheting. I like discovering plants and birds wherever I go, and I’m always curious to try new hobbies. I'd love to learn more about martial arts!

Fleur stayed at the farm for about 3 weeks. She very helpful, always ready to learn and follows all instructions.
She is one of youngest volunteer that we have had, but don't go by her age. She has quite bit of farm experience. What she doesn't have experience of she covers it up with her enthusiasm to learn.

Going through Portugal really makes you aware of how poor the animal welfare is, so it’s beautiful to see how much work is put into this place to give these dogs a better life. I spent almost three weeks in Rutland with two other really sweet volunteers and it was so nice to get to know them as well.
