We stayed with Jennie and Norman for about 2 weeks and had a very nice stay. The work was never too much and we enjoyed feeding and getting to know the animals. Jennie is a very good cook and we were always welcomed to make ourselves at home in the house as well as in the sleep out which comfortably fit two people. The nature surrounding Outram is Beautiful and very good for walks and days at the beach, which the work free weekends were perfect for. We are very thankfull for the time and will cherish it always.

Polly, Tim, Evie, Bear and Cuddles... we cannot express enough the gratitude we feel for this wonderful family! From the moment we arrived we felt so blessed to have the opportunity of looking after the beautiful land they have been so lovingly nurturing with food trees, chickens and a magnificent surrounding forest. They have been so amazing and generous to us in showing us around, supporting us a lot in our adventures, introducing us to people and giving heaps of tips for our time in Kuranda. We have a 3 year old daughter and they have been so caring, considerate and kind to her, Luna absolutely adores them and will always treasure the play times they shared with Evie! The dog Bear is just the most ADORABLE thing ever, and the home is a truly magical place. We are so happy and honoured to have met such beautiful humans who's big heart and love for the Earth can be noticed all around. Thank you dear family for allowing us into your unique and sacred home, we will always remember our time here as the most special blissful oasis for our family's journey 💜

We exchanged e-mails, texts and a phone call. Marlon sent his travel plans and arrival time and bus stop for us to collect him. I text and asked him on the arrival day to let me know when he was 30 minutes from the meeting point. We received no reply but went to the bus stop anyway in case of no phone charge etc. Waited at the stop for nearly 2 hours in case bus was delayed. Tried to phone 3 times and no answer.

Wow, what an experience with the wonderful Megumi san and her beautiful family. I would recommend this Workaway to anyone. I miss them all dearly and actually hope to visit them before I leave Japan. Megumi san is a treasure of a person. She made me feel so completely welcome, safe and at home from day one. I have so much admiration for her and feel so incredibly grateful that I could be a part of her and her family’s life. Megumi san and Ryota san (or Papa as we all called him hehe) are so incredibly kind and warm. I really hope I gave them all as a great experience as they gave me. I felt very respected, safe and loved, exactly as though I was a part of their family. I love the girls so much, and absolutely loved learning about them. I am so excited to find out who they will be in the future.They all have very beautiful, friendly and unique personalities. Watching them blossom, even just over two months, was such a highlight of my stay - and a highlight of my time in Japan. Writing this now, I wish I was with them all and hearing their gorgeous laughs. They all gave me so much happiness. Everyday was full of laughter, learning, connection, communication and warmth. I was also so grateful that Megumi san and Ryota san were very happy for me to practice speaking Japanese and were so helpful with this. I really can’t recommend this Workaway experience enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all dearly and am so grateful. If you tell me where to start, it's certainly going to be difficult for me because we had so many great experiences with this creature. Francis met Giulia online, and even before she joined the organisation, she was really interested in helping, unlike other travellers who just wanted to travel on a low budget. Giulia stayed with us for two months, during which time she brought about significant change to our organisation. She made every child happy and supported the organisation's challenges in any way she could. If you get the chance to host her, we highly recommend it, because she is so interesting. She left us in a difficult situation where we felt that life was unfair. The only promise we can make is that we will always miss you, Giulia, and that the doors are always open to you at Kigungu Kids Educare, so feel free to come back.

My 18 days at this Homestay was an exceptional experience. I would not have the magical experience of Sikkim if it were not for this WorkAway placement. The location against the high mountain slopes is topped by a distance view of Kanchenjunga mountain. The ecological integrity with which this family lives is inspiring. My tasks were varied and brought me in contact with the warm hearted community. The lush garden presented an autumn bouquet. I loved my secluded room, a real little she-cave! Bhawana, Mandeep and their 5 year old made me one of the family. Thank you for a unforgettable experience.

I really did have a blast with on this WorkAway experience, I've learnt quite a lot about kiwi lifestyle I'm going to take away with me and cherish, a very great family experience to be had with them, from cheese making to ukelele and with the animal care and lifestyle and all In between, not to mention the food every night oh my gosh it's delicious, I was very happy to be apart of the birthday celebrations and share that time with all. glad I could help out with everything 😊 overall a very big thankyou to Natalie, Chris, Sebastian for hosting me and summer for sure, stay full of beans out there for me cat.

Patricia and Ash are just THE CUTEST! They were so generous and welcoming to us. We have a 3 year old daughter and they were sooo awesome and kind to her, she loved them straight away! We felt 100% home as if they were friends from ages. They were super chilled with the work in the garden, a gorgeous little food forest they have created in an urban yard, which we really enjoyed doing first thing in the morning. Both the garden and the home is a magical, creative and filled with awesome vibes place. Also Ash cooks the most AMAZING curries, yum! Definitely a couple of humans with which I will be happy to hang out every time we're around Cairns! Thanks guys for being the coolest people we could have landed with💜

Mika helped out on our family beach property for a week. Doing various indoor and outdoor jobs. did a great job at cleaning the house and clearing the weeds out of our storm water drain. He's very friendly!!

We just finished a two week stint at Michael’s and we had an amazing experience. Highlights: Car available to use, great location, interesting, engaging work and lovely people. We felt like we had an authentic experience living and working in Thailand, Phuket over our time there. Michael was very welcoming and responsive and the work was varied and interesting and you had a lot of input on what to do. Not everything is explicit and that is a good thing allowing you to get on with what you need to. Tom worked on Ai, marketing and Airbnb support whilst I did some DIY, cleaning and we also had a chance to cook for the house, which was rewarding and engaging using ingredients etc that a bit different from back home. The properties are nice and big with lots of communal areas and a beautiful view of the ocean. The area is beautiful and perfect and the fellow Workaways were great to meet and socialise with. We had a 10/10 experience, and got a taster of the chill lifestyle here. It feels like a community but with your own space too. Thank you to Michael, Oaki, Maria, Dima and Gi Gi.

