Peter and Ida were such friendly, helpful, and fun guests to have around. They brought great energy and were very respectful of the space. I highly recommend hosting them to anyone! I really hope to see them again someday.

Spending a week with Jenni, Autumn, and Vienna was an absolute joy! They are a super sweet family who truly made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. ​The exchange was fantastic: the boho caravan was beautiful and super comfy, and Jenni's fresh, home-cooked vegan food was honestly the best I’ve ever had. ​My help included stripping out gorse and renovating a shed. I also loved playing with their daughter, Vienna, and spending time with their lamb, Milly, and also helping to feed the chickens. Autumn even offered a wonderfully relaxing Shiatsu massage, and they were incredibly helpful in picking me up and assisting me with my car registration. ​Highly recommend this amazing, supportive experience. Hope to see you all again soon!

Fredi and Lea were incredibly kind and hospitable hosts! Staying with them has been a highlight of our travels. We learned plenty about their sustainable way of life in the Allgäu, the value of community, and Bavarian culture. They also taught us about the restoration of their 300 year old house, unique architecture and building techniques, and the surrounding environment. We were lucky enough to eat incredible, locally sourced food at every meal. We helped them to organize their wood storage for the winter, and while it was hard work, it was a very cool experience. As jobs go, it was fulfilling to know that we were helping to keep Fredi and Lea warm for the winter. The next day, they took us on a beautiful hike where we ate mountain cheese and cake, and drank local beer and schnapps. There were two other guests via Workaway from Belgium, and we all had a good time sharing our culture differences. We highly recommend staying with Fredi & Lea and we hope to see them again in future!

We absolutely loved to have Solene. She's an independent tinker who had no problem merging into our family, always ready to help with the normal dayly stuff, including, but not limited to, her 5 hours of work outside. She was mostly interested in the animals and helped in a variety of ways. Always eager to help and learn. She needed only a bit of instruction and easily gave 100%. Perfect! The kids loved her, even though she also sometimes found them a bit loud and much ;) I don't blame her. She's not the type to volunteer a lot of play time, instead focusing more on helping out with chores. She's a great cook, although she cooked only 3 times in 3 weeks. She was probably the first workawayer to optimally use her weekends with her own car to explore the Netherlands properly. With some people that come to work, we never really connect. I suppose we're not the easiest, as we're pretty busy and there's not a lot of downtime to connect on. She was the type to retire early - as many others - but because she was so much part of the family during the day, we really connected and had lots of good conversations, some very personal and developmental. Thank you Solene for the whole experience! Not just the amount of work done. But the lasting impression you made on our whole family. We will always consider you a friend and probably visit you again soon :)

I stayed for a month with Anna, Will and the kids and had a really good time. They’re kind, open-minded and easy to be around, it was great to feel part of their daily life! I mainly cooked for the family and really enjoyed our shared meals with Sten and Loore, full of good chats and laughs! I also spent some time playing and hanging out with the kids, they’re super easy-going and lovely! Peaceful place, great people, I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Andy & Lucky were such welcoming and generous hosts! If you are looking for a place to unwind from your trip, spend time gardening at your own pace, and with lovely company from their pets —this is the perfect place for you. They are kind and truly enjoy sharing authentic Guatemalan life and stories with their guests when they can. Andy also introduced me to different tools to work in the garden, which I enjoyed a lot. My partner and I stayed here for a whole month and it was such a great experience! Thank you, Dada for welcoming us into this special place! We were very grateful to plant our feet on the ground for a while and this was the perfect place to do it. The work was varied. We did some construction, painting, gardening, coconut processing and more. All of the staff were friendly, hard workers and really care about the retreat and the mission. Our accommodation was great and nestled amongst abundant groves of coconut palms, bananas trees, mangoes and all kinds of citrus! We had bikes to explore with, and town is only 10 min easy cruise away. I also stumbled upon a little waterfall 10 min up the road! (Message me for a treasure map!) We shared a kitchen with other volunteers and it was always fully stocked! A special thanks to sugati for always hooking us up with loads of fresh fruits and vegetables plus just being a really warm and kind friend. They are lucky to have her and we already miss her a lot! Also big thanks to agneya for taking us on some mini road trips to check out nearby temples and also guiding us through an asana/meditation in his free time! He is a good guy and works very hard. We will also miss the 3 legged dog, dora so much! Make sure to feed her everyday, give her belly rubs and give her a good bath once in a while because she gets stinky! All and all I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good spot to work hard, relax, and nourish yourself with great food! So happy we came and we are looking forward to checking out other retreats around the world! Much love and thank you!

Quedarme donde Victoria, Gastón, Amaru y Liber fue una experiencia muy gratificante. Son una familia muy acogedora, amables y tienen muchas anécdotas y conocimientos que compartir. Me quedé por una corta estadía en donde trabajé en varias tareas diversas. Entre ellas, ayudé con eliminar monte alrededor de unos árboles y colocar diferentes materiales en el suelo que ayudarían a que se mantenga despejado sin maleza. Otra tarea que disfruté mucho y que va más de la mano con el negocio familiar era contar, limpiar y organizar huevos, etiquetar mermeladas y otras comidas envasadas preparadas por ellos mismos (que por cierto, son espectaculares), y deshojar hierbas secas para hacer tés. Diría que lo que describen en su perfil es muy acertado y superó mis expectativas. Recomendaría de todo corazón quedarse con esta maravillosa familia. Aprenderán mucho de ellos, además de tener la experiencia hermosa de la vida del campo Uruguayo.

