My time with Maike and Kai was absolutely wonderful and far exceeded my expectations. What was originally planned as an 8-week stay turned into 12 weeks — and I honestly could have stayed even longer! The work was varied and enjoyable, and I especially loved working with the horses. Maike taught me so much, and all the horses are incredibly sweet, well-behaved, and clearly very well cared for. Their wellbeing is always the top priority. My accommodation was comfortable and of high quality — a perfect space to relax and recharge. Maike and Kai are fantastic Chefs, and there was always a lot of laughter around the table. In the evenings, we often sat together chatting or playing games — always voluntary, never expected, which made it feel even more special. And of course, Maroto — the sweetest dog in all of Portugal — was always around for cuddles and "Hundebauch" (belly rub) 😂 I left with a heavy heart and so many beautiful memories. Thank you both for everything — I’m already looking forward to seeing you again! ❤️

My stay with Manon and Seb was my first Workaway experience and it surpassed all of my expectations. Manon and Seb are incredibly hospitable and kind hosts who will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and comfortable during your stay. Mooi is a friendly and playful dog who I spent a lot of time playing with. This was a fantastic opportunity to develop and practise my French skills and both Manon and Seb were more than happy to help me with any language problems I had. Working with Seb was a great experience as he explains tasks in a clear way and takes great care of safety procedures. Even though I had little experience with property renovation, he made it very simple for me to help with their project. Attending lessons at Manon’s school was an excellent experience and showed me firsthand how the French school system works. I even managed to talk to some students which was a fantastic opportunity for me to further develop my linguistic skills. I managed to have many conversations with both of them about a range of topics which were very interesting and insightful. I learnt a lot about French life and culture. They took great care with my allergies, which allowed me to fully enjoy a stress-free stay at their house. I had a brilliant week staying with Manon and Seb and gained many new skills and memories. I would certainly recommend this experience!

We spent one week with Sabine and John at the end of October helping them split firewood for their winters to come. This Workaway experience was truly special. We felt like we were a part of their family by the time we left Cortona. John and Sabine brought us into town to see live Jazz, the Thursday market, and classical music on Halloween night before going for pizza. All the while we really enjoyed talking with them, hearing their interesting stories as individuals and as a couple, and learning about the history of their property and the hills surrounding Cortona. They are two of the warmest and most honest people you will meet. Sabine is a phenomenal cook who does an excellent job bringing Tuscan cuisine into every meal using fresh ingredients and delicious wine. John is a jack of all trades with a contagious sense of humor. Our time with them in their Tuscan getaway was rewarding and relaxing. We left with full bellies and a sense of gaining two new friends who we hope to see again some day not too far down the road. Grazie Mille 🙌🏽

Jan stayed with us for two weeks, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guest. His communication was excellent, he’s intelligent, and an incredibly hard worker. It was an absolute pleasure to host Jan and get to know him, highly recommend him to any future hosts!

Amazing farm situated on a tortoise highway. Paula and Iain gave me a warm welcome, and comfortable accomodation, I spent my time mending some damage to a very cool building, herding cattle, hiking some stunning trails and eating some delicious home cooked food. A very special place, with great people, I will remember it fondly

C'était un grand plaisir de recevoir ce couple radieux. Barbara et Michaël ont tout de suite su s'intégrer dans notre vie quotidien et ils ont attaqué les tâches demandées avec zèle et efficacité. L'échange avec eux était enrichissant et fort agréable. Leur savoir faire dans de différents domaines, leur vaillance et bienveillance nous laissent un souvenir chaleureux. Nous leur souhaitons que tous leur projets soient couronnés avec succès.

Lan is a lovely person..she is so friendly and kind. She looked after our pets so well, especially our dogs and cat Felix. Lan was always there to give them their food, spend time with them and play with them in the garden. During her time with us, Lan cooked some amazing meals..so we experienced her tasty Asian cuisine. We all miss her already and wish Lan every success for the future. Sending our love back ❤️

Dear Johanna and Vincent! It was blast spending time with you! ❤️❤️❤️ The time we spend together with you and Veronyka and Pavel went all too fast! I am so impressed of your skills! You are young, but so talented. You did everything excellently and nothing stopped you. Fixing doors - and keys- sanding and oiling kitchen benches - all kinds of DIU prospects - AND you also worked in the garden harvesting and preparing for winter both at the beachhouse and in Alfheimveien. I wish you the very best and I hope to see you again! AND I can recommend you to any other hosts! Stay well my friends! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

This was my first workaway and I couldn't be happier that it was with Glynn and Julie. They were very welcoming from the very start and I quickly felt right at home. They treated me and the other workaways like part of the family. Everything was new to me and Glynn and Julie were very patient and informative and I feel like I learned a lot of skills I can use in the future. The work was rewarding and enjoyable, and we had weekends off, during which they would take us to markets and to the beach. The accommodation was very nice, I had my own space to go and relax when needed. The food was good, we were well fed and we had enjoyable conversations throughout. I was very appreciative of my time there and I would highly recommend this to other workaways.

