We came to stay with Jo and Jake for two weeks and ended up staying a few months. From day one we felt completely at home. We met lots of people from the area and felt really warmly welcomed. The work was varied — sometimes easy, sometimes a bit tougher — but always satisfying and done in a spirit of mutual respect. Jo cooked us delicious meals, which we all shared together while having interesting, inspiring conversations. The little valley we lived in was beautiful; you could go for lovely walks, and the neighbors often hosted yoga classes and all sorts of other events. We’ll always look back on this place with warmth and would love to come back to visit Jo and Jake <3

I stayed for three weeks at Vero and Theresa’s farm, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We were in charge of taking care of the horses (cleaning, feeding, and moving them). I also had the chance to take classes with Vero, who really teaches you to see horses with different eyes. She truly cares for them, and you learn how special they are. You’ll also meet their two very entertaining dogs and their cuddly cat (Garfield!!). Besides taking care of the horses, which is the main task, sometimes you’ll need to vacuum, clean leaves during this season, pick up walnuts, peel them, or bring in firewood. But nothing is difficult, and honestly everything is doable. And if you don’t know how to do something, you’ll learn it (just like I did!). The atmosphere is very peaceful, and you will never go hungry. Vero always bakes bread, and sometimes she prepares delicious meals. There are always ingredients available for you to cook. It’s a perfect place to disconnect, learn, and enjoy a different rhythm of life, far away from the city. They also have a bicycle you can use to visit the nearby towns. They provide bedding and towels, and they lent me boots (which were necessary because of the rain). I shared the floor with other Workawayers who were very friendly, and working with more people makes everything much easier. If you’re thinking about volunteering with horses, I truly recommend staying here. They are incredibly kind and deeply dedicated to their animals. You can feel the love and care they put into everything they do. I felt comfortable from the first day, like at home, and I absolutely loved the experience. I would definitely return. Thank you Vero and Theresa for this amazing experience! ! Truly, getting to know horses more deeply changed something in me. A big hug, and keep sharing your passion for horses with the world! Your Chilean friend, Loreto Hirsch

We have been meaning to write this review for ages but we had so many adventures that life always took us in different directions. This was our very first Workaway and our first adventure together. Jeff and his family are truly incredible. Every single member is a special and wonderful little microcosm and we think of all of them with so much love and gratitude. The whole farm and the surroundings are like a fairy tale. We immediately felt completely at home. Through them we met several wonderful people, we became friends with the other Workawayers and we learned so much. Most of all we learned from the many tasks they trusted us with even when we had no idea how to start. In the end we always discovered that we could do it if we put in the energy. I did a lot of fencing and spent a ridiculous amount of time arranging stones to make everything as beautiful as possible. We spent plenty of time with the cows too but never alone because we learned that cows are warriors so you must be careful with them. Our hearts were especially warmed by the trust they showed us from the very first moment. We did not have a car so we were a bit of a logistical challenge but they helped us with everything. And the dogs. Real bandits. Three completely different and wonderfully strong personalities and all of them sensational. We will forever keep in our hearts everyone we met there and the whole region as well. I hope we can return to them very soon with our own car. We recommend them very very warmly.

We hosted Sheena in November, but we would have loved to have her with us for a lifetime :-) She was a precious presence sweet and always smiling, serious and responsible with our children. Disciplined and reliable, she was always ready to help us at home with household chores and with our beloved Lulù. A clean, tidy, and attentive girl, she never held back, not even during her off moments: even on weekends she made herself available without hesitation, helping us in every way with a sweetness and willingness that are rarely found. Dear Sheena, here you will always find a family waiting for you with open arms :-) A special thanks also to your mother for the jam she sent us: truly very, very good. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We wholeheartedly recommend Sceena to any family: she is a special girl, sweet, and impeccably responsible. Best regards, Giulia and family :-)

Senta and Max stayed with us for three weeks, together with their lovely dog Tifa. They are calm, friendly, considerate and incredibly helpful — truly a joy to have in the house. Max treated us to many delicious meals, and both he and Senta contributed with a lot of valuable work on the farm. They helped with outdoor tasks, cleaning and organising in the outbuildings, several trips to the recycling station, and even built and painted a fence. They also assisted with house cleaning when needed. I am deeply grateful for all their help. Senta and Max are independent, take initiative, and quickly see what needs to be done. Everything they worked on, they completed thoroughly and responsibly. Tifa, their dog, was also wonderful to have around — cute, calm and a little shy, but always gentle. I am very thankful for their stay and for the lovely connection we developed. They have my highest recommendation.

Victor was an exceptional volunteer at our school, and we are truly grateful for the care and respect he showed from the very beginning. Before even arriving in Cambodia, he took the time to ask cultural questions — such as which clothes would be appropriate to wear at school — and he thoughtfully brought small gifts for the children. This level of consideration shows how educated, attentive, and kind he is, and we appreciated it deeply. During his time with us, Victor was fantastic in the classroom. He taught with patience, clarity, and a warm energy that made the children feel comfortable and excited to learn. He adapted easily to the school environment and communicated openly with our team, which made everything flow smoothly. Victor is responsible, caring, and truly motivated to make a positive impact. We highly recommend him to any project and would be very happy to welcome him back anytime. Thank you, Victor, for your heart, respect, and wonderful contribution to our school! 🌟

Daphne was an excellent volunteer and brought so much enthusiasm. She connected with the teachers and kids instantly and created a friendly environment. Her patience, encouragement, and positive vibe helped us a lot. She was reliable, easy to communicate with, and always respectful with everyone at the school. We truly appreciated his willingness to help and her interest in Cambodian culture. We absolutely recommend Daphne to any project — and we would be happy to host her again in the future! 🌟

Phil and Gwyneth have been with us for 18 days and the experience with them was amazing! Very easy going and super good communication made it easy for us to talk about tasks and what needs to be done. As the weather made it difficult sometimes, because it could change quickly, it was really hard to predict when it is best to wor outside, but that was never a problem for themwhat we really appreciate. They found solutions for everything - annoying mosquitos or unpredictable weather. They were a lovely company when we had dinner together and we were really sad hey had to head back home! We hope to see them somewhere around the world!

