Angela also introduced me to some wonderful places and people, for which I am deeply thankful. Her generosity in opening up her world to me made my experience even richer.
As for Luka, she is an adorable little dog, absolutely fantastic! It was such a joy to spend time with her.
The work itself was quite easy and enjoyable. It mainly consisted of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the animals. I found the tasks to be manageable and rewarding, and I felt like I was truly helping.
Thank you again, Angela, for everything. I will always look back on this experience with gratitude and fondness. See you soon, Augustin

I stayed with Angela last year in July and then went back again to Ballinamore this year during summertime. Then me, Angela and Luca all traveled together from Ireland to Germany, passing by France and Belgium. It was an unforgettable experience. Staying with Angela was a unique cultural exchange where you really get to experience Irish everyday

She would tell you many fascinating stories about Northern Ireland, the Troubles, Irish traditions, Irish food, Irish language and I felt grateful and lucky to be able to listen to them. I loved all the conversations we had about literature, writing, language, cultural differences, current affairs. Angela's house is lovely and very cosy and even though Ballinamore is a small town, it offers everything you need: pubs, supermarkets, restaurants, a library, a theatre, many other shops. During my stay I did some housechores, I drove the car, I took care of the dogs, I helped Angela a little bit with the computer but I especially cooked and I loved doing it. I already miss so much cooking in Angela's kitchen haha. I will never forget my two stays and my trip with Angela, they will have a place in my memory for a long time.

There are lots of things to get involved with in Ballinamore and Angela took me to the local lake, the Buddhist Centre, and the opening of an art exhibition......all really lovely. if you'd like a taste of real Irish hospitality then I can definitely recommend Angela, and she's a great storyteller too! plus two beautiful cats (who helped me type!) and a very friendly dog, who took me for lots of lovely walks in the area!Comentário

I stayed with Angela (and co!) for almost a month, and I really enjoyed my time. I was made to feel part of a family and community, but also had lots of time to myself for reflection and space to do my own work. The work part of the exchange while in Ballinamore was easy and nothing that I wouldn't do at home - mostly consisting of cooking and laundry, as well as keeping on top of the cleaning and bins. In fact, I would say this particular Workaway experience was more about cultural exchange than actual work, which is very generous of Angela and I learnt so much during my stay.
During my time, one of my tasks was to drive Angela up north to see some family and I was made to feel very welcome by everyone. We also caught the ferry from Belfast to Scotland and then drove to Samye Ling, a Buddhist monastery near Lockerbie. Despite only learning to drive manual on the job and the ridiculous amount of roundabouts on the route across the west to east of Scotland (which meant I kept stalling the vehicle), Angela was a patient teacher and we had lots of laughs and great chats on the trip. start to be Angelas driver. To then take the ferry from Ireland to France.
Driving through France, Germany and Belgium. We met up with 2 old

Angela's German translator. We visited the Buddhist centers, where Angela

I was with Angela for two weeks. There was a Country Festival near her home and she needed help cleaning her bnb house. I also did some work outside like paint a fence. The work was easy and calm. Ballinamore is a lovely town where you can walk by the river for relax or enjoy in a pub hearing Irish music.

… read more through Europe on my book tour. Autumn fitted right in with everyone and was adaptable in every situation. She is sociable and has very gentle energy. More than anything, she is a great photographer and video maker. She helped me hugely with computer and smartphone work. She studied at one of the best Art Colleges in USA. I recommend Autumn highly and wish her well on her future travels.

I was immediately given all the information I needed to get to Ballinamore easily and I immediately felt at home.

She helped me improve my English, holding conversations with me during meals and telling me a lot about her history, artistic performances and Irish history.
We celebrated my birthday together with 2 cakes and an Italian dinner.
I cooked a lot! The first two weeks the two Workawayers, Eunice and Tasha, who were with me taught me how to cook Asian foods like Singapore egg or fried rice. With another Italian Workawayer we cooked carbonara together while Angela taught me how to cook Irish potatoes, béchamel and made me like brown rice.
Angela is super helpful and kind, she made me feel at home right from the start, even though she was very busy with her work, she always made sure to make me feel comfortable and was attentive to every detail, from chocolate for my birthday to introducing me to aupairs in Ballinamore when I didn't know anyone.

If you have Eunice and Tasha for Workaway’s you will be very fortunate! They can do Everything! They reinvented my gardens, flowers, rockeries and vegetables garden. … read more away! Tasha likes outdoor physical work and is good at DIY. Eunice is brilliant on the computer. She proof read my memoir for last time and that was just great. They both have excellent English and helped an Italian WorkAway improve his English. They are great cooks and can cater for lots of people. They are friendly and love pets. If you want to learn Mindfulness just hang around with them. We stay in touch and I know we will meet again. Their gentle manner will take them far. They will be successful in everything they do. We've stayed at Angela's for three weeks and it wasn't enough, if time allows we wish to stay longer as we want to explore more places in Ireland.

Staying at her place was lots of fun, filled with laughter and a fantastic experience! We got to experience various tasks in weeding, lawn-mowing, painting, shopping, cooking, cleaning, DIY, different types of computer tasks and even proofreading!
Ballinamore is a quite and nice town, everything you need is by walking distance. Winthin an hour of drive or bus, you can reach a few places for visiting, hiking trail, small waterfall, Carrick on Shannon, and a beautiful and peaceful Buddhist centre...etc.
Also, we worked with other Workawayers Marco and Ilaria(both of them are super nice and friendly), shared meals and laughed together, practiced English with Angela during meal times. We feel like part of the family and home with everyone and lovely fur babies, Chantelle, Lhemo,and Pema. :)
