Eszter has been a wonderful volunteer at the English School. She brought a lot of positive energy to our classrooms and quickly connected with our students. Her speaking sessions were dynamic and engaging, helping learners build confidence while practicing real conversation. Beyond teaching, she showed great cultural openness and was always willing to support our team with kindness and professionalism. We truly appreciated her dedication and the cultural exchange she created with our community. We highly recommend Eszter to any future hosts, she will be a great asset wherever she goes!

I had an absolutely fantastic time with Gerard and Kate. They are both incredibly kind and welcoming, and I felt at home right away. The work was easy and well balanced, and the exchange was more than fair. We also did a lot of fun activities together, including a great boat trip, and Kate showed me around the area, which made the experience even better. The food Kate cooked was always delicious and such a treat to enjoy. It was also really nice to join the garden gigs and Gerard’s gigs in town, which added something special to the stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Gerard and Kate to any Workawayer.

Paul was a volunteer with me for just 10 days but I found him a very well mannered, helpful guy with excellent English. He was well able to work away on his own and I found him 100% trust worthy. As he is studying art and keen sketcher in pencil he drew a wonderful picture of my dog Polly which I am delighted with a look foward to framing, he always made some delicious pasta dishes. I wish you well Paul with your next host and in completing your studies. Thanks

We stayed with Lydia and Rupert when we first arrived in Ireland and couldn't have been more welcomed. Every task they needed done they explained very thoroughly, and it was the perfect mix of work and free time. Lydia always made the yummiest food and gave us great recommendations on what to do in the area and in Ireland in general. Lydia and her lovely family have helped us out so much and we couldn't thank her enough!

Dear Marielle & Helena, Reading your review brought such big smiles to our faces — and yes, maybe even a little tear or two. It was truly a joy to host you both, and honestly, we often said to each other: "If only they were our adopted daughters for real!" You're the kind of guests every host dreams of: cheerful, respectful, hard-working, and full of warmth and humour. From the very first day, you fit in so naturally with our world here. Your help around the domain — from weeding and gardening to cleaning rooms and living spaces with attention to detail and initiative — was deeply appreciated. But even more than that, your kindness, curiosity and gentle energy brought life to every corner of the place. We loved sharing stories and meals around the table, and seeing your joy in the simple things — fresh vegetables from the garden, croissants, a good laugh, a quiet evening in the countryside — reminded us why we love what we do. You also reminded us how beautiful this place can be through fresh eyes. And while you say you felt at home here — we want you to know that you truly were home here. You made this house feel lighter, warmer, and more alive — and we missed you the moment you left. You're welcome back anytime — not just as helpers, but as honorary family. We wish you all the very best for what comes next. May your journey stay full of adventure, beauty, and connections as genuine as the one we shared. With all our gratitude, Marika

To say this has been an incredible experience would be an understatement. To stay with Alexander was one of the best experiences of my life. My work consisted of some gardening, but mainly collaborative work brainstorming with Alexander and helping her use canva and some social media coaching. From getting to spend time on the most breathtaking property, to the most delicious food fresh from the farm, to truly enjoying my work with Alexandra - this was an absolute dream. Alexandra and her family are so warm and welcoming, and truly made me feel at home. I could not recommend this highly enough.

Tom is a great helper and a great person in general. Curious, appreciative and enthusiastic about everything he does, reliable and hard working. Digging holes for fence posts, cleaning up piles of goat poo, cutting firewood with a large circular saw, cutting the grass with weed-eater. We had good conversations together, he is also patient and good with kids - our 2yo loved him so much! He felt like he really wants to be here, meet other people, discover the countryside, learn and try anything. He is a humble guest, always willing to help and nothing is a problem for him. So happy for the opportunity to have him around.

Hello, I spent three weeks there and I had a wonderful time. It is a nice and quiet place and if you can be on your own and like hiking and fishing it is the place to be for you. Ole and Siggi are very nice hosts. I did a lot of painting and gardening work and it was very varied. In your freetime you can go hiking or blueberry picking. It was my first workaway experience and I am very happy that I came there.

We stayed 3 weeks at the Berry Farm during the summer and had an amazing time. It was the end of our trip and great way to experience countryside life in Japan. Satoshi is an extremely friendly person, we really loved hanging out with him and appreciated his welcoming and open-minded personality and his many projects on the go! We worked usually in the mornings until lunch and volunteers had a go at different jobs like cutting grass, clearing plants out of the pond (my favourite job!) chopping wood, picking caterpillars off blueberries, renovating some air b&B properties. Our free time was filled with trips to the beach after work, supermarket shopping with the other volunteers and weekends exploring the island. The farm is quite rural so having a driving license made this experience much better to make the most of our time there. A couple of things we did not expect - the accomodation is a quirky old hospital building, sometimes a bit spooky in the night time but we grew to love it (many colourful moth species to see if you like wildlife!) There were 7-10 volunteers when we were there (which I think Satoshi himself didn't expect!) so there was more social time with international travellers rather than Japanese. I think the experience would be very different with less volunteers and that number probably depends a lot on the season. We were lucky that we lived with some great volunteers, but introverted people might find this a bit of a challenge. We enjoyed the daily rhythm of doing tasks outdoors, taking care of chickens, cooking and eating together with volunteers. It was an interesting insight into life on a farm. The day of the ducks, I will never forget! Satoshi, thank you for having us, we have many happy memories from our time on the farm. If you ever come to London or Brazil please let us know :)

My friend Alberte and I visited Linda and her lovely family for a week and a half in August. We had a wonderful stay with lots of great experiences, where we got the chance to try a little bit of everything. We felt very welcome and had a lot of fun with the whole family, including Julianne, Sunniva, and their incredibly sweet cat. We stayed in a room on the first floor of the house, while the two other workawayers stayed in the so-called “chicken house.” The surroundings were truly beautiful, and we enjoyed exploring the local community – we were especially big fans of the local café! We can wholeheartedly recommend Linda and her family, and we have to admit that we could definitely see ourselves coming back!