I signed up for one month and ended up staying four – enough said. It is true that the people make the place, and here I found some of the most incredible individuals I’ve ever met. However cliché it is to say, this place really did become home and the staff/volunteers became family. The teams are always incredibly well constructed and you are provided with so much support in both work related situations and personal ones. Beyond the incredible atmosphere, the work is also great. The most notable thing is the flexibility. Aligning your days off to allow you to explore Albania, assigning shifts that play to your strengths, providing opportunities to make some extra cash, supporting you in any ideas or interests you have. As a volunteer here your needs and wellbeing are really looked after. The most challenging thing about working here is leaving. All of this can be attributed to the permanent staff at the hostel. Dave and Eri are incredibly generous people and a good laugh and Jacob has to be the most skilled, empathetic, and all round sensational manager (turned mate) I have ever encountered. I can’t adequately express how grateful I am that I wound up here. Thank you all so much and I’ll see yous ‘round♡

Hosting Fabian, Laura, little Lotte and baby Oscar was a truly beautiful experience for our whole community. From the very beginning, they brought with them a calm, joyful and open presence, and adapted naturally to the rhythm of life here. Fabian is deeply knowledgeable in viticulture, and his skills were a real gift for our land. But more than that, he showed true versatility, openness and humility helping with all kinds of tasks, always with a great spirit. He’s also fantastic with kids, patient and playful, and our children really enjoyed spending time with him. Laura has a gentle, radiant presence and a strong sense of empathy. She brings with her a natural ability to connect, notice what’s needed, and offer help with initiative and grace. Whether in the kitchen, in shared moments, or with the children, she added warmth and harmony to the group. It was a pleasure sharing circles and conversations with her. Lotte is a little beam of light ❤️ simple, delicate, attentive, and always so kind with other children. She found her way into play and connection so naturally, and brought a beautiful sense of peace to the group of little ones. And baby Oscar… what a joy! Smiling, exploring, laughing 😍he captured everyone’s heart and reminded us daily of the magic in the smallest things. Thank you for your generous and attentive presence, for the way you stepped into the daily life of the project with care and openness. We’d be happy to welcome you back anytime 🙏and until then, we send you a big hug and all our gratitude

I’m late with the feedback here, but stayed at Ivan’s place two years ago. It was a beautiful spot. The tasks included digging, varnishing and management of flooding the land to water all the plants and trees. The house itself was simple but really great to get back to nature. Thanks a million

We feel so fortunate to have had Yeonwoo volunteer with us – he was simply exceptional in every way! From day one, Yeonwoo threw himself into every task with enthusiasm, always smiling, incredibly respectful, and a genuine pleasure to be around. He followed instructions perfectly, asked thoughtful and curious questions, and brought such positive energy . What made his stay extra special was how he truly embraced the experience: he took full advantage of our surrounding forest and went overnight camping – rain or shine – with zero complaints and total excitement. Watching him light up in nature was infectious! He was wonderful with the children – playful, patient, and friendly – they absolutely adored him. We had some of the most fascinating conversations about politics, history, Korean culture, and life in Korea today. Yeonwoo is thoughtful, open-minded, and generous with his insights; I learned so much and genuinely enjoyed every discussion. Yeonwoo didn’t just help out – he became part of the family for the time he was here. We miss him already and would welcome him back in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a volunteer who combines hard work, great character, curiosity, and real warmth, Yeonwoo is your guy. 11/10 – thank you, Yeonwoo!

Fantastic time helping the family, lots of different jobs to do which kept us busy but was very rewarding. Kelvin and Pricila were very warm and welcoming with good knowledge of the area and their two boys were ideal playmates for our two girls. We had a great time for almost 3 weeks and the cottage was extremely comfortable and cosy for us. The house is in a beautiful area, very quite but close ot beaches and amenities. The property is lovely to spend time in nature and star gaze at night.

Josie's "all in" personality is her biggest gift. She arrived and immediately fell in with the rhythm of our team, and was 100% supportive and a joy to host. We did not expect her to be knowledgeable to work with our large german shepherd puppies, and her care and skill with them was a pleasant surprise. Thanks to her, our puppies were launched on a basic daily training program that keeps them engaged and out of trouble! Josie was one of our all-rounder volunteers who did a little here and there. The difference is that she did everything exceedingly well. She is organized, confident, and not afraid to ask for instructions. She is trustworthy and a fun person to have on the team. We are looking forward to her return next year, and are truly grateful for her help to us.

I stayed at Brid’s for two weeks, and it was a really pleasant experience. I helped her with some housework, every day was different and not boring at all! Brid is a lovely and interesting person, full of energy and very dynamic. Usually, I have a bit of social anxiety, but I clicked with Brid. She makes you feel comfortable and gives you personal space and free time if you need it. It was easy to communicate with her, which made the whole experience smooth. I’d recommend spending some time with her, you could learn a lot! 💕
