Zilli is a courteous, honest and hardworking young lady and it was a pleasure to have her around our house. She's always keen to help, and takes initiate where needed. We recommend her to other hosts, and hope she might come back for another workaway at our place!

I had a wonderful time with Ava and Marsh! They have a beautiful property and garden which was enjoyable to work in, spotting many different birds and being so close to amazing walks was great. The food was great and they were such generous hosts. Would reccommend to anybody who wants to spend time in a beautiful natural part of the world and enjoy some peace and quiet.

I was very fortunate to spend a week at Damien’s in November 2025 — what an interesting and enriching experience! Damien is like a walking encyclopaedia when it comes to Australian plants, birds, insects, the wetlands and so much more. He is incredibly passionate about his work and genuinely cares about the people, animals, and landscapes he works with. It was truly a privilege to spend time with him and work alongside him. My tasks were wonderfully varied — from helping out with different projects on the wetlands, to accompanying him on an ecological survey trip to Greens Lake, to a few gardening tasks around the house. I also got to experience several firsts: kayaking through the wetlands, sleeping in a swag under the night sky, and learning some new Australian slang :) I met some of Damien’s friends as well, and we had many deep and fascinating conversations. Damien is a real busy bee with an incredible amount of energy. Because of his active lifestyle, the house can feel a little lived-in and busy too, but it fits the rhythm of the place and you can find your own pace. And he’s a great cook! I feel very lucky to have met Damien and to have spent time in such a beautiful environment. I came away with unforgettable memories — and a new friend :) I definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance — especially if you’re a bird or wetland enthusiast!

Lidya stayed with me for ten days, and honestly, she was nothing short of amazing. From the moment she arrived, she was friendly, kind, and wonderfully easy going. We shared so many heartfelt conversations, laughed endlessly, cooked together, and even explored the market side by side. When it came to work, she exceeded every expectation I had. She helped me with content creation, conducted interviews to bring more awareness to my business, edited videos, and posted them online. She barely rested since arriving, always motivated, full of fresh ideas, and completely independent in her work. I never had to supervise her; she simply understood what needed to be done and did it beautifully. Beyond her skills, Lidya is a genuinely amazing soul, charming, positive, and a truly great guest. I feel grateful for the time she spent here and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any future host.

Silvia was one of the best WorkAwayers we have ever hosted. Her work ethic and proactiveness were truly unparalleled. She consistently delivered results far beyond what we asked, and she approached every new task with creativity and initiative, always finding smart solutions to unexpected challenges. Beyond her exceptional work, she was also extremely respectful of our rules, very quiet and discreet, yet genuinely fun and pleasant to have around. We sincerely wish she could have stayed longer. We even hoped to welcome her back, but unfortunately it won’t be possible this time. We honestly envy anyone who will have the chance to host her in the future, whether through WorkAway or in any other context. Silvia is a rare gem, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

Caley is a warm and likable girl. I felt very at ease having her stay with us. She is smart and a wonderful teacher. Her friend, Isaura, is cheerful and lovely. Having them with us for two weeks was truly wonderful.

Staying with Malvina was a wonderful experience. Her place is located right in the middle of the forest, surrounded by beautiful nature, which made our time there very peaceful and inspiring. Malvina herself is extremely kind, generous, and attentive. She never left us alone in difficult situations and always made sure we felt comfortable and supported. The work was mostly hands-on and quite varied, which made it fun and interesting to learn new skills. We felt very welcomed from the first day, enjoyed the warm atmosphere, and ended up staying longer than we originally planned. We are truly grateful for the experience and highly recommend Malvina as a Workaway host.

I had a great stay with very nice people, in a nice place with a stunning nature around. Kylie could be anytime a tour guide, she knows well Tasmania and she offered me few road trips around Devonport. I have nothing to complain and I recommend this host to anyone. Constantin, November 2025

It was just the best having Harry here! He was so self motivated, used his common sense and just got on. He cleared much overgrowh, rotovated parts of the veg garden and sowed seeds. Once he'd finished a job he asked what to do next rather than standing around looking at his phone! This is a rare occurence and a breath of fresh air for us. We didn't see much of him while he was here, he was either working out on the property or, because he had his own car was off out somewhere. We like to take workaways out on trips but had a transport problem so weren't able to do that. During meals though he joined in the conversation and was always positive, plenty of interesting things to tell us. And very respectful and polite. Harry is welcome back anytime.

Very nice hostel close to everything in Oaxaca city! The shifts are mainly checking guests in at reception and organizing evening activities for guests to join. The shifts are usually after 5pm, so we have pretty much all the daytime to explore the area. The vibe is chill and everyone who works here is friendly. If you expect to party every night at the hostel, this is not the place. But it is very easy to make friends here. We hang out at local bars, had tasty tacos/hot chocolate, went salsa dancing 💃, and so much more fun things ! Would love to visit Lev's other hostel at Guadalajara next time!

