Descrição
If you crave the serenity of wide-open spaces and the harmony of nature, this is the place for you.
We are working towards being as self sufficient as possible, raising our own animals and crops as much as possible. Our primary goal is to feed our family and friends with the produce from our land, It's an ongoing project! We would expect Workawayers to integrate into family life as much as possible. Obviously being good with kids and animals is a must!
We are a family with three energetic young children living in Hawkes Bay. Guests must enjoy being around children, our children can be very inquisitive and like to ask lots of questions! Our kids love socialising with visitors, as do we! We are welcoming and friendly, love exploring and learning about different cultures.
Our home is always busy and we appreciate an extra pair of hands around to lighten the load! Help with cooking and tidying around the house is always appreciated, we love to learn about other cultures and are more then happy to try your favourite dishes from home; Otherwise its outdoor tasks creating and maintaining gardens, planting and maintaining landscaping - Due to the climate of the area, watering establishing trees is going to be an enormous job on our property, especially if we experience drought, which we are very prone to. This is going to be a very hard, tedious but necessary job!
There's always plenty to be done! In return for your hard work and dedication, you'll find yourself in a warm and welcoming home, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the serenity of rural living. People with an efficient and thorough work ethic and who show initiative will fit in well here. The tasks here are simple but requires some effort and fitness. Your help will be rewarded with much appreciation.
We are offering accommodation and food for approximately 4 - 5 hours of helping & work each day. You will have a private room with a comfy bed along with access to a full kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. You could also stay in your own self-contained vehicles if you choose. Bed linen and towels provided.
You will be responsible for making your own breakfasts and lunch, there's plenty of fresh eggs, herbs and vegetables in season available from the garden to help contribute to meals. Dinners can either be enjoyed together or separately depending on the needs of all (you provide your own snacks and treats). We would expect travellers to integrate into our family life, and maybe pass on a few good recipes! So those with a love of cooking, are very welcome! 😀
If you're ready to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and embrace a simpler way of life, we invite you to join us in our rural retreat. Contact us today to learn more about this opportunity to make a difference while enjoying the peace and spaciousness of country living.
Come help us cultivate a haven of tranquility in the heart of the countryside!

We are slowly knocking the property into shape, so there is always work helping set up gardens, weeding, general garden maintenance, animal feeding, household domestic tasks, cooking the odd meal as well as some childminding / child entertaining ... and there is generally a project of some description on the go.
In school holidays little bit of house sitting would be fantastic, so we can get away with the kids (having animals to feed, there must always be someone here...).
We are flexible about how your hours are used - as long as they get done, you can plan them around other activities.Idiomas

We have a large comfortable house. You will have a private room with a comfy bed along with access to a full kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. You could also stay in your own self-contained vehicles or are welcome to camp (tent and bedding can be provided if needed).
We are an omnivorous family, so vegan/vegetarian travellers won't really work for us - but we are open to the occasional plant based meal. We also bake a lot of our own bread so gluten intolerance is also a bit tricky for us to cater for.Algo mais...
If you are looking to get out of the city and enjoy what rural NZ has to offer it doesn't get much better than this. We love to adventure and are more than happy to show you around at weekends. Given our location we advise that Workawayers have their own transport. Experience has taught us that we aren't a great fit for people without their own vehicle. However we are open to picking you up and taking you places in our local area if you are staying for a week or more.
There are lots of interesting trips around the area which can be experienced using us as a central hub. We are happy to help you plan your stay and find local experiences that suit your interests.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of the countryside with rivers and great bush walks nearby. Hawkes bay is a great Wine region, with beaches, many cycling trails and beautiful walks to stretch the legs.
Driving to Hawke's Bay is a breeze from anywhere - and the scenery is not too shabby either!
From the North/West: We're about 2 hours from Taupo on the Thermal Explorer Highway (SH5).
From the East: Take the Pacific Coast Highway from Gisborne (SH2) into Northern Hawke's Bay and Wairoa.
From the South: From Wellington, head up the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail (SH2) through the Wairarapa - you'll be in Central Hawke's Bay in just over 3hrsMais alguns detalhes
