I stayed for only one week in October, and I wouldn’t want to miss this experience. Daniele’s place is unique, full of heart, spirit and nature. What impressed me most from the very beginning is what an incredibly generous person he is. He welcomes you with open arms and shares everything he has — This kind of generosity is smth really special. It’s smth I'll carry with me for a long time. It was beautiful to wake up with the sun, watching the sunrise from his treehouse with a cup of tea... it’s a truly special place, where you can live in harmony with nature, just as Daniele does. Small things gain a much bigger meaning - the excellent meals Daniele cooked, the herbs we picked fresh from the garden, the fruits, the animals that offer so much love, conversations, music evenings with friends, morning yoga together on the roof. There was another Workawayer during my stay I enjoyed working together with. The work comes up whenever it’s needed; there’s no big schedule or plan, which took me a moment to get used to. We spent time preparing for the olive harvest, and we were lucky to join one day of picking olives - hard work, but rewarding. Thank you :).

I had the pleasure of looking after Mr. Friedrich on two occasions and it was a lovely experience. He is a very chill old man that enjoys being kept company and slow walks in the forest. Janine is a wonderful host, I had some complications going to our first meeting and she was more than accommodating. As well as being a lovely person, she is also very clean and provided me with information for the area. The flat is located in a nice spot between forest and town so it is easy to walk everywhere.

Eliav stayed with us for two weeks, during which he contributed greatly to our household and garden. He carried out various gardening tasks, helping to maintain and improve our outdoor space. Beyond his practical work, Eliav shared fascinating informations about his home country and culture. These exchanges were enriching and allowed us to learn more about his traditions, values, and way of life. His presence was both helpful and inspiring, and we truly appreciated the time spent together. Thank you, Eliav, for your hard work, your kindness, and the good times we shared. We wish you all the best for the future!

My experience with Gérard and Dani was simply wonderful! Not only have I been fully immersed in the French experience, but I have also had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with some of the most wonderful people! Both Gérard and Dani were extremely welcoming, kind and helpful throughout my stay. I had the opportunity to learn a few gardening skills from Gérard as part of helping out, whilst also enjoying endless conversations about various topics with both Dani and Gérard. The beautiful atmospehere every evening, listening to various types of music and enjoying the warm fire, was magical! I was able to also practice my French and improve with their support, and learnt so much from them about the Marseille-Provence region, which was fascinating. Exploring the area around this region was also unforgettable, from the bustling city of Marseille, to the challenging yet gorgeous hike up St Victoire. This was an experience to remember, and it is thanks to both Dani and Gérard who welcomed me as part of their family and ensured I had the best time, whilst also getting the most from my time there!

Apo & Martin sont des personnes autonomes, prenant des initiatives intéressantes. En plus d'être sérieux, propres et respectueux, ce sont des personnes en or, on a beaucoup rigolé et ils ont pu nous aider dans des situations cocasses 🤣. Ils sont plein de ressources et nous sommes certaines que leurs compétences dans tous les domaines ne feront que s'enrichir! On aurait voulu que qu'ils restent plus longtemps et partager plus de moments ensemble! ☺️

I stayed at Roberta's lovely farm for almost two weeks and she welcomed me into her life with open arms <3 During this time we were mostly picking olives (to make delicious biological extra virgin olive oil) and in the other days doing other smaller tasks around the land, going to the Segesta hotsprings or playing board games during the stormy days. You get to wake up to amazing views every morning, go foraging, drink spring water, eat tasty healthy food and be surrounded by nature - truly an inspiring blessing. I hope to return at some point :) and help finishing the stone house or building a keyhole garden! In the meantime sending a big hug to Roby, Cina fofinha, Carlitos & the cats

Describing such an experience in words is difficult… the kindness of Miss Thành’s family, and of Miss Thành herself, is something I had never seen in the country where I live. In the beginning everything was new, as I had never taught before, and yet everything came so naturally. Children are children, after all, and even though their language skills were limited, they tried their best in every lesson, or, when words were not enough, they bridged the gap with smiles and hugs. I felt important — for their education and for their future intercultural abilities. I wish I had received the same care and dedication that Miss Thành shows to her students when I was in school myself. It is truly a unique experience, and it matters especially for those who want to discover the real Vietnam, the one that doesn’t appear on postcards. Together with the other volunteers, we attended weddings, religious ceremonies, celebrations at the school, or even simple outings with the teachers. Everything was so new, and I felt part of something greater than just a volunteering project — it felt like a real community. I deeply appreciated the kindness of the family and of Miss Thành in taking care of every need I had, from arranging a taxi to hosting me for two extra days after I had already left, just so I could attend Teachers’ Day. And the city itself, Tuyên Quang, hides many gems just waiting to be discovered. It's a small town that lives quietly in the shadow of Vietnam’s more famous destinations, and yet, nowhere else in Vietnam did I feel so completely at home. And although my time there has ended, I feel that the experience will stay with me. I returned home with new skills, meaningful memories, and genuine friendships. I hope to come back one day, and when I do, I know I will be welcomed again just as warmly

