Federico stayed with us during a very particular time, as he arrived about one week before we officially reopened our activities, while the college was still on the December break and there were no students around. Despite this, he never showed any frustration or lack of motivation. On the contrary, Federico immediately took initiative and continued working independently, especially on video shooting and content creation. He is a very hardworking, self-motivated, and committed person who does not need constant supervision or external pressure to perform his tasks. The videos he created for our college and NGO are of very high quality, and we truly appreciated both his creativity and professionalism. His work has already brought very positive results, as these videos are now actively used for promoting our college and organizational activities. Beyond his technical skills, Federico is also a very kind, respectful, and easygoing person, who integrated well into our community. He showed genuine interest in our work, our mission, and the people around him, which made his presence even more valuable. We are extremely happy with Federico’s contribution and we strongly believe he would be an excellent volunteer and collaborator for any other host as well. He is always welcome to return to our project anytime in the future, and we would gladly host him again. We highly recommend Federico to any host looking for a reliable, proactive, and dedicated volunteer.

Ok partiamo dal fatto che é un PARADISO!! spiaggie paradisiache, tramonti assurdi e la bellezza dei Caraibi! Adam e la sua compagna sono stati gentili, magari mi sarebbe piaciuto conoscerci meglio ma quella cosa é mancata un po'. L'alloggio non é per i deboli di cuore, abbastanza "rustico" ma fà parte del gioco. Buona musica, buon cibo e tutto sommato un esperienza bellissima!

Ci siamo occupati per circa due settimane degli animali e di piante e alberi nel bellissimo luogo in cui vivono Claudio, Merle e Liam, mentre loro non c'erano. Il nostro principale compito è stato quello di nutrire e accudire gli animali, controllare che l'impianto di irrigazione funzionasse senza problemi, coprire i piccoli alberi tropicali con l'arrivo di basse temperature, annaffiare e controllare che tutte le piante stessero bene e più in generale tenere tutto in ordine. La loro casa si trova ai piedi di bellissime montagne nelle quali si possono fare molti trekking e piene di fauna selvatica ed erbe. A solo 15 minuti di auto si possono raggiungere bellissime spiagge e nei paesi attorno abbiamo sempre trovato belle persone, prodotti locali e tutto ciò di cui si ha bisogno. La nostra cagnolina Cali si è fin da subito trovata bene con tutti gli animali! Nonostante qualche problema tecnico e di comunicazione tutto è andato benissimo, abbiamo incontrato Claudio solamente per pochi giorni al suo ritorno, speriamo di conoscere Merle e Liam in un' altra occasione. Progetto super consigliato e belle persone! Grazie e a presto Alice, Fabio e Cali :)

We had a very nice time at the Montessori school. We stayed for 2 weeks there. We enjoyed so much spending time with younger and older kids. Kids are very nice and happy to share with us. We miss them already and hearing "teacher, come here" all the time 😉. Peki was not there but she checked on us daily which showed her involvment. It was nice to meet Mektreeda (head teacher), the other employees, her sons and husband. In some of our free time, we spent hours talking, playing games and going to public pool with one of her son, Ilasfasha, who is a very clever man (22yo) and loves sharing insight about Tanzania with foreigners. Learnt a lot from him about Tanzanian culture. School environment is very beautiful. Kids go to swim lessons Tuesdays, it was a very very nice moment with them at pool to help them swim better and for younger ones to learn to feel at ease in the water.

We enjoyed our stay with Pablo and Migle! The area is beautiful, situated in the forest surrounded by mountains and glaciers. We stayed in the volunteer cabin which can host up to four workawayers and has its own kitchen for making breakfast and snacks. At the time we were there, there were also two more volunteers staying in a camper van, the cabin could get a little crowded during breakfast time but Pablo and Migle were always happy for us to come and use the house if needed. While there, we worked 4 hours a day 5 days a week. Pablo was flexible with start times or if we wanted to swap days. Work was strenuous but enjoyable. We had lunch and dinner together and took it in turns to cook meals. Pablo was keen to share his culture with us, cooking delicious Chilean food and introducing us to Chilean music. In the evening we had fun playing games together. Migle was always happy to help with any questions about the area and make recommendations. On our days off we visited the national parks (further along their road) and the marble caves in the nearby town Puerto Rio Tranquilo. Note if you don’t have your own vehicle you will likely need to hitch hike, though we found this very doable. They also have 2 kayaks which you can take out onto a beautiful lake nearby. Lynn came at very short notice after another lady, Romane, had come for 6 weeks and left without warning. Fortunately my friends helped for a few days until Lynn arrived. She’s a lovely person and cared well for my dog. She saved my holiday for which I am eternally grateful. Thanks Lynn, you’re a sat!

