2 years ago I purchased a beautiful piece of land, which has an olive grove, in a small picturesque village called Dereköy near Aydin. I am also a fine artist, painter and sculptor, artist paint making specialist for which I have authored a book. I have sympathetically renovated an existing 200 year old Turkish Mud house and restored it to its former glory. I am currently building a wood, straw bale and lime plaster house, only using natural environmentally sound materials. The floors will made from mud and cow manure. The wall around the property will be made using the Rammed Earth method of building, which is an ancient technique used to construct amongst other places such as the Great Wall of China and numerous old buildings in the ancient world. We will avoid using cement in any of our building work. I have completed the building of the workshop and still plan to build an art studio and have used the same building method as that of the mud brick house. I am planning to complete all the work over the next six months together with the excellent help of my friend Tanju who is a Turkish architect. We welcome anyone to come and join us in creating something magical in Dereköy. Once completed I will be teaching drawing, painting, paint making, sculpting and pottery. The intention is to also keep bees on the property and train people who are interested to learning beekeeping. Another part of the project is to create an aquaponics project to grow organic vegetables on the farm. We will be keeping a donkey, some goats and chickens. The idea is for students who want to learn how to live entirely sustainable can come and assist us while we train you and you will share this wonderful eco journey with us and have great fun together.

Acomodação
Various types of accommodation will be available on the project site. There are 2 double rooms available with 2 toilets and showers. In good weather additional accommodation will be provided in the form of a 4man tent.

We are 25 minutes from the ancient city of Ephesus and 10 minutes from the ancient city of Magnesia. The Aegean Sea is only an half hour away from Dereköy, where unspoilt beaches will welcome you. Izmir International airport is less than an hour away.