I had such a great time staying here. From day one I felt welcome and at home. The garden work was easy nevertheless satisfying, and I really enjoyed the conversations with Cressey – she’s an inspiring long-distance walker with lots of stories to share. The food was tasty, the place was comfortable, and everything just felt relaxed and genuine. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to other Workawayers! Two Weeks Turned Into Two Awesome Months! thank you so much Kristina and Phil I only booked for two weeks,but the vibe was so instantly welcoming and family-like that I ended up staying for two awesome months, and that tells you everything you need to know. It felt less like a Workaway exchange and more like staying with your favorite family friends. The Work Experience: We did heaps of stuff together, and the workload was totally chilled and smooth. We tackled everything from gardening staples like extensive pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, and some edging around the garden to tackling indoor projects like painting the ceiling and sanding and oiling the deck and furniture. They are genuinely easy-going and the work never felt like a chore; it just felt like teaming up on projects. It was great working alongside them, and we got a lot done without any stress. The Atmosphere: From the moment I got here, I felt completely at home. They have a remarkable gift for making their guests feel respected and part of the crew. The environment is inclusive and easy-going, and you'll genuinely feel like you're just relaxing and contributing in your own home. If you're looking for a Workaway where you instantly feel comfortable, contribute to awesome projects, and connect with people who feel like family, this is the place. Highly, highly recommended!

Anna is a verry nice persona, senitive and relax, wonderfull with animals, she played nice music, some compose by her self which add a nice social vive wit the other workawayers, nice chatting person and totaly helpfull. Thank you Anna :)

A greate family! theye were verry helpfull with a fantastic comunication and the best attitude, verry nice people respectfull took initiative on task where necesary but not planned, took nice care for the puppies... in overall one of the best familys staying here :)

Lilly stayed with us at Diamond Beach, NSW for a week in early November 2025. It was a time when we were very busy getting back on top of the property after being overseas for several weeks just prior to her arrival. Thanks entirely to Lilly we got the property cleaned up, mainly raking leaves to reduce the bushfire risk. Lilly was a fantastic worker who just got on with whatever job she was allocated always doing an excellent job whatever the task. We showed Lilly around the local region and found her to be one of the easiest Workawayers to work with thatwe have had the pleasure to host, just a wonderful girl in every way. We dropped her up to Port Macquarie and it was indeed a sad moment when we said our goodbyes. We sincerely hope we have an opportunity to catch up with her again in the not too distant future. We would highly recommend Lilly to any future Workaway host.

I spent some time gardening with a caring and friendly family. We had delicious dishes, Thanks to Roksana's recipes. Slept well in a private room, the area is very peaceful. All the best wishes, Eva

Scott & Tina were just brilliant, full stop! They were so easy to get on with and carried out their duties with pride. Tina, forever known as the “IVY QUEEN” and the walls in Geeha will be forever thankful. Going away on holidays was made easier due to the fact that all the bits and pieces that Noelle and I didn’t get around to, were all completed. Thank you both and hope life in Greece is treating you well.

Emily was a wonderful guest! We had great time with her. She played with Orion, cooked several times during her stay, helped with daily tasks. We tried to spoke French the best she could 😊 It was nice spending time with Emily playing board games, cooking, going for walks or just talking. Thanks Emily, hope we can meet another time before you leave Europe!

We had a really good time during our stay with Robin and Léa☺️ We lived in a separate house together with other Workawayers, which gave us independence but also a warm sense of community. We met Luz and Flavio from Peru, and sharing daily life and conversations with them was a beautiful part of the experience♥️ Robin and Léa were always kind, clear with the tasks, and genuinely attentive to our comfort and well-being. We truly recommend living this experience with them, they consistently checked if we were doing well and if everything was alright in the house. Robin was also extremely thoughtful: he picked us up and dropped us off at the station and even helped us carry our heavy luggage, which we appreciated so much🙏 We had two days off per week, which allowed us to explore Avignon and its surroundings at our own pace. We’ll definitely miss Duke, their adorable dog who accompanied us every day during the work hours, and of course Luz and Flavio, with whom we shared meaningful moments and perspectives on life✨ The work was varied, well-organized, and we always had enough time for our personal projects. A great experience overall, thank you so much Robin and Léa!

I stayed with Saha for a month and it was wonderful, she really welcomes you into the family and the family and the home and makes sure youre comftable. The rescue is ran out of her beautiful garden with all sorts of wonderful animals about (Swans, heese, hedgehogs, foxes etc). Your tasks are fairly straight forward, feeding animlals, cleaning them out, collecting vegetation for herbivores, and helping in the kitchen with meal prep. I drove down to the rescue and having my own car was very helpful as it is rural, but Sasha had no problem letting me tag along with her and her son if they were going out. As my first workaway experience I was a bit nervous but honestly I immediately felt comftable and got along with all the animals, people and tasks I was asked to do. This rescue is a fantastic place and Sasha does a really good job running it daily.

Artin was with us for nearly 2 months. In that time he went from never having touched a horse to confidently feeding, rugging and unrugging , leading them to the paddock, cleaning yards. He was always ready at 7am to feed.,Artin also did weeding, mowing, spreading manure and compost , looking after chickens and is a very hard worker. He was always keen and quick to learn. His knowledge of English is absolutely excellent.

Mari, I think found it difficult adjusting to rural life, physically demanding work and didn't seem at all interested in exploring the area or going anywhere. Although Mari's English comprehension is lacking, it was her lack of any attempt to clarify instructions or ask questions that let us all down.