My stay with Flore and her family was truly exceptional. Flore welcomed me into her home with genuine kindness, and it was a pleasure to spend time with her and her wonderful family. She even took me to visit Saint-Malo, a beautiful and unexpected bonus that made the experience even richer. I had the chance to meet all six of her grandchildren, and I must say they are incredibly fortunate to grow up surrounded by such warmth and love. Flore’s mother is an extraordinary woman - wise, caring, and full of stories and knowledge. I learned a lot just by being around her. A special mention also to Olivier, her husband, who offered me the unforgettable opportunity to fly with him in his autogyro over the countryside. It was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Overall, my time with them was wonderful, and I feel genuinely lucky to have been welcomed as part of their family. Thank you for everything, and my very best wishes.

Daniele was a very friendly volunteer with a positive attitude, and he was always polite. He helped us improve many areas around the garden as well as the household. His companionship was wonderful, and we especially enjoyed the experience-sharing moments , hearing about his previous work, travels, and professional knowledge was truly interesting. He was always grateful for the experience we were able to offer, and he respected our house rituals wholeheartedly. Daniele also became very friendly with everyone, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere during his stay. We genuinely appreciated the time Daniele spent working with us, and we are grateful for his contribution. I highly recommend Daniele to anyone looking for a dedicated, respectful, and reliable volunteer.

Hello! I would like to express my deepest feeling proud about Andrada who taught English to children at School for a month. She is so friendly, hard working, commit to work. There are many students who want to study English with her because she is very good at explaining kids, patient, and one more thing is her English language is fluent. Moreover, she likes to make fun with learners specially, she has academic games. I believe that if someone with her, she properly improve the job. Finally, I really appreciate her teaching at School.

Ducharme was the first Workaway experience for me and my partner - and he made it a very good one. We have felt welcomed from the beginning and he helped making us feel at home on Vancouver Island. He is entertaining, talkative and very interested in different cultures, which makes it super easy to have conversations. He also introduced us to many of his friends who are all truly pleasant people :) Overall, we have had a great time with Ducharme!

Hi … we can’t recommend Lisa and Sarah more highly. The month they shared with us was wonderfull .. and by the time they left, it felt like they were part of our family. They both have such a positive, joyous attitude to life that they were such a pleasure to be with. They were sooo respectful to our animals and were genuinely caring to all our farm animals. There was no task that they didn’t take on without 100% enthusiasm …l weeding, painting, building, fencing … gardening They have a lovely sense of humour , enjoyed our music sessions and were so caring and kind to our grand children. They will always be welcome to stay with us .. any time. Have a wonderful time in Australia girls ! Bon Voyage ! P.S. Thanks so much for the French lessons too!!

My 10 days in the Monastery were memorable, it was really pretty there, surrounded by the mountains in all four directions and a river passing by, there were plenty of walks around. My fascination with how the monks used to live in the old times was very well satisfied. There's a lovely chapel and a practice room that we got to use whenever there was no retreat happening. Spyros, Holly and Mac were great hosts, we cooked together and had deep chats. We did a small fire ceremony for Samhain (Halloween) and I helped Holly with gardening. With other workawayers, we did some cleaning too. I would definitely come back and stay longer.

Unfortunately at the last minute we were unable to host Jan due to us having covid. He was very understanding and agreed to stay nearby with my parents where he then stayed for the next six months! He was quite possibly the greatest thing that ever happened to them, particularly my dad who loved having such an enthusiastic, hardworking, capable, easygoing sidekick for his endless array of building, mechanical and electrical projects! Jan is a delight to have around and everybody was very sad to see him go. He really became part of the family and the wider community

Our stay with Janie was really great. The accomodation and location are so incredible they might even feel a bit over the top sometimes :) The food is delicious and really healthy (our backpacker bowels, mainly used to intast noodles, were in for quite a shock). In regards to the work we helped Jane do some upkeep on an older house so it was mainly painting, gardening and cleaning. The hours were fair and as previously agreed (sometimes less but never more). Working on projects with Jane is quite a pleasant experience as her non-judgemental philosophy on life creates a very reassuring working environment. She is also an amazing source of knowledge and you can learn a lot about New Zeland culture/history and there is also a ton of interesting stuff from her travels around the world. Every day we looked forward to the the delicious dinners and the interesting disccusions that accompanied them. She also gave us some great suggestions on what to do on our off days. Would highly reccommend staying with Janie :)

I spent three incredible weeks at Frank's project! It's a magical place, surrounded by nature, where you take the time for the essential things! Frank is a wonderful person, always attentive, he makes sure everyone feels comfortable and that everyone can express their desires and feelings! He's always ready to laugh and do crazy things! Frank knows a lot, he's open-minded, it's always nice to chat with him! Frank explained how his permaculture garden works, and we got to garden with him. We also built a table from scratch using bio construction methods! It was super interesting! We also got to make chocolate and taste it with his uncle! We also spent some wonderful moments in town with his family. I loved living in harmony with nature, waking up to the sounds of insects and birds, showering in the heart of nature, cooking over a wood fire, fetching water from the spring, walking barefoot, making eco-friendly soap, living in step with the times, without stressing out... With Frank, we also cooked the best Chaufa in Tarapoto! He also took us to Abiceo National Park; it was an incredible three days, visiting waterfalls, swimming in caves, and hiking in the jungle! I also loved our little barefoot morning runs! This experience opened my mind to so many things. I was able to let go of some of my preconceived notions and it made me want to keep discovering new things! I leave this place feeling enriched, with a smile on my face and a desire to restart!