Fidelma and Pat are wonderful people and expert hosts! They are warm, engaging, thoughtful and made us at home from the beginning. The work was varied and well-balanced. Our main tasks were splitting and staking wood, painting, and raking leaves. Their clear instructions and established routine meant the work was enjoyable and went quickly. Fidelma and Pat are good ‘craic’, we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with them over Fidelma’s yummy home-cooked meals. They were curious to learn about New Zealand and shared lots about Ireland in return. We especially appreciated their local tips and generous help with transport. Overall we had a wonderful stay with Fidelma and Pat and highly recommend visiting them if you get the chance!

My time with Duncan and his family was amazing, I had such a fun times with them, every conversation, every moment was always with a smile. I had the chance to do so many different activities, to learn and discover that not a single week felt like routine. Of course I would recommend Duncan as a host to spend time with, just on the sheer amount of knowledge he possesses but also his kindness, his concerns for my wellbeing and how kind-hearted and profound one can be. The location there is perfect for cycling with it's gorgeous surroundings and lovely villages to discover. I'll definitely miss my time there. I might come back ;)

I stayed at Lenka's place in Velky Tynek for 8 days, it was a great experience for me. Lenka is a strong woman who is friendly, responsible and kind. I helped her with some construction works. I am thankful to her for hospitality. Also I met there 2 new friends who were also volunteers there, we worked together. During my stay I visited the city Olomouc, forest near the village and also we were at ceramic class with Lenka and her daughter, it was also a nice experience.

Antonia stayed with us 2 weeks and it was a pleasure having her around. She is a discreet person but with a funny side sometimes coming out like when cooking and dancing! Those austrian cookies were soooooooo delicious! She is very autonomous in her work and she wants to make sure everything is done correctly. She cleans her space and have a good work ethic! Maybe a little afraid of zombies =p when we went to fright fest in laronde but that leads to funny moments and good memories!! She joined in the family activities and we had great times also with the other workaways at the samemoment. Very sociable with everyone and has a lot of experience of travel, it is really interesting to hear about all the stories! We wish you the best in mexico !

Super famille :) j’ai passé un très bon séjour avec Saki, Stéphane et leurs 2 petites filles. J’ai pu participer à des repas et des événements avec leurs amis ce qui m’a fait un super échange culturel. J’ai eu beaucoup de temps libre pour explorer Tokyo et ses alentours. Et lorsque je m’occupais des deux petites filles c’était super : on a pu faire des origamis et jouer à des jeux. Saki et Stéphane sont très gentils, ils ont toujours pris le temps de me conseiller sur des endroits à aller explorer, ils ont toujours fait en sorte que je ne manque de rien. J’avais une chambre pour moi qui était très confortable. J’ai adoré mon séjour, je les recommande totalement. Merci encore à Saki et Stéphane pour leur accueil et leur générosité.

Isabelle has been one of those surprises life brings. A special person with so many stories, adventures, and laughs to share. Don't be fooled by her tough exterior; Isabelle has a huge heart. Our son saw it from the first day they played together. A determined woman who, when she decides she wants to do something, gets it done. Always incredibly available to help with any task, inside and outside the house. We'll never forget our trips to the supermarket, to the village, and to Mount Etna caves together. Little by little, she entered our hearts, and it was hard to say goodbye. We sincerely hope this isn't goodbye, but rather see you soon, and that we can meet again sometime.

I really had the best time at Rich’s. His home is beautiful! Every morning I woke up to a beautiful beach and ocean. I especially enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets. They were stunning! It’s a really peaceful place, perfect to calm down and to just enjoy your time. I also tried to surf and used the Stand Up Paddle board on the canal between the Mangroves. But the real highlights were the baby turtles every morning and evening and the dolphins that we saw during a fishing trip. I had a lot of free time to enjoy all of that. My work just included walking the dogs (but I wouldn’t even consider that work because it’s so beautiful to walk on the beach), some cleaning (house and beach) and cooking. One day we (me & 2 other workawayers) painted the walls of a little storage house and another day we painted the palm trees. Rich is a wonderful host! We became friends during my time there and had great conversations. Together with the two other workawayers we had a lot of fun. Rich’s dogs Rio, Molly and Mac are adorable dogs and especially Rio and Molly were always excited to go on a walk. I already miss everyone and I hope I can come back some day!