We stayed almost one month with Sunil. It was so a great time. We helped to care about cows when they were eating. We prepared the soil for potatoes, broccoli, spinach, beans and others vegetables and after we planted. Sunil is really nice and always ok to share his knowledge. The food was Nepali and it as so good... like the tea. We enjoyed this quiet area and the hiking in mountains. actually we can have himalaya view not so far away.. We also celebrated Tihar with Sunil family. So much great time in this place. Thanks Sunil for everything!

Donna, Paul and their daughters are amazing people. And what about Tor, their dog… he is lovely and for sure he will love every workawayers ! We loved every moments that we passed with them. We couldn’t dream a better place to start our adventure in New-Zealand. They live 5 min by walk to the beach. You have access to everything you need in 15min by bus. The place is awesome ! We definitely recommend this workaway and we are looking forward to see you again. Thanks again Donna and Paul !! :)

My stay with Sam was my first Workaway experience, and it couldn’t have been better. He made me feel welcome from the start in his beautiful, quiet home. Sam was very considerate, showed me around and shared lots of helpful tips about New Zealand. Additionally, he’s an amazing cook. I’m really grateful for the amazing conversations and experiences and happily recommend staying with him.

Kirk stayed with us for a week and assisted with a variety of tasks, he is very skilled and a huge help. Rosa also came to join him twice, together they helped to stack wood - on Kirks birthday! - all afternoon, house sat and cooked a super nice meal together for us. They are a dream team with a lot of skills, very interesting conversation partners and lovely, kind and wonderful people. Highly recommended workaway guests.

Jana stayed with us on our life style block for just over a week. In that time Jana showed us that despite her young age she was able to very quickly understand and complete all projects with ease. Her stamina, attention to detail, and time keeping were amazing. Jana helped with weed control, animal care, and fence repair, and always with a smile. After work duties were completed Jana was always keen to help with food preparation and clean up. Jana was very comfortable sitting and discussing many topics with us in the evenings and showed great interest in Maori history and birds and plants of New Zealand. It truly was a pleasure to have her company and she would definitely be welcome back if the opportunity arose.

I’m so happy to share my experience of spending a month at Jenn’s home with her wonderful family in Golden BC. They welcomed me with great warmth and made me feel fully integrated. My main tasks included walking Morroco, a few days of house-sitting, general cleaning, some deep cleaning, English–Spanish language exchange, and helping with meal preparation. Everything was very well organized. It was a beautiful opportunity to connect with the local culture through their lifestyle, nature, friends and family. The Thanksgiving celebration was both delicious and fun! Everything described in their profile is exactly as stated and you might even be pleasantly surprised. Jenn showed me lovely walking trails around. It really felt like helping out at a friend’s house, with a focus on meaningful tasks rather than strict schedules. I wish them all the best in their personal and family journey. Thank you for allowing me to plan my next steps and find new inspiration for future adventures! 🌿✨

Words cannot describe how wonderful a time I had in Blenheim with these wonderful folk, from the second I entered Blenheim to the second I left I was treated as family every step of the way. The tasks were great fun to help with and it was always varied, never a dull moment here! In my free time I was able to tour the local vinyards by bicycle and hike Mt Vernon. My time here really has been one of the best moments of my adventure in New Zealand!

I am beyond grateful for this month in the little jungle village! From day one I felt accepted and welcomed like family, starting with a camping trip with Thilina and his friends. I've learned a lot about how to build a house and got some of the best tasks ever like roofing e.g. - it has been quite an adventure! Very satisfying work being outside all day and getting dirty hands. The cob house for living is basic but cozy and has everything you need. It was nice to live a slow lifestyle there, laying in the hammock for sunsets, learning to play the harmonica, making bracelets or spending time with our new dog Lola. And the waterfalls around are gorgeous! We spent a lot of time with our neighbors, too who cook excellent food. Another highlight are the brightly smiling village kids who we started giving English classes to. I'm leaving with a full heart and I'm very happy for having met these adorable people!

Tom and Amelia spent about a month with us this Fall. My wife, Irene and I thoroughly enjoyed their company and are both grateful to them for their many contributions to work about our farm. They approached every project, no matter how mundane with enthusiasm, diligence and humour. Thank you. We highly recommend them to any prospective Workaway host.

I had a great time in Hanoi with Huyen and her family! Huyen is such a lovely person and was always very accommodating. Starting around 4pm everyday we would help with the kids and in the evening we would teach English lessons to the neighborhood kids. During the weekends and day time we got to explore all the beauty Hanoi and Vietnam has to offer. Communication was always great, expectations were clear, and I am grateful for the experience. Her two boys are also very sweet and I miss them already! Thank you for being such a great host, Huyen!
