  After traveling Australia for the last few years we have bought a small acreage on the edge of town here in the New England region. We absolutely love it here!
  It's not a big town, which suits us. It's friendly and has all the necessities. We're close enough we can walk in if we want to go for a drink, but still have enough land for the horses.
  
  While traveling Australia I fell in love with the brumbies. So, naturally, I collected a few once we bought our own place...
  We have about 30 acres, a bunch of horses (A few domestics and then the brumbies who are in various stages of trusting humans) and a lot of birds, roos, deer and rabbits and other wildlife roaming the place.
  
  I'm from overseas but have lived in Australia for about 8 years now, I even brought my dog over and the old boy is still with us. My partner is Australian, he is away for work a lot so I'll be mainly looking for an extra set of hands when he's gone.
  
  I have done some volunteering and workawaying in the past, but we are new to hosting. Please message if you're interested or have any questions.

  Experience a small Aussie hobby farm and learn about the brumbies. It takes a lot of time and patience to get them used to their new domestic life. It's always good for them to meet and work with different people and not only trust me.
  
  While the Netherlands isn't particularly known for it's cuisine, I'm happy to make some Dutch things. I tend to skip eating/cooking when I'm home alone, so it'll be great to have motivation to be in the kitchen. And would love to learn different dishes.
  
  Happy to take people around the local area or see what's happening in and around town. There's several pubs, a small theather, markets. Various arts and crafts clubs.
  There's towns (winery region) and national parks worth exploring a within 1-3 hours drive, if people want to take a few days to go have a look (can borrow camping gear).

  Ajuda

  We would love a hand with the horses, but also general cleaning up of the property. There's piles of trash and old fencing all over the place that need cleaning up. Firewood to be cut, paddocks to be maintained/improved etc.
  If you're experienced, help us set up a veggie garden.
  
  If you have experience with horses great! If not, you can learn the basics and help with the brumbies if you're interested to learn.
  Depending on skill there might be the opportunity to ride. But currently all the horses are green or being rehabilitated, so that will really not be a guarantee.
  
  Tasks and days/times are flexible depending on what people prefer and things like the weather. Happy for volunteers to take a few days to explore the region.

  We have a spare room with a comfy bed you can use, share the rest of the house.
  Or there is plenty of space to park a caravan or similar.

  There is not much public transport in our town. I think there's maybe a bus going north/towards the coast, or south to Armidale once in a while.
  If you don't have your own transportation I can pick you up for longer stays.
  No particular house rules, just treat the place with respect and clean up after yourself. And you have to be okay with the dog.

  We have good internet. Option to set up a work space if people work from home. We don't smoke, but if you do that's fine, outside.