I had a really lovely experience volunteering in Quillabamba. I helped teach piano and arts to a small group of kids, and it was so rewarding to see their creativity and excitement for learning. The host was welcoming and supportive, with clear communication and fair expectations. I felt comfortable and free to bring my own ideas into the activities. Quillabamba is a beautiful place with a strong sense of community, and this experience was both meaningful and inspiring. I’d definitely recommend it to volunteers who enjoy working with kids and sharing creative skills.

Mi experiencia en el delta con la familia de Rosana ha sido buenissima. Son personas muy cariñosa. Los empleados del eco lodge son muy amable y me sentí directamente parte de la familia así que del equipo. Les agradesco muchissimo por la experiencia. El hogar es lindissimo y es el lugar perfecto, por quien quiere approvechar de una pura naturaleza. Mil gracias a Rosana familia equipo, y espero que pueda contribuir a que ustedes tengan muchissimos otros voluntariados para ayudarles.

I was lucky to spend a month in this welcoming hostel. It was my first experience as a volunteer, and it was a pleasure to spend it with such a friendly and caring team. The atmosphere is super relaxed, there's a great harmony between the professionalism of the staff, the travelers from all over the world, and the volunteers (There were 2 of us at the beginning, then 3). Many people meet here and then set off to explore the island together. It's just steps from Colombo's most beautiful beach, there's a swimming pool, a rooftop terrace, and everyone eats dinner together in the evenings, which encourages interaction. My role was to connect with the travelers to ensure their stay was going well, to help them build relationships, playing with them, and to provide advice and information for their visit to Colombo and their overall trip. The manager is lovely, attentive, and very professional. He knows his country very well and loves sharing its history and culture with his guests. He gave me a chance despite my somewhat hesitant level of English, and I'm very grateful to him. A huge thanks to you Dinesh, and the whole team, for these unforgettable moments of openness to the world ! ♡

I stayed at Angela’s place at the end of 2025, and it was an amazing experience. Angela is extremely kind and patient. She knows a lot about Irish history and is always great to talk to. Conversations with her are easy, interesting, and very pleasant. She has one dog and two cats. The dog is Luca, who is very friendly and sweet. She loves going for walks and is always ready to play. The cats are Pema and Leo, both lovely and beautiful, each with their own charming personality. Angela is very easy-going, and helping her around the house was truly a pleasure. I always felt comfortable, welcomed, and respected. I will never forget the time I spent in her home. It was a special experience that I will always remember fondly.

We've been at Nico's house during the preparations to receive his family. We've helped him, especially with those tasks. He explained how to do them. We felt very comfortable with him! We also spent a few days with his dad, and it was lovely. Both of them were very kind and made us feel very comfortable and at home! They helped us in every way they could and were very available. We are very grateful! We shared some wonderful moments with them. We even shared some music for Nico one night! A few songs! Haha Then we were lucky enough to meet his beautiful and large family and continue spending time with them outside of work. Always a pleasure! Thank you so much!

Dear Alix, I beg your pardon...I apologize for the delay with which I write your feedback, In my defence I can say we have some health problems, as you know. Alix spent 2 weeks at our place last Summer. Roberto our, 13 years old son and we all really enjoyed Alix company. She is really a nice and positive person, always smiling and disposable. She is very respectful, quite, mild; independent. She was really patient and calm helping Roberto with his English homework . She enjoyed playing with him. She always spoke English. That was really good to help all of us to improve our speaking English besides Roberto. Wish you the best for all your projects, your University, Celo and friends. You know you can come to visit us whenever you want as part of our extended family. Let’s keep in contact,! Alessandro stayed at our hostel, trails and lodging, for almost 2 months during December and January. It was a pleasure and great to have him here. He was quiet, fun, nice and clean. He helped with a variety of tasks, from the routine housekeeping. He was very welcoming and attentive to the guests, organizing and arranging accommodations. Also fixing furniture and tweaking the electric and solar system. At one point, he was left alone for a few days, and he managed very well at the hostel by himself! We would strongly suggest and recommend Alessandro to future hosts. If you need someone responsible and reliable to work with you, Alessandro's the person to consider. Come back any time, Alessandro.

really cool family ,good vibes, nice work

I had a brilliant time here, I was welcomed with open arms. The chores were fair, easy and enjoyable. The atmosphere was full of joy and laughter, no matter if it was playing games or going on trips out together. I enjoyed chatting with everyone and sharing parts of our lives, culture and food. Communication was clear and open and house was gorgeous and tidy.