It was a pleasure having Marion stay with us, we shared meals, chats, talked about our pasts and enjoyed watching the world athletics championship…it was France vs Australia!! 😝😝 Marion is easy to get along with, and super helpful around home. She didn’t require much instruction for the tasks/jobs I asked her to do, which included garden work, cleaning windows/patio, organising paperwork, painting and she helped cook too. So very capable. I highly recommend Marion as a guest, and I hope your travels go well. Michael

I hosted Sophie for about a week. She is a friendly and polite guest with a beautiful artistic soul! :) During her stay, I showed her around various places in Tokyo and we cooked meals together. She really enjoyed it and I had a great time too. She taught me a lot about the UK. She also joined an English conversation session hosted by my friend, where she talked a lot to help the participants to learn English. Additionally, she is an artist who creates video works, composes music, and performs wonderful songs. Thank you for the wonderful days! I am also very, very much looking forward to the day I meet you again.

My stay at Lorraine’s sanctuary was truly special — a week of calm, inspiration, and connection. It felt like entering a gentle rhythm of life where time slowed down and every sunrise began in a state of zen. The farm, surrounded by nature and far from the noise of cities, became a place to breathe, ground, and simply be. Lorraine is a kind and soulful host — warm, open-hearted, and genuinely caring. She makes you feel instantly at home. The work is beautifully balanced, never rushed, and blends seamlessly with the natural flow of each day. There’s a true sense of harmony here between life, rest, and purpose. Her animal family adds even more magic — two affectionate cats, two joyful dogs, three goats who gift the most delicious milk, and a lively flock of chickens. Each meal is prepared from her abundant organic garden — fresh, nourishing, and filled with love. My week here was not just a stay, but a small journey back to simplicity, earth, and self. I wholeheartedly recommend Lorraine and her beautiful sanctuary to anyone seeking peace, inspiration, and a deeper connection with nature and community.

We had a wonderful time staying with Nich! He’s an open-minded, thoughtful host and a great conversationalist – we really enjoyed our chats over dinner and while working together. Even with his busy schedule, he made time to connect and share stories, which made the experience feel really personal and genuine. Most of our tasks were around gardening and general spring cleaning, and Nich trusted us to manage things independently, even when he was away at work. The property itself is beautiful, surrounded by peaceful nature, and we were lucky to share our days with Flo (always in our hearts) and the three sheep – Trevor, No Name 1 and No Name 2. Thank you Nich for welcoming us into your home and for such a meaningful stay!

I had an amazing stay with them! They were incredible and helped me figure out the stuff with the dogs really quickly and took me to see things all over the area and learn about the culture and history of the area. It was an incredible experience, the time flew by, and I can't wait to hopefully go back again! They are wonderful hosts and it was a great way to learn about a very different way of life! If you're willing to put in the work, this is well worth the time and I would reccomend it to everyone!

Tatiana est restée une semaine chez nous. C’était sa première expérience Workaway et elle a été très impressionnante par sa capacité d’adaptation à notre univers mais aussi pour son extrême gentillesse et dévouement. C’est une personne vraiment très attentionnée et soucieuse de bien faire qui nous a été d’une grande aide. Elle est calme, ouverte d’esprit et très agréable à vivre. Je ne peux que recommander vivement cette expérience à d’autres hôtes car Tatiana est une magnifique rencontre et mérite d’être soutenue pour apprendre la langue française. Elle a déjà beaucoup progressé en une semaine chez nous, félicitations ☺️

Sara was a wonderful helper. She follows directions well, is organized and got along well with the whole household. Leo and Nala, my 2 cats, already miss her. I enjoyed Sara's cooking very much. It was a pleasure to try her Persian cooking. Sara helped with household chores, making sugar skulls, cooking, and pruning plants in the garden. Thank you for your help, and you are welcome back anytime!

Juul spent a week here helping around our farm and was an absolute pleasure to host! She handled the chaos of living in a home with 10 dogs like a pro — welcoming every one of them with patience and kindness, including the two new arrivals who joined us on her last day. She worked independently, took initiative, and even went above and beyond by taking on extra jobs without being asked. Life here is VERY hectic and extremely stressful for me right now as I’m working long hours trying to keep the farm from going into foreclosure, so her timing couldn’t have been better. Juul’s help was truly a blessing. What stood out most was how much care she gave to the dogs in our outdoor shelter, making sure they got extra playtime, treats, and even walks in the evenings. She has a wonderful way with animals and a calm, positive energy that made both the dogs and me feel at ease. Juul is responsible, self-motivated, and compassionate. I would welcome her back anytime and highly recommend her to any future hosts!

Gina helped us in September. We couldn't ask for better help. A few days after she arrived we had to go for 5 days. Gina managed the B&B and everything else that had to be done. Looking after the horses, pony, goats, chicken, rabbits, dogs, cat and also garden. She did an excellent job. She is a very nice person to have around. She baked really good cockles and apple cake. We can highly recommend her and hope she will come for a visit some day.
