You were an amazing volunteer., always very involved, kind, attentive, and full of positive energy. You gave your all every day, with dedication and heart, and it really showed in the way you connected with the dogs, with so much patience and care. It was a real pleasure to share both the work and moments of relaxation and laughter with you. The team you formed with the other volunteers ( Kalise and Gabriel) was truly great, with a warm atmosphere full of laughter and joyful moments, as well as a strong sense of teamwork and positive energy in the work. I had a wonderful experience with Marie and the animals of the house. In total, I spent three weeks at her home, working in the garden and sometimes in the house. The work hours were fair, split between morning and evening, with a good siesta in the middle. Marie cooked for me every day, wonderful vegetarian food from the garden and the nearby markets, always in abundance—you won’t starve here. Communication was good even with my limited French, and Marie was always patient and eager to help me. Kudos to the dog Mollie, the sweetest and gentlest dog in the world. In my free time, Marie showed me around the markets and other villages, always filling the car trips with lots of stories and facts from her incredible life. I can only strongly recommend this stay to other Workawayers. I know I'll come back in the future, just to enjoy this wonderful place in the summer.

Ravi war nur 6 Tage bei mir, aber dennoch ist wirklich viel geschehen. Seine Power war gerade richtig, um das letzte Hochbeet aus- und einzuräumen. Die Terrasse zu kärchern und viele wilde Himbeeren zu häckseln. Vor allem die technischen Arbeiten gefielen ihm am meisten und er hat diese mit Fleiß und Ausdauer erledigt . Es war schön von seinen Erfahrungen zu hören. Wir hatten eine gute Zeit miteinander. Ich wünsche dir ganz viele schöne Erfahrungen und danke dir für alles.

Reading your message really means a lot to me. Honestly, it’s people like you who make this project feel alive, not just something we are building, but something we are sharing together. Four weeks may feel short, but the way you embraced everything the pace, the culture, the people that stays. You didn’t just visit, you lived it with us. From Teh Tarik sessions to welding sparks, from music nights to quiet moments observing Ramadan… that’s exactly the spirit we hope people take home. And I have to say this you are a really cool mum. Not everyone would give their son an experience like this, to step into a different world, different culture, and learn life beyond classrooms. That takes courage and openness. I’m genuinely inspired by you. Thomas may be young now, but you’re right experiences like this plant something deep. One day, when he comes back, he won’t just see changes in the place… he’ll feel how much a part of it he already is. We’re also very grateful you left a piece of your culture here. Being our first Chinese volunteer is something special, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. You’ve opened a door. Take your time adjusting back it’s normal. Sometimes when life slows us down, it actually resets something important inside us. You will always have a place here. And when the time comes, we’ll be waiting for both of you again. Bill. Melissa, Clea and Rio are a fantastic family and became instant friends. They were the first family we have hosted on workaway and they integrated into the farm and our family seamlessly. They helped with daily chores in the garden and in the kitchen, as well as help us envision some future projects, with insightful ideas from their own extensive knowledge and experience. They were extremely respectful and aware of everyones needs, being able to take time and give space where needed. We had many wonderful shared meals and have many happy memories of their time spent with us. We look forward to being able to visit them in Bolivia some day.

The two I spend at Srlovely farm were amazing! The farm is nestled among a gorgeous and peaceful nature. It's the perfect place to reconnect with your environment. Captain, Kaka, Jay and Chikako welcomed me like I was part of the family. I got the chance to celebrate Ari Aya (end of the Ramadan) with their family. It was very special and I felt privileged to be able to leave such an important moment of the Muslim community. So much good food and community moment. Learning about rice culture and SRI method was very interesting! I recommend this place 200% See you soon hopefully guys ☀️

My stay in Crete was truly wonderful. Dewi was a great host, she gave me a warm welcome and showed me a lot of kindness every day, her energy was very positive and open, and the place itself was amazing, quiet and perfect for a reset from fast-paced city life. We found a great balance between meaningful conversations and peaceful, private time. I absolutely loved this place, including the Poa and Naomi —I already miss them! I truly hope to come back to this part of Crete one day.

Ce fut un réel plaisir d’accueillir Anaïs en workaway! Elle m’a été très utile pour effectuer de nombreuses tâches, comme du débroussaillage de roncier, de la tonte de pelouse, du débit de bois à la tronçonneuse, de la plantation de graines pour le potager, des promenades avec Sisko 🐾 et encore de nombreuses choses!! Elle a été curieuse et a su utiliser les outils thermiques mis à sa disposition. Elle a été autonome et j’ai eu une totale confiance à la laisser pendant que je travaillais. J’ai également apprécié sa bonne humeur et nos conversations 😉 Anaïs, je te remercie pour ton implication et te recommande pour d’autres Workaways 💪