Hayley was a reliable and pleasant volunteer during her stay with us. She approached her tasks with a positive attitude and was willing to take on various projects around the property. Her work ethic was solid, and she completed assignments without needing much oversight. Communication with Hayley was straightforward and easy. She asked questions when needed and was receptive to guidance. She was respectful of our space and schedule throughout her time here. Hayley showed particular interest in learning new skills and wasn't afraid to tackle unfamiliar tasks. Her flexibility was appreciated, especially when plans changed or different work needed attention. It was a bit of a shame she was a light eater, as I enjoy cooking for volunteers, but she was never fussy about meals and appreciated whatever was prepared. On the flip side, Hayley is intelligent and thoughtful, and I genuinely enjoyed our conversations on a wide range of topics. Overall, Hayley was a good fit for our workaway arrangement. She fulfilled her commitments and left things in good order. We'd recommend her to other hosts looking for a dependable volunteer.

This was my first Workaway in Colombia after almost 3 years of volunteering in Ecuador, and Jairo & Deysi really raised the bar. Super friendly, amazing hosts that not only welcomed me into their family and community, but also provided me with incredible cultural experiences, including but not limited to a Yagé ceremony on the night I arrived, multiple trips to Carnaval de Negros Y Blancos de Pasto, family meals prepared on a wood stove, and other excursions, a truly unforgettable experience. My plan was to stay two weeks, and I spent a little over a month there. Planning on coming back before I return to Ecuador, to visit my new Colombian friends. The work was varied, a lot of watering plants, weeding gardens, looking after the dogs, cleaning the chicken coop, collecting/cleaning/sorting eggs, always lots to do on the farm. It’s pretty physical, so if you don’t like getting your hands dirty and working outdoors, this may not be a great fit. I got to lead a meditation in Spanish, a first for me, very grateful for that opportunity. One of the best Workaways I’ve done in almost 3 years with the platform. As always, the hosts make the experience, and these hosts went above and beyond to provide an incredible and memorable experience. I will definitely be back. En español Este fue mi primer Workaway en Colombia después de casi 3 años haciendo voluntariado en Ecuador, y Jairo y Deysi realmente establecieron un estándar muy alto. Son súper amables, anfitriones increíbles que no solo me dieron la bienvenida a su familia y comunidad, sino que también me brindaron experiencias culturales inolvidables, incluyendo una ceremonia de Yagé la noche que llegué, múltiples visitas al Carnaval de Negros y Blancos de Pasto, comidas familiares preparadas en estufa de leña y otras excursiones. Una experiencia verdaderamente inolvidable. Mi plan era quedarme dos semanas, y terminé pasando un poco más de un mes allí. Planeo volver antes de regresar a Ecuador para visitar a mis nuevos amigos colombianos. El trabajo fue variado: mucho riego de plantas, deshierbe de jardines, cuidar a los perros, limpiar el gallinero, recolectar/limpiar/clasificar huevos. Siempre hay mucho que hacer en la finca. Es bastante físico, así que si no te gusta ensuciarte las manos y trabajar al aire libre, esto puede que no sea lo ideal para ti. Tuve la oportunidad de guiar una meditación en español, una primera vez para mí. Muy agradecido por esa oportunidad. Uno de los mejores Workaways que he hecho en casi 3 años en la plataforma. Como siempre, los anfitriones hacen la experiencia, y estos anfitriones fueron más allá para proporcionar una experiencia increíble y memorable. Definitivamente volveré.

Nena stayed one month at our sanctuary. I loved that she was really involved in the daily life, very proactive and attentive with animals but also other volunteers. She's very funny; she loves to talk and laugh about everything, and it is a real pleasure to share time with her. It was such a pleasure that we did go together on a trip to the beach, and she will also come back in a few days for another volunteer time with us. She really loves animals, like me, so the connection was easy. We appreciate that she was very transparent about her skills (she has only a few weeks of experience with horses from another volunteering). We also appreciate that she has a real will to learn about horses, and she became a true horse lover and excellent caretaker. She was feeding the horses, very attentive to their needs, changes in their attitude. She was really helpful during our last rescue, helping prepare the box, feeding him, and spending time with him. Not only that, but she was also not afraid to wake up at night to help him stand up when he needed to. She also was proactive with gardening, and thanks to her, we have 3 baby tomatoes growing! This is exciting! I recommend Nena 100%; she's an excellent volunteer and good cook, always up to do something and taking care of everybody.

I had a wonderful stay in lovely Rachels house right by the ocean. 15 hours work a week is a great trade for this lovely experience. Highly recommend!