I had a wonderful experience staying with Giny. She was a great host, very approachable and easy going, as well as kind and caring, which made it very easy to settle in quickly. My main job was to take care of Ozzi, who is the most lovable and funny dog. We really bonded and became great friends, I truly enjoyed walking him through the forest every day. Other jobs included feeding the chinchillas, cleaning their house, and doing some gardening. I also had a lot of time to myself so I was able to work in the afternoons and explore the surrounding areas. The closest lake is stunning and I also enjoyed watching the sunset from time to time. I'd definitely recommend this workaway if you love animals and want to live a simple life for a little bit. It was a nice break for me from the fast pace of life and I'm very grateful to Giny for this experience.

The animals were cared for, but unfortunately the plants in the garden were not. Watering only every other day at 30°C, especially with sandy soil, is far too little and does not correspond to what I had specified as the task here. Many plants have completely dried out or at least suffered damage from drought, which should be obvious even to anyone unfamiliar with gardening. I am very disappointed and would not entrust my garden to Sophie again.

We were most fortunate to have the privilige to meet with Rahel and having her as a workawayer at our farm. She is fun to be with and has the ability to see what needs to be done. She went into the tasks with joy. If you have the opportunity to make her acquaintance, go for it. We happily welcome her back to stay with us. And so feel our cats.

I spent three weeks with Tom, Sasha, and their three children, who are incredibly warm and welcoming. They are very polite and always made sure I felt comfortable. They often invited me to join them when visiting friends for dinner or when going into town to explore and check out some local shops, which I really appreciated. The place itself is wonderful—surrounded by nature with a huge garden where I sometimes played football with their son. During my stay, I helped out with gardening, painting, cleaning, and even a few plumbing tasks. The work was very diverse, which kept it interesting and never tiring. This was my first Workaway experience, and it’s definitely one I’ll never forget.

This listing got my attention from the pianos and promoted relaxed environment. When I arrived, the accommodations look like a house out of Hollywood, and the back of views are breathtaking - not even the picture can display what you will see. What I experienced, was the ability to think for myself and to empower myself. Manijeh and Jim are always open to listen and hear different viewpoints, perspectives, and engaged in deep conversation. They are both intellectuals and very much respect the concept of space. The work environment is very relaxed, and I could choose my own hours and work when I wanted. The food is the one of the best I've experienced as the fridge was always stocked with home-cooked food. Manijeh is an excellent cook! She expressed to me to eat as much as I wanted. Seconds or thirds. This was such a gift to me! I never felt hungry nor did I have to worry about food. The work I did was physically hard but that's expected and I enjoyed working in sun. I completed the task such as weeding the garden, cutting blackberry vines, weeding near the garage, weeding the back garden, cleaning the house, and learning how to plant cedar trees. I very much enjoyed working with both Manijeh and Jim as each contribute a different way to learn. Both have so much knowledge to share! The garden is very magical, and I enjoyed sitting in the soil and eating my lunch. The garden was full of kale which I got to eat wonderful kale salads for breakfast and dinner. Everything is in abundance here! Manijeh and Jim are very sharing with the garden. The environment is super relaxed and dinners are also relaxed to have conversations, to laugh, and to feel in the best spirits. This was the first place where my room had a beautiful desk so I could complete other work that needed to be done. This was another gift! This place has a lively community with amazing people around. The place is what you make it, and what you get out is what you put in. I am into energy healing, and I was able to progress very fast here. My room came with a yoga mat and I was able to engage in deep daily meditational practices and deep breath work. I was also able to overcome performance anxiety and playing the piano. Manijeh and Jim love music and expression of sound in all forms. They supported me in my musical progress. They both truly want the best for each person success in life. I'm very grateful that I got to experience Manijeh and Jim's place where my spirit was able to move forward, progress in my communication, and open my voice to speak in my truth. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ♥️ With Love,

I had the honor of being Karolína’s first WorkAwayer on the farm, and I really enjoyed my stay. The host and the whole family were friendly and helped me with everything I needed. The property is quite large, with several interesting corners and even some pieces of artwork. On the farm you’ll meet chickens, geese, turkeys, sheep, goats, and also friendly dogs. The place is located in a small village in northern Bohemia, where nature is always close at hand. During my stay, I helped with work on the gazebo, some groundworks, and pruning fruit trees. I’d be happy to return in the future. Thanks for the invitation.

Jessica has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and reliability in her volunteer service. She not only follows the monastery’s guidelines with discipline and respect, but also approaches every assigned task with initiative and care—often going above and beyond what is asked. Her presence brings a sense of steadiness and support to the team, and her thoughtful contributions reflect a sincere commitment to the Dharma. We are always grateful for her efforts and wholeheartedly welcome her return to the monastery anytime.

Julia and Daniele were truly wonderful hosts – generous, kind, and welcoming from the very beginning. They created a warm and friendly atmosphere where I always felt comfortable and appreciated. The work was enjoyable and rewarding, and I also had plenty of time to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a better Workaway experience, and I’m very grateful for the time I spent with them. I wholeheartedly recommend Julia and Daniele to any future Workawayers!