That was one of the most intense, adventurous, and stimulating experiences I’ve ever had... and working alongside the Alaskan huskies was the cherry on top. Surrounded by raw nature and powerful weather phenomena like blizzards, northern lights, and the long polar nights when the sun barely rises, you will feel like you are part of a different reality! A wide range of skills is required to fully immerse yourself in both the lifestyle and the work, from excellent physical fitness to confidence in working independently, being assertive with the pack of strong-willed dogs, as well as learning quickly and staying calm in real-life crisis situations. I can hardly put into words the GENUINE care of everyone there, especially my coworkers, who truly set excellent work ethic examples and therefore motivated you! For those who are passionate about learning, leading an active lifestyle, and working with some of the most incredible animals in the world, there are endless opportunities there. <3

Cony y Michel son personas maravillosas que nos hicieron sentir en casa desde el primer día. Compartimos muchas conversaciones, comidas y momentos divertidos. Los ayudamos en varias tareas: desde trabajos eléctricos, preparación de comidas, hacer rejuntes, preparar mermeladas, chicha, organización general, y todo fluyó muy bien. Formamos una familia en Temuco ❤️ Esperamos reencontrarnos pronto.

Karolina war zwei Wochen bei mir und es war eine ganz besondere Erfahrung. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment gut verstanden und haben die eine oder andere Geschichte aus unserem Leben geteilt. Viel gelacht und unser Englisch hat auch gereicht, um uns über alles mögliche zu unterhalten. Es ist so viel geschehen, Karolina hat vom Sitzkreis, bis zu den wilden Brombeeren und Himbeeren so viel bereinigt. Noch nie hatte ich so eine kompetente und fleißige Hobbybäuerin bei mir gehabt. Ihr könnt euch wirklich glücklich schätzen, wenn sie zu euch kommt. Der Abschied viel uns gar nicht so leicht und ich hoffe du kommst wieder mal. Céleste stayed about a month with us and there is no way this experience could be wrapped up in a paragraph. Extremely skilled, hard-working and eager to help, she assisted with a million tasks. From painting rails, to fixing bicycles, to plastering, to building fences, cleaning or gardening, she was exceptional. Always curious, fast learner and independent - there was nothing more we could ask. And still we got it. Amazing conversations, music, suggestions on new hiking trails, shared practices, mingling with other guests, playing with children. This was an experience so rich that is difficult to be captured. If you ever have the chance to meet Céleste do not hesitate! Thank you so much. Wish you all the best for the future!

Jen is a very mature young woman. Always cheerful, happy, and with a smile on her face. Full of energy, everything she did was with dedication, care, and love. She adapted very easily to us and other workers, as well as to the guests. She is responsible, kind, polite, and very clean. She has a car, is independent, and had her own plans to go surfing and spend time with friends. It worked out super well!! It would be a pleasure to have her again. All the best!!!

I cannot say enough great things about the experience with David and Joana, and their two lovely cats, Simi and Wicca! David and Joana are the definition of good people. They care a lot about their Workawayer's experience and the well-being of their cats. They were patient with explaining how to care for the cats, and left a detailed document explaining the care of Simi and Wicca and other important things around the apartment. They consistently checked in to make sure the cats and I were fine, and provided me with a lot of advice for things to do in the area. They even lent me a bike and a bus card to get to and from A Coruña. Simi and Wicca are so cute! They have totally different personalities and it makes for a fun dynamic in the apartment. I developed a special bond with Wickiña and the abuelo guapo Simi, and enjoyed cuddling and spending time with them (they kept me great company the few days I was sick!). David, Joana, and I had a lovely time taking turns cooking different dishes, and had some great conversations. They were kind enough to take me on hikes to see some beautiful cliffs and mountains in the area, and a monastery as well! I felt so welcomed and relaxed at their place, and I am so grateful. Thanks David and Joana and see you soon! :)

Charlotte was an absolute joy to have as a Workaway guest. She’s incredibly warm, kind, and a person of rare quality. Wendell and Jenifa stayed with us for about one month, and it was their first Workaway experience. They are very kind, friendly and respectful people, and it was a pleasure to host them in our home. We shared many nice moments together, and they showed appreciation for the time and experience here. They completed the tasks they were given in a reliable and careful way, especially when they had clear guidance and structure. As it was their first experience, they needed some time to get used to the rhythm and expectations, but they were willing to learn and improved during their stay. I believe that with more experience, they will continue to grow and gain confidence in taking initiative. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I wish them all the best for their future travels and Workaway stays. P.S. We enjoyed hosting Ellie and learning more about life in Israel and her future plans. She got along well with others, communicated well and has good self awareness too. During her stay she helped with a variety of tasks around the farm and it was good to see her confidence grow especially with driving the golf cart - we appreciate all your help during your stay. I had a great time at this Workaway. I was with Jeff for three weeks. Darcie was away for most of the time, but I did meet her at the end. Jeff was very upfront about the work. Some of the tasks were rather dirty and difficult, but Jeff will never ask a workaway to do something he wouldn't do himself. Your people looking to develop renovation skills can learn a lot from Jeff. Old people looking to enjoy a laugh and beer will also benefit from this workaway. I enjoyed Vic-en-Bigorre. Jeff and Darcie live in the center of town. It's a very short walk to an InterMarche and a proper French bakery. I will be returning to stay with Jeff and Darcie for another week before I leave France. Please feel free to contact me if you have specific questions.
