Descrição
Chestnut Brae is a picturesque 70 acre sweet chestnut farm in Carlotta, just south of Nannup in the south west of Western Australia. We farm using regenerative agriculture, which goes beyond organic, although we are in our final few months to achieve full organic accreditation. We have an organic vegetable garden, herb gardens, spring fed dams, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, two goats, two alpaca that guard our small flock of Wiltshire sheep and in chestnut season we have a small number of heritage Berkshire pigs that we pasture raise to sell chestnut fed pork to leading restaurants. We love having volunteers on our farm as we thoroughly enjoy the cultural exchange and the joy and vitality that volunteers add to our farm. Chestnut Brae farm is located:
· 55 minutes drive from Margaret River and the beach
· 55 minutes drive from the city of Busselton
· 15 minutes drive from Nannup and its cafes and art sceneTipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

Travellers can benefit from life on a chestnut farm by learning about chestnuts, and the varied products that can be made from chestnuts. By joining with the family and learning about Aussie culture and learning about cooking food from scratch, the health benefits of farm rasied pastured animals, the health benefits of organic farming and how to make herbal teas using fresh herbs from the garden. How to raise vegies from seed and how to take cuttings of plants.
